Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) has granted approval for train operations on the new railway line between Reasi Station and Sangaldan. A significant development occurred with CRS inspections on June 26 and 27, 2024, followed by speed trials on June 28. After receiving the CRS report, Indian Railways has initiated preparations to open the 46-kilometer new rail route. Reasi Station is approximately 17 kilometers from Katra Railway Station.
