- In this (sometimes) series, we'll look at NIMBY Rails and cover how to play the game, as well as some tips and tricks for new players. This first episode involves setting up our initial line as well as some tips for how to start your own game.
Don't tell people not to subscribe to your channel. Even if your next video doesn't come out for a year, I might want to know about it. I'm subscribing out of protest.
@@JordanLeDoux take your time and have fun. It was just surprising to hear someone say "don't subscribe" at the beginning of a video. Then by the end, your video had completely changed my gameplay and I'm like, how can I not subscribe? Even without a regular schedule, your videos will just be happy surprises.

Really nice, calm video. I enjoyed the local flavour, talking about the places where you were building. The little explanations for non-Americans were very thoughtful of you.

Just one question - How did you know from the start that the loan amount was insufficient?
Mostly trial and error. All of the things that I'm explaining I discovered through playing the game and paying attention to what worked and what didn't.

i'm from seattle and lived in portland for a few years right at the bottom of Mt. Tabor. i used to take the amtrak between the two cities all the time and it's such a wonderful ride. i so desperately wish we had more rail in the US.

I bought it to make one in detroit and tampa! (weird combination, ik, but ive lived in both and i want to satisfy my longing for public transport in both 😭)

3 years late so you probably won't see this but I LOVE how you cater to non-American audiences in this video. About 95% of the time, Americans only cater to Americans with their videos. I think it's really nice of you to mention things like 'this is not the Hollywood you're familiar with'. I'm sure most people outside of the US know that, but I'm sure some don't as well.
P.S. I think it's kinda sad that I have ended up knowing more about places in the US than in the UK or New Zealand (grew up in Wales, now living in New Zealand). I guess that's what being born in the 2000s and growing up with the internet does to ya. America is the default, the rest of the world is other...

One Thing that I found not very clear: You said the only thing where platforms can cross are Underground Stations, because it's the only thing which is considered at a different level. I wonder if you can build a Viaduct Station crossing a Ground station, because viaduct would be higher then Ground?

Ah, Pac NW is the area I live in. I bought the game today and started in Tacoma. Question: Does the game actually take ROW into account? That is super interesting and surprising if so. Or are you just playing the game in a realistic fashion?

Yeah I agree. But there is talk about moving the red and blue line underground in the downtown area. Nothing official but talked about. I wouldn't be surprised that it happens within the decade

How many of you guys want a better animation in this game?
Thank you for tutorials. I've setup an underground metro system, but my problem lies with scheduling. The scheduling system seems glitchy. I want all trains to stop at 23.00 hrs and go to their assigned depots, but they continue running even after 23.00 hours (24/7). Perhaps I'm doing something wrong...?
I wish they added monorail (or buses) to this!

It didn't work for me after I purchased a train cause of the new updates or something, there was nothing to pick it to a line. Please update ur tutorials I'm begging
