    Excellent comparison Paul & good points about each. I think a big part of which is better comes down to alloy design. For me the whoolies are better & I have no issues cleaning between the spokes, behind them or the barrels of the alloys I clean. If you have tighter design alloys though I can see the EZ being the better option.
    Only thing I'd say is worth highlighting is the EZ won't last as long as the whoolies & they definitely do inflict more scratches/marring, especially on gloss black alloys. They will dull the finish over time. I also dislike the splash back from the EZ, that is a big reason why I prefer the Whoolies over the EZ.

    • @PaulDoldenDetails
      @PaulDoldenDetails  Před 4 lety +1

      Brian Woods superb points Brian I should have point out the splash back problem my top tip for that is use a wheel shampoo or just shampoo to coat the brushes that limits wet paints syndrome and possibly over time the dull effect could be marring from a combination of brake dust and the EZs

    • @BrianW1612
      @BrianW1612 Před 4 lety +1

      @@PaulDoldenDetails 100% agree. Another little tip for uncoated alloys... pre treat them like you would the paint with a 1:5 mix of APC/alkaline wheel cleaner & pressure rinse. Will remove a lot more dirt after the initial pressure washer rinse & help reduce scratching with the EZ/Whoolies. For any gloss finish alloys without a coating I always clean this way 👍
      Keep the good vids coming Paul 👌

    Good review Paul. I started out with the big EZ brush - a great bit of kit apart from the product splatter, the rubber tip going AWOL and the handle eventually breaking. I'm on my 3rd one in 9 years. 😃 Bought a set of Wheel Woolies this year and like them but the EZ still gets in the tight spots better.

    I think wheel woolies clean really well. I personally use EZ brushes because they fit better in my wheels and they clean really well arches. However, I dislike the EZ brushes splatter... I think both have their place. I would use wheel woolies for more delicate wheels or gloss black wheels. They seem a safer option.

    I have both the EZ Detail brush and the Wheel Woolies. The Wheel Woolies are great and definitely softer but I find that they are too large to fit behind the brake disc on most cars. The EZ Detail brushes don't have the same problem and you can get to the back of the wheel much easier.

    EZ large brush all the way. Used with Garage Therapy wheel cleaner and a brush pre-sprayed with APC and it foams up just nice. When all wheels are done I tend to use what's left in the bucket and go round all the arches with the dreaded sponge as i find i can get around most of the wheel arch by hand without the need for the bog brush. Great vid and informative as always.

    I’d say the EZ ones will be better for wheels that need a bit more of a “bite” to clean them. I like how they can clean behind the spokes nicely, too👍🏻
    Wheel Woolies seem to me more for the delicate finishes/wheels (although the EZ ones aren’t tough!) especially if the wheels are ceramic coated. As the material will hold plenty of wheel shampoo for cleaning. Just my thoughts👍🏻

    I use the Long handled (yes there is a long handle option as well) Wheel woolies mainly because my rear wheels are 11" deep and i can get right to the back of the barrel with them, also the mid size woolie is handy for cleaning the barrel where the disk caliper gets close to the wheel..like you though i find the small one not very useful, as a regulalr brush does all the lug nut holes and tricky bits.

    So so so many puns this week Paul I just wouldn't know where to start! Anyway, great review. I bought the EZ brush based on your recommendation and loved - cleans my rim up nicely (couldn't resist!) - not sure about woolies. Lot of £ for occasional use. But never say never!

    good video Paul, EZ brushes all day long (+Tuf shine for tyres), though interested in seeing the new Meguiar's ones, more like the Woolies.

    Paul do you not find the EZ brushes are a bit harsh and leave microscratches. Especially noticeable on black alloys

      nicky chavda once again I’m convinced it’s actually the brake dust that does the damage because the bristles are soft

      I’m finding same thing,but how do you remove brake dust that’s stubborn and won’t come off with jet wash before you tackle it with your ez brush’s ?

      Providing the lube is there with the shampoo you should be safe or if not try a strong wheel cleaner acid FREE allow to dwell then power wash off
