    The black wheel well looks infinitely better. Thanks for this

      Your welcome. The white painted wheel wells were driving me crazy. They stayed super dirty all the time and were near impossible to get clean. Thanks for watching!

      @@MattFreytag what up bro, now that it's been a couple years would you still recommend using that Rust-Oleum undercoating pro or recommend something else? Thanks for the video

    This is exactly what I wanted to see. Excellent video, right to the point. Thanks. I’ll be doing this to my truck this weekend.

      Awesome. Glad I could help. It’s definitely a game changer. I don’t know why Chevy doesn’t make them black from the factory. Thanks for watching. Good luck on your project.

    Just bought a 2022 2500hd. It's white too and i hate the white wheelwell in back. Left the dealer and bought some of this! Great video! Thanks.

      Cool man. I would definitely use a higher end product than this one. Its good for wheel wells but not sure if it would last in the sun

    I've bn thinkn bout getn a pair of those plastic rear wheel liners ; but after seeing ur video ; I jus mite giv this a shot..It's a whole lot cheaper... It'll make the rear wheel wells look better.... I hav a white truck too

    • @MattFreytag
      @MattFreytag  Před 2 lety

      Awesome dude. I would definitely try this first. It still looks great on my truck with minimal rock chips. Thanks for watching.

    You can't get a liner for the dually rear fenders, unfortunately. I don't understand why general motor does not paint the wheel well black or put a liner in there. You did the right thing. It looks great and you did a nice job. Great video.

    Maybe swap out to wheel to wheel step bar and a retractable hard tonneau cover?

    • @MattFreytag
      @MattFreytag  Před 2 lety

      I’ve definitely been wanting different step bars and I just installed a bed liner and rubber mat in the back. I’m to cheap to buy a cover. Lol.

    I was thinking of doing the exact same thing to my truck. How has it held up since you applied the spray? What kind of driving to you do (city, country, highway)?

    • @MattFreytag
      @MattFreytag  Před 2 lety +1

      Actually I haven’t washed the truck since then. Lol. It’s been rainy here and the job sites are dirty but it has definitely held up as far as not chipping or peeling away. I would recommend it for sure

    why didn't you remove the rear wheels for better access? mud? no one I've seen with a lifted truck drives it through mud. they are all too shiny and have all sorts of underglow (in the wheels too) and rock lights. Like in case they drop some change under the truck, they don't need a flashlight to find it... 🤔

    • @MattFreytag
      @MattFreytag  Před 9 měsíci

      This is a work truck! It pulls machines and trailers on to Job sites. Always stays dirty and mud in wheel wells. Ive only wash this truck maybe 4 times.

    You almost did it right. But you decided not to take the wheel liner out and do it right

    • @MattFreytag
      @MattFreytag  Před 9 měsíci

      I have no idea what your talking about. There is no wheel liner to remove. Just welded in metal body panels.

    • @bradleystroh3649
      @bradleystroh3649 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@MattFreytag the thing you painted is considered the wheel liner it's made of fiberglass but after doing some research is the only way you can remove it is if you were to replace the box side. I work at a body shop and was struggling to try and remove it prior to doing the research

    rubberized undercoating will be the death of the truck. The stuff cracks and then the salt gets under it and corrodes the vehicle... meanwhile being invisible until the rust is really bad.

    • @MattFreytag
      @MattFreytag  Před 11 měsíci

      That sucks. hopefully I won't keep this truck long enough for that to happen

    • @K03sport
      @K03sport Před 9 měsíci

      if it cracks easily, then why is it marketed as a bed liner that sees a lot of potential to get damaged? Also, this stuff is/ahpuld be applied in multiple layers to avoid cracking. I think the wheel wells just need some primer and 3 coats of paint topped off the a matte or flat clear....
