It's also another heavy hint towards Raphael. Raphael who's supposed to essentially be an AI, seems to act on it's own when it wants. For example refusing to reactivate Rimuru's poison nullification, asking the world for evolution, "sacrificing" Beelzebub to eat Melt Slash so it analyze it.

Raphael is literally Rimuru's closest aide, but also the one to act most independently. Always working in Rimuru's favor, but with a touch of emotion nonetheless. So it trolls Rimuru at times, like it did with the poison immunity before. Or when it kept a sarcastic silence about crucial information because Rimuru scolded it.

Both of Rimuru and Hinata weren't trying to kill their opponent and that's one of two reasons why Rimuru didn't just one shot her with his 4 ultimate skills... the other reason is him being astonished by her beauty 💀💀 in the novel he was horny and simping for her the entire fight, he even said something crazy like: I wish if I can have my son back so we can have a different kind fight 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 it's been years since I read the novel but this fight is the only thing I remember from this volume because it's was epic and hilarious at the same time 😂😂

They didn't show what Souei did to the female knight he was up against in the anime. Basically he just tied her up and used his powers to give her intense pleasure as a form of "torture " while questioning her about what the knights were up to and what they were planning. That's why she is completely down bad for him now.

Rimuru took that hit on purpose. Raphael wanted to analyze it and integrate knowledge to improve Rimuru's ultimate defense. Raphael made a back up of Beelzebubth. He did not lose it, C'mon. It's the Lord of Wisdom. It ain't stupid to lose such an important skill for no good reason. Always have a backup. And now because of it, Rimuru has improved predictive and defensive abilities against holy attacks, and can even use Melt Slash himself.
While i know he ask, i do wonder if it might be something next week might be answer too, lol.
To be fair no one else in that world can do it. And they would have to sacrifice Beelzebub indeed

So at 27:27 Rimuru has Ultimate Skill Uriel (can potentially block that attack) anime-only know about this Ultimate Skill as he gained it from analyzing Infinite Prison (the thing that kept Veldora sealed)
Instead of using that, Raphael decides to “sacrifice” Ultimate Skill Beelzebub so that way she can absorb -> analyze -> copy the skill Hinata used for herself (that’s why Raphael didn’t say anything because it lied/deceived/tricked Rimuru)
All in all, Raphael is a skill freak and will do anything (even deceive Rimuru) to learn new skills for its master 😅
Uriel is just an ultimate skill that specializes in defence/barriers (like how Shion did multilayer barrier when splitting Gerald’s fire attack) except Uriel is ULTIMATE version of that and more - anime doesn’t do much to explain what their skills do sadly 😢

Raphael's reasoning for sacrificing Beelzebub was because it could regain the skill later and Raphael was uncertain about what made up the holy particles of the attack, meaning Uriel may not have been able to fully defend against high level holy attacks.
By using and sacrificing Beelzebub, Raphael could analyze the holy particles, and by using that knowledge was able to make Uriel more effective against them. This is shown when Rimuru blocks the "Trinity Disintegration" from the three seven luminaries that showed up after the events of this episode.

Also, this was used in a meeting where... I think it was Gobuta who was put on the grill (figuratively) and he protested asking something like "are you an ogre?" and the camera panned over the room pointing out Benimaru and the other former ogres: "Oni... Oni... Oni... Oni... -Oni- _Oni_ ... Oni..."

As Anime only all you need to know is that Raphael told Rimuru he couldn't dodge the attack
nor defends it so she proposed to Sacrifice Beelzebub to basically take the blow for him.
As for why Hinata is all girly/happy I don't really know, my guess would be a mix of relief (nobody died + she know discussion is next) and surprise that he actually went and tanked her attack like a moron instead of dodging but actually survived intact (in reality it took around 70% of his total energy).
Interesting, everyone keeps saying it was sacrificed? So I'm guessing that ability is gone now?
@@GOTGames Yes, it basically took most of the hit for him. Melt Slash is a condensed form of Disintegration, so the strongest form of the strongest holy ability that's why it was so dangerous. But why this solution ? Was there any other ways ? will all be answered in the next episode unless they decide to cuck everyone and cut to Diablo's invasion and only go back to the situation on hand in later episodes, it would be cruel but possible
@@GOTGamesYeah, the skill was sacrificed. Think of Melt Slash like a supercharged version of Disintegration. It's a higher tier of erasure, more fundamental. If Disintegrations could erase body and soul, Melt Slash was able to outright erase an ultimate skill.
Rimuru can 100% defeat Hinata easily if he actually decided to use any of those ultimate skills he got from his evolution. I'd recommend you just continue watching for the anime because they should explain things in the next episode. Already saw a spoiler in the comments for what will probably get explain at the start of next episode.

