This season already hasn’t disappointed. I don’t think I’ve laughed, cried or screamed this hard in a while, absolutely not prepared for the remaining episodes of the season.
Love how they literally just pimped out the Swede. Hope you are happy my guy.

OFMD is fiction loosely inspired by history rather than historical fiction, but historical Edward Teach did shoot historical Israel Hands in the leg.
Nat Faxon who played the Swede is incredibly busy as an actor and writer so his part in the show was reduced but he’ll be back

Izzy is my absolute new favorite this season. The way he loves and protects his crew by directing the worst of Ed at himself. I think you are really going to love the direction they take him this season.
Sameee. Always found that man the most hilarious "serious guy tired of silliness" character and seeing him in this direction is great. It went from silliness to atrocities and he can NOT handle it sjdfhkshdgkjsk

When I realized that Izzy has now told Ed he loves him and Stede hasn’t… OH MY HEART 😭
I have had a conversation like that where I told a friend who was hurting that I loved him and he reacted angrily in that “oh fuck off” way Ed did to Izzy. That scene hits me hard. Weeks later that friend would tell me we were never friends and he never cared about me and he didn’t want to hear shit like that from me because I wasn’t anyone to him.
There is SO MUCH PAIN in those two and I hate how people will give Ed a pass and call him Babygirl and pet his head like he’s a child who never did anything wrong but act like Izzy is an unforgivable villain who can’t be redeemed because he hurt people.
Thissss. Stede Ed and Izzy are all pretty bad people but all very redeemable. That being said I'm going to grapple a lot with forgiving Ed because he's the only one of them who's physically abused someone.

legitimately all of this freaking happened because Isreal POS Hands couldnt leave Stede and Ed alone to figure themselves out and LITERALLY
FREAKING ....LITERALLY pushed Edward Teach BACK into his Blackbeard title without any care to Ed. "Fuck Ed who cares about Eds happiness. He need to gwt out of his ass and stop being a horrible twat singing and wearing velveteen robes". Thats freaking Izzy
He constantly begged wished and pleaded for BLACKBEARD fierce awful kill anyone blackbeard!
Izzy constantly put everyone on the ship down trying to abuse them. Constantly kept being icked by gay stuff happening. Always feeling literally Disgusted at Ed's happiness with Stede. Scandalized by thr idea Ed liked to be pampered a bit for once and to get to relax. Hatrd so much by the crew the one time he was in charge the abusive hway he wanted. The whole crew voted to mutiny and kill him and actually was abt to do it. Unlike stede.
He wanted the low down awful abusive dark and murderous Blackbeard. And he was literally HAPPY that Blackbeard cut off his toe and made him eat it. And ecstatic tht Blackbeard had come back into himself. But he was wrong
Izzy literally was one of the main instigators of not only all of the conflict tht lead to tht scene on the dock. (Selling them out to soanish jackie, various others and then when he couldnt get his way. Sold them out to thr royalty.)
And even after all tht instead of Izzy letting Edward feel his damn emotions and make nice with Stedes crew to hopefully help him deal with it. He literally spat on and screwed the last bit of sanity out of Ed until he went back to Blackbeard VIOLENTLY.
Stedes crew could maybe had even facilitate getting him and stede back together to talk to each other. Stede has a lot to apologize for. But it was all instigated by Chauncy dragging him drunkenly out of bed and mentally tearing Stedes insecurities apart until he panicked. Thinking he was ruining Ed and his family. And to stede he could help Ed by getting away and go and help his legal family and check on them.
But no instead Izzy once again came in to have HIS OWN way. To care only abt HIS OWN feelings. Fuck Eds feelings, fuck Stedes feelings. Nono only Izzys feelings and how he feels abt this crew and Stede and Ed matters.
And Now. Ohohohoho fucking hell NOW. That he is reaping thr consequences of his own actions. Picking apart at Ed especially until what lil of his sanity tht he was grabbing onto with Stede gone and supposedly betraying him, and maybe even thinking Stede had tricked and lied to him abt leaving together. Just absolutely burnt tht last sanity to shreds.
Now tht Blackbeard (not ed he was never allowed to be Ed, only Stede let him do that)
Now that Blackbeard is rightfully and violently taking out his anger on Izzy, just like the weird freaking toxic sadistic AND masochistic bastard wanted, Hes friggin upset about it.
And to top it all off. TO TOP IT ALL OFF. IZZY THEN HAS THE AUDACITY TO CONFESS HIS LOVE AFTER CONDEMNING BLACKBEARD FOR FEELING IT FOR ALLLLL OF SEASON ONE.
HE WANTS TO FRIGGIN CRY ABOUT IT!?!
AND YOU PEOPLE THINK THT ED AND STEDE WERE ANYWHERE NEAR AS TOXIC AS IZZY THAT THEIR THE SAME LEVEL

