    Just for reference in case anyone needs help! I used Lily’s Sugar & Cream yarn (size 4 cotton). The first attempt came out huge so I re-did it & skipped rows 10 & 16 which came out perfect! Going to make more using Lions Brand 24/7 cotton yarn since it’s mercerized. It’s also labeled a size 4, but in my opinion it’s closer to a size 3.

    Yay I found someone who not only holds their yarn in an unconventional way, but does a yarn under after inserting the hook!
    I like the looks of this bandana and will try it later this week. Thank you!

    I tried following so many tutorials for a cute bandana and this is the first one I was able to complete because of how well Nadine explains everything!!! will be making more. I made this in size 4 acrylic and it worked well! I just did 9 rows instead of 10 in the first section of rows so it didn't come out too big. can't wait to try this with a smaller yarn like she does in the video

    What a great tutorial. I've been crocheting for a few years now, but this is probably my favorite bandana pattern. 100% Beginner friendly, the camera quality is really clear and you can see every single stitch as well as how it's made. Highly recommend if you're just starting out or if you're like me and got bored on a Sunday.

    I did 2 single crochet around each end stitch or chain 3 across the whole back and 2 single crochet in the magic circle space to even it out. It ended up looking very nice and neat. Lovely tutorial. I just bought some yarn for a different pattern for a bandana but then I found your video and I find you are much easier to understand, and the bandana you made is beautiful. So I don't know if my yarn will be too thick. It is size 4, requires a 5mm hook. Is this gonna look weird or be way too thick/hot? It's also acrylic unlike yours.

    • @Poppysmicks
      @Poppysmicks  Před rokem

      Thank you! ❤️ Using a weight 4 yarn with 5mm hook would make the Bandana a bit bigger. You could try to compensate a bit by using a smaller hook but this would make your stitches tighter and it may not drap the same way. If you still have the receipt maybe you could exchange the yarn? Hope this was helpful, let me know how it goes! 💕

    I don’t get what to do for 4-10 is it 2dc on the sides and twice at the top and then you increase by one dc for every row? Or does it stay 2dc for every row?

    • @Poppysmicks
      @Poppysmicks  Před 6 měsíci

      For rows 3-10 it increases the same way. The ch 3 at the start of each row counts as 1 dc. So technically yes, 2 dc on both sides of the row- this extend the sides and make a triangle base. In the centre ch sp in the middle of the row it's 2dc, ch1, 2dc- this creates the top point of the triangle.

    • @Poppysmicks
      @Poppysmicks  Před rokem +2

      Hi Irene! Because the pattern is a triangle, the sides will get longer too when adding more rows. You may try doing decreasing stitches so that the amount added on the sides is less. I'm not sure what type of yarn or size hook your using but if it's different, that can affect the overall size of the bandana. Hope this was helpful! 💕

      Yes, exactly! Also, if you use the same weight of yarn but bigger hook, it will be slightly bigger with looser stitches. If you use the same hook but thicker yarn it bigger with tighter stitches.

    Nice job. I know when you make your next tutorial for your beautiful patterns you will speak more loudly or turn your microphone up because my volume is on high and I can just barely hear you. And when my ads come on it’s blasting loud because my volume is all the way up. 😂😉♥️

      Thank you for letting me know! 💕 So sorry the levels are off, I'm pretty soft spoken and always assume I'm too loud 🙊 Currently working on a new crochet tutorial, (see community psot) so I'll be sure to turn up the microphone!! 📣

      I truly appreciate that you want to keep notes, but I want to save you time!
      Please note that there is a pdf pattern available that includes helpful instructions and pictures. This is a great way to keep the instructions with you when you're on the go!
      A LOT of love went into making the Sweet Pea Bandana pattern to provide clear instructions for fellow crocheters. Purchasing the pattern is a great way to support Poppymicks as an emerging business growing a collection of whimsical patterns to share with the world 🦋💕
      I'm not sure if you've heard of Ribblr? They have really cool journal feature where you can keep track of your progress and your different makes from a pattern through pictures and personal notes. This feature is also included on their mobile app!
      If you're interested, here is the link to their website: ribblr.com/pattern/sweet-pea-bandana-crochet/?
      I'm not sponsored by Ribblr. I like sharing their innovative pattern platform 😊
      But if you'd rather a PDF version of the pattern, here is the link to the Poppysmicks main shop: poppysmicks.com/products/sweet-pea-bandana-pttern

    this pattern is rather frustrating, once i get to row 11 i follow the pattern, dc into every 4th stitch and i get to the tip of the triangle but i only have 2 stitches left between the tip and the last cluster. i assumed the pdf pattern would be more detailed and include the amount of stitches that needs to be in every prior row, and it does not! im at a total loss

      Hi Casidee! Feel free to send me a message too with a picture of your Bandana. The circle at the beginning is counted as the first row. I can also send you a photo of what mine looks like. 💌

      Hello, this happened to me as well. Did you find the mistake?

    • @HappyRavenEmporium
      @HappyRavenEmporium Před rokem +1

      When I encountered this problem it was because I was placing 2 stitches in the first stitch of each row but not in the last stitch. I frogged and corrected my error and it came out just right

    VERY VERY PRETTY SCRAF. PLEASE ADJUST YOUR VOLUME. IT IS REALLY REALLY HARD TO HEAR YOUR CHANNEL.

      @Poppysmicks  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! Unfortunately, I'm not able to adjust the volume of this video now. But I will definitely make sure the volume is louder and balanced in the next one, which will be released soon! 🎀 Also, if you prefer, the written version of the pattern, (with pictures) is available at Poppysmicks.com