30:12 "Seven days" is slightly mistranslated, but that's the title of the high members of the church with face-covering hats who manipulated Hinata into fighting Rimuru.
They gave her the "dragon slaying sword" here, allegedly as a counter-measure to Veldora.
Turns out the sword was a trap.
I wouldn't say it's mistranslated, rather it keeps really close to the original source material translation (Yen-On LN) contrary to what they did in the previous episodes' subtitles. As for why seven days... it is somewhat fitting as the people in those ranks have weekdays as epithets (there is Monday, Tuesday etc.). One of these (pretty sure not name-dropped yet in the anime) should also be a bit more prominent than the rest later in the season.

I’ll break down a few things for you.
- sooo the beginning scenes of this episode showed Luminus doing something. That’s important for potential future arcs … maybe 2 or 3 arcs in the future?
- Shion has a Master Chef skill that can manipulate rules of certain things. It also fixes her cooking lollll
- hinata dropped her main sword that she normally uses and used the dragon slayer sword thing that the shady Seven Days Clergy people gave her a couple episodes ago. (Not spoilers, but ) During the novels, i believe it was hinted throughout the fight that there was something weird about that sword.
- in the end, Hinata was talking about how the Seven Days went that far to try to kill Rimuru when she didn’t really want to.
I’ll let you fill in the blanks based on what you’ve seen in this episode so far, allll the way from the beginning to the end…. Lol
That's actually the other way around. Hinata dropped the Dragon Buster and left it on the ground to dish out her own rapier.
Apparently Raphael lied that this attack is unavoidable and stuff, rimuru could have dodged it but Raphael wanted him to tank it purposely. So that's why rimuru was like Raphael sus mode at the end😂

This is the episode we’ve all been waiting for: the long-awaited rematch between Rimuru and Hinata-and it did not disappoint! Studio 8bit actually cooked with the animation and choreography, which I didn’t expect since they aren’t exactly known to be the best studio. This is definitely one of my favorite fights in the series.
My only complaint about the fight is that it was a bit rushed in the anime form as it was much more detailed and longer in the light novel. But compared to all the cut content we had in season 1, this current season is still handled far better.
Also, we got a little teaser for the legendary Chronoa Arc at the beginning of the episode. Of course, I won’t spoil anything, but it made me super hyped for season 4.
But overall, this is the best episode of the season so far and I can’t wait for the next one!
Hinata has serious abandonment issues. She is like one of the people who refuse to date someone for fear of lose and heartbreak. She prefers isolation to the risk of emotional pain.

We finally got the full message Rimuru sent to Hinata, if you don't rememeber they only heard Rimuru's message until the "one-on-one" part they didn't heard Rimuru saying peacfully talking about this. The seven days clergy edited the message.
LMAO I had the exact same reaction to the end of the ep! 🤣 I'm sure Rimuru is going to heal Hinata and then her knights are gonna stop being stupid and listen to what Rimuru has to say after he saves her, but I do agree that that was a BS cliff hanger!
As for what happened with Raphael hiding something from Rimuru, I was also confused about what happened and I wont say anything, but it was spoiled for me and I think they're going to explain it next ep, I dont think we were supposed to fully understand what happened right now.
Sion definitely stole the show this ep, was a little nervous she was gonna go too far when she took the dude's ear off, but I very much enjoyed watching her toy with them with a smile on her face.
The name of the legendary sword that Hinata took out is "Moonlight". It is a sword with incredible capabilities, but not everyone can use it. The first reason is that weapons and armor made from magic stones emit their own magical power, so if someone with weaker powers uses it, they could die. The second reason is that weapons made from magic stones look inorganic on the surface, but although they do not have a clear ego, they have a "consciousness" that produces various effects, and each one has its own personality, so there is a possibility that the weapon will choose its user.
Incidentally, the name of the sword the Masked Hero had was Moon Mistress... oops

