I was moved dramatically by this broadcast to intercede for another move 70+ years later...but this time across the pond in the USA. God, have mercy on our young people once again!! It's time!!
Our current president has a heritage that goes back to this revival. He has a Bible that I think was his aunt's who was an intercessors during that revival.
The 2 ladies that prayed. They're the ones related to President Trump.
President Trumps mum, Mary Ann MacLeod, who was born in the village of Tong on the Isle of Lewis also took part in the revival at the same time as my own grandmother
Mary Ann remained a committed Christian throughout her life and always attended the Gaelic services at our church during her annual returns to the island

May I say as a former worker with the Faith Mission (when Duncan Campbell was the Principle), that the purpose of the Bible College and Training Home (as it was then called) situated in Edinburgh, was to prepare men and women for the service of God. Emphasis was placed upon getting to know God and His Word. Practical training through daily chores and through outreach ministries helped to shape the workers and prepare them for vigorous and demanding rural evangelism.
That is excellent. They were sent out to outreaches to apply what they learnt. Thank U for sharing !

The three reasons I think, in my humble opinion that some do not respond to the Lord is, first The traditions of men make the Word of God ineffective, second, Satan has blinded their eyes, deafened their ears, and third, jealously, and lack of knowledge from other ministers. Being in ministry for 35 years my husband and I have witnessed the latter many times. So glad you posted this, I long for an end time outpourings of God's presence!

I think my grandfather was the blacksmith in Barvas, John Smith. My Dad told me stories about when he was a child there were meetings in his house in Balantrushal that frightened him. I will have to ask him again. My

I saw the precipitation of the revival was the result of two elderly women in their 80's praying in the church beside their small cottage. They prayed many nights & was then Duncan Campbell came . Incredibly,

Revival will come when Christian's will repent of sin and strive to live in holiness of life. When God sees that we take him seriously, He will take us seriously and send revival. The distraction is the modern adornments of rock bands, light shows etc which only get people's emotions going, but this is not the outpouring of Grace.

Have you read the book on the 1922 Lowestoft Revival ? I have a copy, when a minister from London went up to Lowestoft (Suffolk) to preach and nobody wanted to go home. Then later a man called Jock Troop came down from Scotland. Many many people came to know the Lord . Women came down frrom Scotland, Fishing was the connection and they took back the Gospel to Scotland and its fishing places.. We have to weigh up this against the text that tells us about the last days. We read they shall be as the days of Noah when there shall be marriage and giving in maariage. I believe things will get worse and worse as the end approaches. I know the last days are the days since the cross. Are we living in trhe last of the last days.? When you listen to those who were yet alive to tell what happened, was a teenaged boy named Donald who emphasized the words of Ps. 24 in prayer when the power of God was loosed.
Yes. the elderly ladies Peggy + Christine Smith emphasized Isaiah 44:3 + other ppl. Teenager Donald prayed Ps 24 and Duncan Campbell emphasized Isaiah 64:1.
The Lord therein shows the importance of multi-generational involvement with regard to the key people in the Lewis Isle Revival. Peggy + Christine were elders; Duncan Campbell was the main preacher; The intercessor Donald, whose prayer resulted in breakthrough was a young teenager - Multi- Generational emphasis.
Duncan Campbell was a gaelic speaking faith mission pilgrim who later became the principal of the faith mission college in Edinburgh, a humble man of God.
I see a revival coming to UK.

regarding how some were convicted of the Spirit and some not...I get a sense that the event played out like that of the Passover...some obeyed and some did not. Just guessing

A good account of the revival. But... May I suggest it's better not to use back ground music whilst playing a recording of Duncan Campbell. Yes the traditional music is wonderful but it's more important to be able to fully understand Duncan Campbell's words.. made difficult because of the old recording, his Scottish accent and his old fashioned way of speaking. Speaking in tongues is praising God in your own native language. That is a sign to unbelievers that you love God. If you do not speak the native language then you must have an interpreter.

He said not to do it publically. The general population would understand. Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew were languages spoken in his day. He was educated and taught the leaders. We may groan during times of prayer and the Spirit understands. No angel language. If so are there dialects? Will you make a lexicon/dictionary for me?

He brings them along. Intercessors always bring breakthroughs. This move that is happening will destroy a lot of denominations, because the people will read it in the Bible, believe the Bible, and “ do” the Bible. They will be tattooed and “ringed” in places the church has look down on. But they will be sold out to God and will be more concerned about souls than how much money they can make. Sorry your historian is wrong, almost all of the revival happened in Gaelic, so they didn't use the English language KJV
Lewis Christians did not speak in tongues. Nor is there a record of tongues in all other churches in the new testament. Only Corinth. However there were dreams and visions [see Joel].. ... and they WERE filled with the spirit
