  • How to fix boot device not found - hard disk (3f0) error when booting your computer or laptop. The issue can be that the system is looking to another boot device like a usb key or cd instead of your hard drive (fix in bios boot options). Hard Disk (3f0) error code on boot can be from a dead or dying hard drive. This boot error could mean that your bios option are set to legacy and not secure boot or UEFI boot.

I fixed my faulty HP laptop with a hammer. It didn't solve the hard drive issue but I felt a lot better. Never again would I purchase a HP product. My mobile phone is faster.

I have exams tomorrow and my laptop does this to me 😃🤘
update 6 months later: i used my phone for the exam and it turns out that the laptop i was using fell flat on its screen when the owner that time was my older sibling.. the said laptop is now finally fixed (after being on standby for months) for the usage of my younger sibling and i got a hand-me-down laptop from my cousin so it all worked great in the end ☺

I spent my 4 month savings on a HP shit, i have issues with power throttling, issues with ports, issues outta nowhere, then the same problem as the guy in the video, idk if im gonna destroy my laptop and save for a year to buy something like i dunno Razer, Dell or even a MacBook, and i hate Macs, but if they are more reliable then this shit im going for it

Oh if you think their products suck just try calling their tech support. Man, they will make you flip your wig. The guy had me on the line for 2 hours while he watched a youtube video to try and help me! Oh and the clincher was they charged me $89 bucks and refused to give me a refund. Well I one upped them and disputed it with my credit card company and got my money back. I then watched a youtube video and fixed the issue myself. HP is incompetent. The sad part is I have an HP desktop, all-in-one printer, fax machine. The sickness goes on and on. When they conk out I'm not going anywhere near an HP anything! Whew! Thanks for letting me vent.

a lot of the fixes that people are finding seem only temporary. So if something works for you, don't shout for joy until you've had a dozen or so successful boots to Windows. What is working for me (notice I didn't say "what worked for me") was going into the BIOS and turning off ("hidden" is the word in the setting) the TPM (Trusted Platform Module). This, on my 2019 HP Spectre x360. So far, so good. Good luck, everyone. 🤞 UPDATE: It seems to be working after multiple restarts.

Thank you! I opened my laptop up to clean it a bit (overheating and loud fan). Turned it back on and said 3F0 error but I hadn't touched the drive or anything (m.2)
Was at a lost and had tried a bunch of other solutions and all I had to do was enable legacy mode - doh.
    Thanks for the vid!

Okay so some people might have changed the hard drive and then loaded the defaults in the bios or something and by doing that the legacy boot something( i dont remember it quite well) is disabled and i had to enable it for my pc to boot

This exact thing happened to me, ran into some problems got blue screen a couple times and ended with this black screen but errors seem to differ every time I try it so my guess is the hard disk died as I heard some weird sounds from it for a while. He's not a manufacturer so u can't expect him to know every single problem, he solved mine and unfortunately not yours. Just act mature and use your brain a little.
