They really blew it these past few years with burst weapons. Nothing is like the OG mw2 famas. But the buff definitely helped the m16.

I uninstalled MWII months ago but always have to watch a new Handler vid.
I like using a vertical muzzle comp on this gun to bring the shots closer together as opposed to a fore grip which generally just reduces side to side recoil
High Velocity Ammo is a must. Demo barrel or Komodo Heavy muzzle to lessen horizontal deviation.

Honestly had the best luck with the m16 using it with the default barrel, recoil/stability stock, komodo heavy muzzle brake, sakin recoil grip tape, dxs flash flashlight for sprintout/stability, and a ammo type tuned for recoil (can swap with optic). Gets great recoil and 1 burst potential without nuking the handling. Mainly the grip tape and muzzle brake combo does a lot for the gun

@Just a commenter - Tbf I'm not a harsh critic on burst weapons 😂 I thought the burst weapons in CW were pretty decent and I was consistently using the pre-patch M16 in MWII. Shit my fav weapon in MW2019 was the Famas 💯

I honestly think still, the best way to kit out this gun is to throw it on semi auto, with the normal barrel, and just make it as accurate as possible. Faster fire rate than the other semi autos and has a better recoil pattern... The only problem is that you have to have a good trigger finger. On ranked, it's the best rifle to put on semi auto by a wide margin IMO
The overall fire rate is about 600rpm now, so missing shots isn't any more punishing that other ARs. Having said that, burst is still jank as hell with the visual recoil in this game.

The M16 and the Lachman 762 were the hardest weapons for me to gold. They were just so weak and if you didn’t get 2 headshots you were done

Glad they buffed it, I just find burst weapons so satisfying when you get the one burst kill. If you aim for upper body it’s actually really nice imo.

Use a slug shotgun hip-fire build instead.
Bryson choke, grip, laser, stock, and slug of your choice.
Hip-fire accuracy is probably more accurate than ADS, even while moving.
It's bugged. Has been bugged but never fixed. Having no barrel equipped is the key element.

I like to set it up like the scarface m16 with a grenade launcher with solid black color with less recoil rear grip. I don't use the grenade launcher tho it kinda sucks.
Broooo i started using earlier today and all of a sudden this video pops up. It definitely does feel nicer than before. I hated using it.
When I was in the service we trained with the M16 and we never trained with burst fire lol only semi auto. These weapons felt so cheap like you could shake it and every part would rattle lol and if you got any dirt in it then it would jam up
See what I wanted for a buff to the m16 was a much longer burst delay but each bullet does 36 damage and at mid 33 damage. Long range 30 so it wouldn’t be great at range.
and yes the m16 is genuinely good tbh imo it’s always been good for me but now its even better
i play on console and i was goin for the szn camos and i was fucking around and i got my one and only mw2022 nuke with a Pink m16
i was in the discord with my homies we was talking about work and deadass i was having a full on conversation with them so my headset was plugged into my laptop and somehow i managed to get a nuke with NO AUDIO on shoot house hardpoint against PC sweaties i was like aint no way bro
moral of the story the m16 will always be a go to gun no matter the cod for me its my baby

I prefer no barrel and vertical foregrip. Lazer like and higher chance of a one burst since I'm losing the terrible range penalties the barrels have

It’s better but still bad. As long as it takes 2 bursts to kill the ttk is not going to be competitive. It should be a 1 burst kill but have a longer burst delay. High skill high reward.

It's damage range is pityful and the recoil ... dont get me started. IW have sonething against burst weapons, the only burst in MW19 (famas/fr 5.56) had high recoil too. At least its damage range was good

Simple explaination for why burst guns are weak compared to other automatic guns now is that bullet velocity has been introduced in some CODs before. Without bullet velocity it would definitely be deadly like in the original mw1, mw2, mw3 (M16, Famas...) back in the 2009.
U see Handler getting easy kills because his enemies either did not move much or were close enough for him.
Good players would aim down sight and move at the same time.
In other word, m16 would not work in high SBMM matches.
And this video, Handler is not in a high SBMM match.