Im not saying he deserved to be tortured. (Friggin killed maybe). And not saying Blackbeard hadnt done some horrible things prolly in his past. But we are talking abt the present of the show. And Izzy.... he is LITERALLY eating the cake he made and laying in the grave he dug and signed. =.= there is no way. That one in anyway equates Stede and Ed to the same level of assholery that is Isreal Dizzy Hands.
How could Anyone see the same show and not notice the utter toxicity tht is Izzy :/

The only really nice thing is at least Izzy seems to be taking it like a champ. He knows he pushed Ed into this. And is seemingly lookin like hes taking thr brunt of it for the rest of the crew. But just geeze.
The biggest image i have of his hypocrisy. Is the "Talk it through" he suggested. Knowing thats somwthing Stede does and tht he condemned Stede for.
Bringing up that he loves Edward knowing full well he made fun of Ed having feelings for Stede before. Also making fun of Ed having feelins period.
Lastly, bringing up he knows hes loony because of Stede. Both a good and bad. Good in tht he said it so the crew didnt have to. And Bad cuz he knws full well. Hes the one tht hammered tht last 2 nails into the coffin starting the spiral tht led to this whole issue. (1 - selling thrm out to the royals, and 2 - stopping edward away from actually feeling his depression and coping. Pushing him toward his more violent pirate self and Shoving him headfirst into Blackbeard tht led to EXTREME uptick in violence and insanity on Blackbeards part .....its just.....fucking sad....is what it is. Just really really sad.

He didn't push Ed into this and saying he did is kind of gross. Izzy told Ed to go back to being Blackbeard. Blackbeard had never taken Izzy's toes before, had he? Thus we can be pretty sure that no, he wasn't like this in his past. Izzy was asking him to return to that past.
Besides, even IF Izzy had somehow caused it, Edward had no right to lash out at the rest of the crew. Marooning them, kidnapping them, trying to get them killed, threatening them at gunpoint... Like no, your friend telling you something kind of shitty is not an excuse to be an abusive asshole.

Yea no Eds lost his bloody marbles for sure i mean id seen ep 2 and thts a bit to far for me for izzy. Id rather just throw him overboard. but Izzy rlly did push him into this.
In the season finale. Ed was literally just being sad and expressing it healthily and Izzy kept pushing him. Like he always had. Pushing him toward blackbeard even tho ed made it clear he didnt want tht. Had been trying to say tht even before Stede.
Even before Stede Izzy had been pushing Ed back to blackbeard. Never caring abt the human side. The fact that Ed was trying to change a little. He hated Blackbeard "Going Soft" and constantly called him a Twat and made fun of Eds happiness. Even telling him at the end of the final season how he found how Ed being (Aka rightfully upset sad and heartbroken + singing in a sweet psh robe with the crew and expressing his sadness in a hwalthy way) was a fate worse then death itself.
When Ed slid back into blackbeard it was after all tht prodding and pushi g the sadness into anger and wanting something else to get rid of tht heartache.
After all if he couldnt express it that way then why not go back to blackbeard. But Blackbeard..... is very different. He is heartbroken and angry. Now :real pirating" and "extreme control" being his only outlets. He doesnt just walk back into the role he dives head first into the deep end. Way past his former limits.
Izzy was even happy the first time Blackbeard fed him one of his toes. (The first time) and ectstatically exclaimed Blackbeard was back.
Izzy was not just one but MULTIPLE catalysts including the final one tht pushed Ed back into blackbeard. Who then took it way to far as his now "Only" coping mechanism.
So yes.
Izzy caused this. In so many ways. Izzy was a ticking time bomb in a slow acting way. Maybe he didnt even realize how toxic he was.
Bjt tht last nail for me was him using Stedes phrase he made fun of him for "Talk it through" and having the audacity to confess his love for Edward. After being the reason they ended up in the army and broke apart in the first place. After always wanting to be in the way of them and making fun of Blackbeard having feelings....then he he confesses to him??? After all that........ its just.. so wild.
I dont think izzy deserved that horribly but i cant feel to bad either knowing he was one of the root causes for this.
Please you have to watch the series Good Omens, if you like Supernatural you will like Good Omens, and I'm sure you will love the most beloved angel and demon couple in the world. A hug from Brazil.