Well what hinata thought is from what she saw in the tampered crystal ball from rimuru that the only words that was left was rimuru challenging her to a duel. So by abiding to the rules of being challenged, she is compelled to know of rimuru did challenge her out of pure vengeance or is it that there is something hidden in those words as what she was trying to word out after few exchanges of swords. Which is actually too farfetched to the original message he recorded in the ball for hinata.
Rapheal chose to lie and say it was unavoidable and unbloackable even though it was and when Rapheal said sacrifice belzebuth she meant destroy the skill and use it to protect rimuru from the attack so rimuru is probably going to get annoyed at Rapheal next episode for lying. This isn't a spoiler it just is me using the obvious hints from the last few minutes of the episode to put 1 + 1 together.
Luke, when she says Seven Days at the end she's talking to the Seven Day Clergy (the masked guys in white) that started this whole thing. They played Renard and caused this whole thing and Hinata caught on. Going by comic book law, I won't believe she's dead for good until I see the body and even then I still won't be sure lol.
Thing with Raphael you will find out later and the attack meltslash hinata used is one of the strongest holy attacks, basically the attack named Disintegration used by Hinata to "kill" Rimuru is S2 was put into her sword basically and can one shot most monsters by Hinata.

2. rimuru doesn't have his ultimate skill Beelzebub anymore it got erased by Hinata attack. along side 70% of rimuru energy. (something extra they didn't mention)
3. you are kind right of what happen between souei and the blond girl, they did fight but no they didint have any relationships lol, hopefully they say it next episode of what happen.

what i can say is Raphael is slick and dramatic, and Rimuru is too paranoid. im literally giggling watching this episode. Hinata said that Rimuru is as strong as God Luminous, the truth is in his now condition, Rimuru is stronger than Luminous.
also this is not THE fight, i think the big fights in this season would possibly invlove Milim and the frozen girl in Luminous' basement if the season consist over 20 episodes.
Demon Lord Rimuru can react 1000x faster than b4 and has many more hax abilities but that havent raised its sword skills and speed that much that Hinata would not be able to compete in cqc. Hinata is to Rimuru like hormet to human. She could be flattened but can also cause some major pain and perhaps kill Rimuru if Rimuru just stood there, taking her attacks all the time but Rimuru has all the tools to squash her.
Hinata left Shizu so that she could become strong enough protect her
Raphael was trolling rimuru "she" has been doing that quite often since she evolved... She told rimuru they would not be able to avoid the attack but she could sacrifice Belzeebut, one of their strongest and most important skills, to save themselves from the attack... and rimuru resigned to it... but even while doing that Raphael still kept working towards solving the problem... in the end Hinata was not 100% serious in KILLING rimuru with her attack, she was trying to win though... so Raphael used an alternative without telling Rimuru and essentially did not actually sacrifice Belzeebut at all but she just stayed quiet to troll him... that is why he is confused... IN the meantime... hinata Thinks rimuru is just so badass that he took on the attack and survived it because he is a chad... While rimuru does not even know what happened since the one in control at the moment was Raphael...
I hope its clear now, that it wasnt a joke when hinata said she only came personally to avenge shizu back then.
Everything what we saw from her was enough to clearly beat rimuru, while holding back her true power.
Its just sad they once again left out a lot. Rimuru getting attack prediction was more an evening of the odds than a decisive advantage in the LN.

