- There's always been an argument whether vintage guitars are better than modern "remakes", so we put it to the test! guitarguitar had this vintage 1979 Stratocaster traded in & Keiran has a shoot out comparing it to a modern Vintera II 70's Strat. Which did you like the most?

The biggest difference will be trem or no trem. Those springs really do make a difference.
I purchased the vintage one today! 😎👌🏻
Great choice! 🤘🏻
That's superb Chris. Hope you don't mind me getting hands on it before it went to you!
@@guitarguitaruk not at all - these things are there to be played and it’s cool to have something that was used in a video to such great effect. I have a few vinteras, but I’ve always wanted a ‘proper’ 70s strat… and I’m lucky enough to be able to treat myself once in a while so, why not? 🤘🏻
The OG has 1,000 better pickups IMHO.
Who cares 🤣
I owned a ‘79 hard tail, rosewood Strat back in the early 80’s. I also owned a ‘76 Strat. The big difference was the neck shape. The ‘76 had a very pronounced ‘U’ and the ‘79 had a thinner neck. Interesting your ‘79 was thicker than the Vintera. Maybe mine was a little later and got the ‘80’s style thinner neck. The neck shape is the only reason I might buy the Vintera, but if it’s not a proper, chunky ‘70’s ‘U’ neck, forget it. Fwiw, I also had an early ‘70’s Tele and it had the exact same ‘U’ neck as my ‘76. I’m no fan of the so called modern C. ‘70’s ‘U’ necks are my fav.
If its good enough for Clapton...
the Vintage 1979 has a bottom end while the Vintera II has a tight bass , so it feels very blunt less life comparing to the 1979 , the upgrade will be in pickups
The Vintera in vintage white sounds ..nice …the sunburst real 70’s was a hard tail so I don’t know with having more mass body really changes tone and maple vs rosewood…however 👍 nice job
I think it would make it more tele like but i thought the vintera had more definition
That's fabulous, enjoy the guitar!!!!
I personally liked the sound and vibe of the 79 Fender Stratocaster. The Fender Vintage strat is nice....but I really prefer the 79...
something really cool about a real deal vintage
Its ash, not alder !
The 1979 has gritty, dirtier and more attitude in tone. The Vintera has that goodie two shoes vibe since everything just sounds softer and more polite compare to the 79.
The Vintera for me, I wouldn't feel so bad scalloping the fretboard😊
The 1979 Stratocaster sound a little more thicker
The 79 has more body sound
Is homie in a wig? Wtf? I can even concentrate on what he’s saying
They're still in the 70s in Scotland😊
100%
California is still Mexico ;)
california española
70s had inspiring tone. Mexican not so much..
