+IchigoKurosaki10 In general though most people there aren't fluent in english you can get by. The subway systemt works well with google maps as well. So the best thing for you to do is get a wifi pass which is a router that you carry with you that'll have wifi service for you to use a translator and map apps. You can get or rent one out at the airport.

David you will love Osaka and Kyoto. I spent the last year studying abroad in Osaka and I'm also back in Osaka right now visiting my girlfriend!
The people are nice and there are so many cultural hot spots. Kyoto is also only a 30 minute train ride from Osaka so it's very convenient. You can even take the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto which will only take around 2 hours.
Lmfao when Joe started talking about Hachi started tearing because of how sad that is, remember watching the movie and was balling my eyes out.
