Fun Fact: In the Aztec mythology, hummingbirds are the souls of past warriors. This is believed due to the way hummingbirds duel each other for territory and mates, poking and plucking each other midair with their beaks. So yeah, Nelson was just trying to help heal a warrior before he passed.
There were some good moments on the show where Nelson actually has some good redeeming qualities. If the simpsons characters would grow up, I'd like to think he'd become a better person 😂

I know it's a cartoon and all. But I find it sweet the way Nelson looked after that hummingbird, it's those little snippets of him that the creators put in that make me actually like his character. If he was just a bully and no soft side I would've hated his character still to this day
Nelson is a bully, Bart and Lisa are cyber bullies, and the other kids are laughing at someone else's poverty/sensitivity. What does this teach us? That all of these children are terrible.
I've taken in and fed injured wild birds in the past and sometimes they dont survive.. from the shock to their system.. had more get better and released.. i once had a crow that got attacked by a cat, it took it about two momths to get it fully mended and then when it could fly again I picked it up and set it on the open window and it sat there just staring at me for like five or ten minutes like really staring moving its head around to get a good look at me before flying off.. actually there was a baby bird/starling that a magpie tried to steal from its nest like a week ago and dropped it in my front garden so i wenr to the shops and got some mealworms and seed mix and set it outside near it.. still got like half a bag of each but i wont be taking that in because the mother bird is still landing in the front garden and feeding it.. also I have two cats and i dont currently have a room safe and set up for a bird since moving house..
If you feed hummingbirds, use the super processed clean sugar, not the 'sugar in the raw'. Sugar in the raw has minerals in quantities that are good for us, but poisonous for hummingbirds.