The Pirate Queen, Zheng Yi Sao, is based from a real person! She's one of the richest and most succesful pirates in history and owned 400 ships at her peak. She was also one of the very few pirates to get to live until old age and retired from piracy well-endowed as a gambling house owner. Truly an icon, I can't wait to see what's in store for her in the show!
I literally screamed when I found out that’s who she was. She’s one of my favorite historical figures.
What's wild is that most of the characters are real and roughly based on historical figures. Izzy Hands, Edward Teach/Blackbeard, Stede Bonnet the Gentleman Pirate.

A few other historical pirates are mentioned, and IIRC Spanish Jackie draws on some legendary figures who may or may not have existed.
The post credits scenes these episodes were great. And I went from hating Izzy in season 1, to wanting to give him a hug in a matter of minutes.

Jokes aside I love the beginning, because it's exactly what the kind of naive fans who mostly care about the shipping and not the show think should happen. Everything is Izzy's fault and Ed and Stede reconcile immediately and don't have to mature as people before entering a relationship.
But the show shuts it down. Izzy is the one who calls Stede out on his bullshit in the scene. He's not the only one who hurt Ed. Ed and Stede will need to work on themselves before they're ever going to be ready for a functional relationship, and Izzy deserves much better than to be killed like a one-dimensional villain.

I’m new to your channel and of course it’s because you’re watching OFMD! So far this season is just wonderful. I think a lot of people think this is going to be Izzy’s redemption arc but I’m not so sure yet. He did lie to Stede about what happened to Blackbeard but he also thanked Stede for rescuing them. I also must be the only person on planet earth that didn’t know that Izzy loved Blackbeard lol. We’ll see how Izzy does this season. I’m excited to watch this with you. I really enjoyed your reaction and commentary!

I mean, he definitely lied to Stede because he wanted to spare his feelings. I think they all assumed Blackbeard was dead when they stashed him away, or at least as good as dead.

I knew. I knew there was a reason I couldn't bring myself to hate Izzy in season 1, and now it's cemented. Izzy is, in many ways, similar to Pearl from Steven Universe, especially in their tortured, unrequited love to people in love with others. Like Pearl in Steven Universe, he's my new favorite character. My heart screamed for him in his pain at being mentally and physically abused by the man he loves. And the way the crew all converged around him to comfort him and give him a safe space to be vulnerable... ARGH! OH GOD! 😭😭😭 Izzy Hands has my heart now. I don't make the rules.
Is it crazy that part of me is hoping for Steddy Hands (Ed x Izzy x Stede) to become canon? A larger part of me is certain it won't happen, that they'll stick to Gentlebeard (Ed x Stede) as the main romance while giving Izzy something else, but that stubborn part of me wanting Steddy Hands has been awakened and will not shut up. Cause I can see how it could happen, the show and the trailers are showing me how it could happen. They're already introducing the possibility of poly relationships with Jim and Oluwande's storyline, the scenes between Izzy and Stede shown in trailers speak volumes... hell, the fact that Izzy hasn't left The Revenge speaks miles of his continued feelings for Ed despite everything. And I do believe Ed's reaction to Izzy next episode (no spoilers) also says a lot about his own feelings towards his "former" first mate. It would take a hell of a lot of work, especially given how Ed treats Izzy these past 3 episodes, but it's not completely out of the realm of possibility. My stubborn side is definitely going to hold onto that, whether I want to or not.

Quick question: have you watched Interview With the Vampire, or are you considering watching it? I started it last Sunday and watched it in 2 days, and it would've been faster if I hadn't had to go to sleep and work on Monday. I think you would like it and would definitely have plenty of things to scream about because there is so much going on and you will be questioning everything by the end!
