I'm like you, I like anything old, cars , tractors, trucks, outboard motors, some body has to keep them going

Nice find with the new tank, I think the old one looked slightly more balanced overall but having seen how bad it was then it was beyond repair, the only option would have been to make a new one and that’s a great deal of work. All in all a super little engine that will look brilliant once polished and painted.

I've learned quite a bit watchin yer channel. You boost my confidence to try a small project. Maybe I can find a vintage outboard or garden tractor to hone my skills a bit more before try a bigger tractor. (8n or 9n). A willys would be dream and probably beyond my skills. But watching you and how you approach a project in small bites, makes me think I could try. Nothing ventured nothing gained, right?
      Thanks for the inspiration.

If I can do it, you can do it! Taking these projects one step at a time helps me not feel overwhelmed.

That motor needs a 16 to 1 gas oil mix.
They are neat little motors, I’ve got two and my daughter has one. She did a cosmetic restore on it. It didn’t need any mechanical work.
    That brass polishes up nice.

I still think you should coat the inside of the fuel tank. Neat little trolling motor though. Good job getting it running!!

Good idea. I have some Red Kote I might try. Thanks for the idea.

Nice work. You should watch Chickanic's experiment with TruFuel and how bad that gas is. Very interesting.
Motor would be a good back up for fishing boat.

Mine always let me get to over half way across lake and died,it would get to hot and shut down. I would have to wait for it to cool down fish a little and get half way back and paddle from there. I went and got a 6 horse johnson and it didnt happen anymore. I still collect old ones for show.
