Ocean View Panoramic Suite 1854 | Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas

  • This has to be my absolute favorite stateroom for families on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas! It is not the "family suite" you might find on an Oasis class ship but it specifically designed with families in mind. With the ability to comfortably sleep 6, a bunk bed room, and 1.5 bathrooms, you will not be in each other's way! If you are thinking about getting 2 adjoining rooms to accommodate children, you have to consider this one room! Price wise, it could be very similar but with all the perks of a suite.
    There are only 2 Ocean View Panoramic Suites located on deck 12 at the VERY front of the ship on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas. Other ships might be a different level but the room is the same.

    Great options for families. I would struggle with a suite with no balcony but just my preference. Enjoy your cruise!

    My husband and I are booked in that room on Independence in September. I am so excited. I love the staterooms on deck 12 but this is my first time staying in a suite.

    Having that extra toilet for more than 2 people is a must! The top bunk is definately for a toddler. Any bigger than that, if they sit up, they'll clunk their head off the ceiling! Perfect for a family with little ones. I will say when I was on the Harmony at the beginning of the month (that's when we had that bad storm and lost internet for a day), I had an ocean view room on deck 9 in the front of the ship, and it was quiet and I didn't feel the ship move at all. I always tend to book rooms in the front of the ship though. No motion sickness issues.

      That is very good to hear! If traveling with more than 2 people, that extra bathroom is priceless.

    That’s a great room. We stayed in a grande suite 1598. It was a one bedroom Grande Suite and the first time we’ve stayed in a suite. It was perfect, we had our 10 month old son and room was large enough and still comfortable. The bath was a plus, deck 10 was a great view and the room was large enough to store his stroller and prepare his meals/formula.

      Yes, the grand suite is plenty big! Plenty of space to spread out there! The balcony on a grand is top notch too!

    After over 20 years of Cruising I am trying out some 4-day RC Cruises for a more frequent break. Also, I am booking longer 6 day Cruises that only use one weekend. Plus, I have bid using the Royal Up program for my August, Freedom of the Seas Cruise. I have the same challenge being mostly a solo cruiser. Living in South Florida for over 23 years with just over two hour drives to Fort Lauderdale and Miami Ports helps keep the costs down. The Freedom of the Seas was my first RC Ship well before the amplification.

      The 4 night cruises that leave on Thursday are my absolute favorite! They used to have the Empress going to Key West on Friday, Cococay, and Nassau which I LOVED! Celebrity has a few similar itineraries next year I am going to try to make. Playing the solo game is always tough.

    Thank you for including family info on your channel and for another great video. 1 and a half bathrooms is awesome. However, we really enjoy having a balcony. What do you think is the best family "sky" level suite with a balcony for a family of 3?

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Brent, totally get that! If only 3, I would say go for a gand suite. You don't need all the bells and whistles of separate rooms and will be plenty big! Though, if your budget can afford it, Crown Loft Suite is my favorite on Oasis class!

    @rebeccamaloney2255 Před 2 lety +1

    Great tour; thank you. Can I ask what you noticed about motion in this cabin? I know high deck and forward is not great, but did the large view help counteract that?

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  Před 2 lety

      Hey Rebecca, in going to the Bahamas on a ship, you rarely encounter an unfriendly ocean with larger waves. There was no movement in the cabin but if you are in more intense environments, you would feel it more than other sections.

      @TheWeekendCruiser  Před 2 lety

      Hey Ted! My mom does silver sneakers at the local Y! I am very familiar with their offerings. The only class I would recommend is the Zumba classes that are often. The key, is to just move at your own pace knowing it is going to be more than what you are used to. Not really a lot of options.

      Packing cubes! Especially if you're going on a 7 night cruise. There are videos here on you tube on how to roll up your clothes and you'll be amazed how much they hold! I'm hooked on them now. Also magnet hooks for the walls to hang stuff on (the walls are made of metal), travel hamper for dirty clothes, and over the door organizer. I also got a magnetic white board that I put on the wall to communicate with my room attendant. All purchased on Amazon. You can store your suitcases under the bed!

      This ship is still a 2009 build, very different time. Disney rooms do come with the standard 1.5 bathroom which are amazing. However, Disney also comes at a much higher price point. They do an excellent job but they charge you for it ;-)

      @@TheWeekendCruiser but the Disney Wonder (1999) and Magic (1997) are older ships and their suits are even better. The old saying is " You Get What You Pay For " and Disney is far above the other cruise lines. They also don't nickel and dime you to death.
