  • What an amazing piece of design and engineering BUT is the KIA EV6 GT worth the 60K price-tag?

    Better late to the party than never😂 Right off the bat: the colour. Pearlescent white fits this car to a tee, and it really shows off those stylish body lines. Kia has come a long way, finally being bold enough to take a chance and bring some performance into their line-up. Almost 600bhp is super impressive, so much so it's actually faster than a Lamborghini Aventador despite how heavy it is. That is nuts!! Not a perfect EV but an incredible machine without a doubt!

    As already said in the comments, your review of this car is amongst your best! You present the video with a very relaxed knowledgeable and informative style!
    I do wonder if there is an option pack which provides power seats...

      Lesser models get the much heavier power seats but the aim was to reduce weight. Also no sunroof for same reason. Rear seat comes in semi recline but there are two more upright positions, which allow more luggage space because seat back can be almost vertical to get in large suitcases snug against the seats.

    I once chased a "standard" EV6 with my Countryman Cooper and just lost sight of it going at 155kmh myself taking it to 200kmh but never to see it again, that car is a rocket. Can't imagine this GT version 🙃

    Looking nice again x as you know from my pics, I love green calipers. But I love the green accents inside the car. The seat trim looks lush.x

    An ice cream would heat you up more Tish. I know that sounds strange and all but Tea or Coffee in cold weather actually cools you down.
    My mum always swears drinking a cup of tea on a hot summer's day does refresh and cool you down... but if you're among those who prefer a chilled glass of water to a hot cup of tea on a scorching summer's day, take heed: scientists say a hot drink will cool you down more than an ice-cold beverage!

    An amazing review of the fast model by Kia Motors! The interior space of this car feels surprisingly roomy, offering a sense of comfort and freedom while driving. The way you detailed and highlighted the interior design reflects Kia's concern for passenger comfort. It was great to see how you explored and emphasized this feature, providing a detailed insight into what makes this vehicle so impressive.
    It's true that many brands have similar designs in the market, but Kia truly stands out! They excelled in bringing a unique and distinctive style, making the car stand out in the crowd. Kia's ability to create something distinctive in such a competitive market deserves recognition. They have truly brought something that stands out and catches attention in the automotive design landscape.

    Great introduction… we all know it- regarding the astronomical prices , but surely there is going to be a lot of EV’s (and standard cars) stacking up until prices become more reasonable?!?.24/25 there should be plenty of bargains surely?

    Combustion cars lose efficiency in the cold too, the only difference is the time it takes to refuel. If you're lucky enough to charge from home this won't be an issue.

    Beautiful car (though it still couldn't hold a candle to your beauty, Tish!). Sadly, it wouldn't do well in a cold climate like where I live in the States (especially with the snow!), plus the price is a major drawback (along with the lack of range).
    Love your outfit too, Tiah (especially those pleather pants and boots!). 🥰 Try to stay warm there, my gorgeous looking friend! (hugs) ❤

    Hi, I love your reviews and you really nailed this one, I just have a question for you : how do you manage to drive with such big shoes :p
    This car is really mindblowing, I have mine (in Red !) for 6 months now and I have to say it’s really Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde : as great as a family car as a true sporty sedan. Practicality and fun together. Attention though, as you said, I wouldn’t advise people to use GT mode on open public roads, and certainly not when it’s wet, it’s truly a beast. I still don’t believe how good this is for a Kia, I never ever thought I’d buy this brand few years ago. This GT replaced a Jaguar I-Pace, which is also an incredible car, but the Kia is better on most aspects besides range, which is the same @400 km summer and 350 km winter, with 13 kWh battery less (better efficiency so), HVAC and sound : the Meridian sound system was better on the Jag for sure. It has also one of the fastest charge curve with 800V architecture. Tech is really fine tuned : 360 cameras, matrix LED’s, head-up display, highway autopilot work perfectly, ergonomy is also really good. Software updates gave us route planner, correcting one of it’s biggest flaws. Future is exciting !

      I think I've just gotten used to driving in shoes like this now, I don't even think about it. Maybe because my feet are only size 4? Thank you for sharing your experience, KIA really have done a 360 and I'm so pleased you're enjoying your GT. My dad is very jealous!

    Insurance? And yes, 60 Grand is bad for many motorists. On a £ per horsepower it's great value, but how many really needs this level of performance? Manufacturers are chasing the wrong target because with an electric motor and battery combo it is easy and relatively cheap to build - not because it is useful or needed. Having said that it's of course interesting to see what can be achieved with the technology but maybe we should have a new 'high performance' licence class obtained by an even more rigorous track based test than the current UK theory and road based one.

    I see you were driving in i-pedal mode, which is the least efficient one as it is in four wheel drive all the time.

    • @volcalstone
      @volcalstone Před 3 měsíci

      Agreed but driving in i-pedal is so less work. I tried Eco with level 3 with the left paddle slowing down the car but it just wasn't natural to me. I would rather hit the brakes instead. I do know that it regen first before physically using the pads on the brakes. I ended up going back to normal with i-pedal. At least it doesn't use the friction brakes. I don't mind this trade off while city driving. On the freeway I will be using Eco tho at level 3 or level 0 to coast of in going downhill.

    Review is fine, but it's a pointless car at a stupid price. Same as the Ioniq 5N - utterly ridiculous pricing for cars that will have seismic depreciation and performance that you just won't be able to use anywhere on normal roads. Just what are Kia and Hyundai playing at?

    • @michaelc2254
      @michaelc2254 Před 5 měsíci

      It’s not a stupid price in the US, it’s about $62,000 (£48,000) and some dealers are discounting them now. I have had one for about a year and I use the power all the time on normal roads. You don’t have to break any laws or go 100 mph to enjoy the acceleration, which is literally breathtaking. What are Kia and Hyundai playing at? They are not playing at all, they are building serious performance cars. The EV6 GT is a hoot - and a very well made and thoughtfully engineered car.

    • @tonyb3629
      @tonyb3629 Před 5 měsíci

      @@michaelc2254 Still a stupid car - and in the UK, it 'starts' from £62500 ($79000). The world has gone bonkers mad. This is a KIA FFS - others will only be even more expensive.
