@Naz98 Projector owners (like this channel) are typically accustomed, to screen sizes of 100+ inches. So 75 inches and under is definitely a smaller display, relatively speaking.
probably not realistic, the analog film got scanned, then everything got digitally adjusted to look the same etc. and you have also probably lots of non visible smaller CGI. Also it´s anamorphic 35mm. So 1,33:1 stretched later to 2,35:1 or 2,40:1. The 2k DI would have a resolution of 2048x1536, so you loose half the pixels at the HD-Bluray (2,35:1 1920x816p) and have a big vertical pixel increase for the 4k Disc (2,40:1 3840x1600p), when the pixels get stretched from 1,33:1 to 2,40:1 at the very end on the tv or home cinema screen.
Before I even watch I'm just letting you know I'm excited to get your opinion on it because you are the top reviewer for 4K blu-rays in my opinion and I'm getting a lot of conflicting reports from the people I follow in your absence
Im gonna guess he accidently changed his picture settings or his tv isnt properly calibrated for hdr because no review has mentioned a dimmer image over the original blu ray.
@@PinkoJack that's what I thought when he said that, HDR settings messed up, also I don't think he even uses an OLED for his reviews I think it's one of the last years Sony Led models, Also just yesterday I watched a review from a different guy with like 17k subs talking about how BAD the sound on THE THING in 4k was , it sounded like he didn't even have proper Atmos DTS X set up to begin with ,and the guy does reviews on CZcams , many people decide whether they should buy a disc based on their reviews... Why do you hate Tarantino Is Shane is the guy who makes the reviews? If so, he does seem knowledgeable, and I enjoy listening to him, but he does say some weird stuff. Like, he still has not made a full-blown review about LotR. Like, you would expect that a trilogy that won 17 Oscars + a couple of nominations would be pretty high up his list of priorities. But no. I've heard it's just the 2k scan from the blu ray upscaled and the audio is the same as the blu ray also all the extras are a carbon copy, why haven't they done a rescan from the 35mm in 2160p?
I take it you haven't actually seen it. And what does it matter if it's a 2k di? So many of the best looking movies have 2k DI's. If you like the movie then buy it. You won't be disappointed.
No I've not seen the 4k yet, I have the blu ray so hesitant to drop the coin on the same scan as the blu looks good on my oled as it is so if there isn't much difference I'm struggling to make a decision

Hmm, just preordered again. I cancelled because of Films at Home but due how vastly different the review results are from his, and how cynical and overly negative his Hocus Pocus 4K review was (it was beautiful imo), I think I’ll preorder anyway. Besides, I’ve never owned the blu ray
@@therealshanelee that’s great, I’m happy to hear that. Films at home also dunked on the Shrek 4K blu ray and I loved that to death too so now im hopeful for this one 👍

@@luisgalarza4397 I am now on 2 videos and 3 written reviews and films at home has been by far and away the most negative. I was never cancelling my pre order (zavvi steel ftw) but I was somewhat disheartened when I watched films at homes review. But now I am getting such mixed reviews, its odd.
This is a good transfer in my opinion. It looks sharper and brighter than the 1080p bluray. I think the negative reviews are due to different set-up and preference.

Really hoping for Kill Bill 4K release soon!!
I agree. I’m probably guessing it’s picture quality will be Upscaled 4K since it has a 2K DI. Also hoping for a new Dolby Atmos or DTS:X sound mix.
Thanks for the review. Would have been nice if the studio did a rescan of the original negatives into a 4K DI

On my OLED tv, it looks much better then BD version, sharpness is the same, but black level and shadow details are much much better
Darn, my Amazon pre order got delayed into oblivion, not supposed to come until October 27th now :(
Are they any difference between 4k blu rays and 4k steelbook edition or it’s just the case and artwork with same 4k disc
Films At Home said the HDR sucked and was too dark. He said the 4K is worse than the Blu-ray. WTF?
Exactly. I was ready to replace my blu-ray.
Never forget that films at home guy did a review of LOTR and said it was reference quality 😅

For scope films hell yes!
Not for a tv. Only when speaking of home theatres that have projectors is 75 considered small

The consensus is that it's a great looking upgrade. If you've got a crap setup then then stick to the bluray. Nothing to decide really.
