This is what you give ears that want to be tickled, not bad preaching.
My mother wanted this song at her funeral. I didn’t think I’d ever see the day...it’s been almost 5 months now since she went home to be with Jesus. At the service, I began to worship and Jesus was giving me a peace, and the Holy Spirit took over. I just worshipped through the rest of the song and it was amazing. It didn’t sound anything like this, though! I love this song and especially arrangements like this! She did too. :) I miss her so much. She had a beautiful heart, soul, and spirit, and I learned so much about God from her, as did so many young people at church. Growing up, she was our youth leader (we didn’t have a youth pastor). She taught about the Bible, and every week (Sunday nights when the adults had a Bible study) we’d learn a song. Some of us who could play instruments did that too, but we all sang together. She’d ask some to sing a verse now and then, or girls for one verse and guys for the next, etc. We were at a small country church, but they gave us $ to go eat or do things together. Everyone came to our house in the summer to swim, and we had homemade ice cream and a cookout. Pizza, you name it! :) I think youth and kids need this more than ever. I’m so grateful for all she did. She coordinated Christmas programs and music and Bible school. I loved teaching and being in the plays or singing. Things are so different without her, but I will see her one day! That group of people referred to her and my dad as “aunt and uncle”. We really had a church family, and we need to have that again, especially the way things are now. ❤️🙏🏻✝️🕊
I played this video for my 6th grade class today. They wanted me to play it again - and again. I'm greatly impressed with this guy. Glad he is using his talent in a Godly way. Awesome.

That is not his actual range. He uses software to shift the pitch up or down in octaves.

You can hear it. When you've been in audio engineering and music production for a while, you begin to hear things like that.
Listen from the 2:00 mark and you can hear slight modulation in the bass. If you slow down the audio you can hear that the attacks of the bass notes are an octave above the actual bass notes. This is commonly done while pitch shifting to make it sound more natural.
Also, this was pitch corrected to 12 Tone Just Tuning. This is not in 12 Tone Equal Temperament tuning, which is another major give away there is a quality pitch correction software being used.
There's nothing wrong with this whatsoever. The music is good. It's good to acknowledge when software is being used to make enhancements.

Man, this is one of the hymns that means the most to me as it was the one God used to comfort me after seeing my dad die in front of me of a heart attack 7 years ago (when I was 18) and this version nearly brought me to tears. I am a christian musician as well and I am soooooo incredibly thrilled to see someone with your talent using it to glorify Jesus. What an amazing blessing God is using you to be to so many people. This music brings the atmosphere of heaven to the listener that is an extremely rare thing to find these days. Thank you so, so much for how you are using your talent. You are making an eternal difference through it friend.

I hope that soon, you will have a CD that I can purchase for these beautiful people to listen to.. they dont have computers... please publish a CD with your incredible gifts so that it can be shared with the many....you are a gift...

Susan, I too have shared this hymn and others from Sam to my dad when he too was at deaths door. He's still with us and lives in an assisted living home. He couldn't move at the time, blind in one eye, & starting to loose his hearing. What I did was I bought a $20 powerful tiny speaker to plug into my cell phone. The speaker really helped a lot! He loved listening to it with his eyes closed. It brought him such peace. Gave him something positive to think about. Sam will find out some day, just how many he has inspired through his music. I thank God.

you have a 6 octave range? that's like one in a hundred million. very Take 6-ish and if you didn't melodyne or auto-tune or pitch anything, you did a great job!

He said in the comments on another song that he sang every part, but only modified the extreme bass. He's not being dishonest, he just can't keep re-iterating the fact all of the time.
I didn't accuse him of anything. I made statements. A 6 octave range is extremely rare (to be able to sing that range). And his pitch is so accurate, that one might question whether auto tune or melodyne was employed. Obviously he's not singing it live but that's no biggie. The arrangement was really nice and the end result was really good so if he did use pitch adjustment, that's fine. I do it sometimes and make little fixes here and there.
Even if it's auto tune, the result of the arrangement is simply amazing. It's very musical and intense, why would anyone care if the impossible was made on computer? Just listen to the song...