To be fair, she is a 'Wicked Oni'. So to speak, a 'vengeful' or 'wrathful'. So 'evil' isn't necessarily a thing. Even though earlier, they put 'evil' for her in an earlier episode. :)
Raphael had use Beezebub to try and absorb the attack. Hinata is happy to be 'defeated' without having actually killed him.
Hinata is referring to the Seven Day Clergy (The funky robed guys). They were also the guys who gave her to sword, which is the sword that tried to kill Rimuru.
Ok, so... a few things... The way you understand some things is some times so off it is funny. There were 2 major example of this this episode.
1- The mistake Hinata is trying to rectify is indeed bothering Rimuru, but her way of making up for it isn't bothering him, it's just what ended up happening because of outside forces. She wanted to talk to him but couldn't because of the battle, so she chose to beat him and prove herself by letting him live and discussing with him, giving him what she thought he wanted with the duel and what she wanted with a discution. That's the second biggest misunderstanding in this episode from you.
2- The biggest misunderstanding by far is you analogy with the keys when she talked about Shizu. She's talking about being afraid of losing her, so she chose to leave and you equate that to being afraid to lose your keys, so you throw them out the window? That's the exact opposite of what she meant. What she meant was that Shizu was already having a hard time controling Efrit, so she was bound to die soon and be control by the spirit, so instead of losing her that way, which would hurt more than she could endure, she left on her own, saying goodbye to a still living, still sane, still healthy Shizu. A better annalogy would be a dog suffering from an inoperable cancer. You can keep your dog all of it's natural life, making him suffer for the last few months something almost unbearable or you could euthanise it, saying goodbye when it still have a good life free of too much suffering. In my opinion, the second option would be best because it would go happier than through pain, which is kind of what Hinata did in a way. She couldn't euthanise Shizu, so she parted way to keep the best possible image of her mentor in her mind, something thatwould help her fight Efrit once it was released, something what would have been harder if she saw Shizu transform in front of her.

It's only natural that we have more of the calm episodes with talking only. Rimuru is no longer the head of a small village, he is the ruler of an entire country. And now government affairs and intrigue require a lot of time. I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the main theme of the series, with some action thrown in at times.
They could have made this whole episode 2 episode if they included Benimaru, Soei and 2 of the beaskateers fight.
It's unfortunate how much is left out that was in the novels. However, you need to pay more attention and not just look our for... honkers... The events will only get more complex from here on out.
This episode was both underwhelming and satisfying. Thankfully we're only at episode 8. You could say this fight happened for just one reason to show how powerful Rimuru's gotten, which it did reasonably well I'd say. And the conclusion is also still left.
Ok as of right now, in this episode, rimiru used beazelbith to consume hinata's attack. However the consumption of the move caused beazelbuth to be "sacroficed" whatever that means. Raphael is acting a little sus at the end, will jave to see next week what's going on with that.

Hinata is a Hero (I think) and the last Hero we heard about was able to seal Veldora away for over 300 years and he's possibly the most powerful being around in the whole show, so no one is gonna just walk through her.
Using the Ultimate version of Gluttony to suck up her last attack ended up destroying it... and that's all I can say currently (though it looks like others blabbed on more and dropped minor spoilers). Also aren't you happy it didn't end in yet another meeting, hmmmmmm? 😏

Rafael said that it was imposible to defend or dodge the atack, so the only posible way to avoid death was to "eat" the atack with belthebub, however, this would result in the permanent loss of belthebub. Rimuru, trusting Rafael's calculations, agreed to the sacrifice regreting how sad it was to loose such a usefull skill, that had acompanied him for so long.
Later, when hinata said how crazy he was for taking it head on, Rimuru is confused, thinking that the atack was unavoidable, but he senses that Rafael is hiding somehting...
Even Hinata didn't sacrifice herself to defend rimuru. Rimuru will not die with that attack.

