    Great umpiring, very professional. I am really glad the included the part where he told the pitcher "My bad" on a borderline ball/strike call, this guy really seems to care about these kids and is definitely a 'player's' umpire. Good stuff

    Great video, good rapport with the players. I have a teenage son learning to umpire and this is a good low-intensity video showing the run-of-the-mill stuff a good umpire does on different plays.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Take my boys to that stadium to watch the Blue Sox all the time. Gonna miss it this year since they already canceled the season.

      It's a 0retty decent strike call his 3rd strike strikeout call could use a lil work

    I guess this a video on how umpires ask ball boys for more baseballs. Not much else.

      I think it shows people that umpires don't just sit back there like stale statues. It shows how we have rapport with catchers and players and we're not always enemies. We love the game as much as players unlike what most fans think.

    • @bluestar9463
      @bluestar9463 Před 2 lety

      @@bigbens33 So asking for balls builds rapport and makes the umpire less of a statue and shows love for the game. Ok, you go with that.

      @@bluestar9463 Sorry I was talking about the entire 22 minute video, not specifically the 30 total seconds of asking for baseballs.
      But I can garuntee if I was a dick to that kids it would get back to the dugout and ruffle some feathers and would probably have more chatter from those guys. You never know 🤷‍♂️

      @@bluestar9463 Obviously you've never called a game behind the plate. It's a lot more work than most people realize. Always having to move and be in proper position to make the correct call and of course, the umpire is always wrong! It's a thankless job that we do for the kids, no matter what their age is.