1- "why is hinata happy?"
I think she fought that rimuru wants to challange her, so that is her reaction after blowing her last resort and being negated with no visually difficult... it is like she is saying "there is nothing that I can do, I surrender"
2- "what rimuru do with Beelzebub ?"
If we remember in the rimuru's ascension to demon lord, great sage sacrificed some skills (like merciless) to get the ultimate skills ... in this case, my guess is that raphael can sacrifice skills as well to somehow nulify an enimy skill ... that is what I can observe of it
The confusion of rimuru with raphael is that he believes blindly in raphael's observations and informations ... but the raphael reactions when rimuru says "if raphael-sensei says so it should be true" or "who would get hit by that dangerous thing on purpose?", it seems that raphael don't has enough knowleged to understand and properly react to hinata's skills ... so maybe when raphael says that the barrier would be broken with her sword (21:34), it does not have 100% trust in its own observation ... same as the "indefensible and unavoidable" (26:26)
just my guesses ... raphael seems to have a lot of pride in its knowledge it'll be hard to admit that it does not have 100% truste in her observations
Quick explenation of the skill sacrifice part.
The skills sacrificed to gain a new skill during the awakening festival aren't really sacrificed per se. They are more like mixed together to create a better skill, yet the proprieties of those lesser skills still exist in those ultimate skills. Think of it like crafting in Minecraft. You have 3 diamonds and a few sticks. You could craft a pickaxe with all those resources. You don't have those resources anymore, but you gained a new tool that has their characteristics
Merciless was sacrificed into Gluttony to make Belzeebub. Gluttony absorbs energy, matter, etc. Merciless was used to extract the souls of those that lost their will to fight. Now Belzeebub, the mix between those 2, can absorb all the things Gluttony could, but can now also absorb the souls, while ignoring the "must have lost their will to fight" condition of Merciless. It just needs to eat the target. Yeah, it's MUCH easier if the target lost it's will, but it can still do it.
Degenerate was sacrificed into Great Sage. Degenerate was used to split and mix skills that would normally not he that compatible with each other. Now Raphael, a better version of Great Sage, can mix and match skills, but can now also analyze enemies like Great sage could, and develop proper countermeasures if the info is enough.
Onto the sacrifice of Belzeebub. No, you don't sacrifice skills to turn of enemy skills. Rimuru and Raphael activated Belzeebub and ate the Melt Slash. But with Melt Slash being so insanely powerful (straight up higher tier of erasure then Disintegration), Belzeebub couldn't withstand it and the skill was destroyed. Basically, the skill was used as a shield to soften the blow, but was destroyed in the process. The whole thing wiped ~70% of Rimuru's magicules, and a lot of skills became unresponsive, including Raphael, for some time. Makes sense. Ultimate skills are stored in the soul of a being. Rimuru basically just had an attack wipe information as a concept from his soul. Plus he was also weakened physically and very dizzy. The anime fails to show all of this, being just a more surface level presentation of what happened. Which kinda made me a bit disappointed.
The fight between Rimuru and Hinata was longer and more difficult. Even after getting Future Attack Prediction, Hinata still was a threat. I really liked how they described her legendary sword in the novels. Said that bringing such a weapon was akin to bringing a machine gun to a swordfight. Basically using an RPG for self defense. Even taking out such weapons in public is dangerous for the entire said of the town.
A bit more about that last part with Raphael. Oh, Raphael's very certain in it's calculations, and Rimuru's very certain and trusting of Raphael, but...Raphael stared developing an ego. How much trust can Rimuru have in a skill that has its own plans?
A bit of a spoiler: Raphael told Rimuru to to face tank the Melt Slash and sacrifice Belzeebub on purpose. What kind of skill puts it's master in the line of fire of a powerful technique and makes him sacrifice one of his most powerful abilities?

Don't know if you've seen it, but there was a special episode from Veldora's perspective regarding the events of season 2. Namely, Rimuru's evolution. Raphael went inside the storage space where Veldora and Ifrit were being kept.
Veldora immediately recognized Raphael, by name, when it made it's presence know inside Rimuru's stomach, and he addressed it as -sama. To quote Veldora: "My instincts are telling me that I must not to defy *this* *one* "
Raphael said: I am convinced that the individual named Veldora has been slacking off too much. New order, aquire an ultimate skill immediately. I have forced your calculation domain to expand.
After Raphael left, Veldora said: Since she's not asking if I can do it, I guess she's just ordering me to do it. I suppose I have no choice.
And keep in mind this was fresh after evolution. Rimuru's didn't woke up yet
