    In this video we will unbox and review an air pump by one of the most reputable home grow brands, Vivosun. This hydroponic air pump features the ability to pump 950 gallons of air per and we tell you what we honestly think as we unbox this product and evaluate it in comparison to my Active Air 4 output, 237 gallon per hour air pump. There is a clear winner and the reason why is shown in this video.

    Small tip. To help with heat put all the valves open so no air is restricted. When you close a valve a tiny bit it cuases back pressure in the pump which causes heat build up.

    Hey all, I These reviews are exactly correct. I was wondering what the hell was going on with root rot. I can certainly handle the noise. I touched the chrome manifold today to add a 5th line and I couldn't believe the temperature of the manifold and half of the pump. This is exactually the issue with my temperature now (135 degrees). Absolutely crazy! I purchased it 2-3 months ago on Amazon so the return period has expired. Now I have to buy another pump (out of pocket expense) so the new purchase will be number 3 within 2 years. The first pump just didn't have the pressure I wanted. DON'T PURCHASE THIS PEOPLE - IT IS DANGEROUS!

    Useful information from you once again. I can really recommend the aquaforte pumps. The V-10 is really quiet and puts out plenty of air for four buckets at least. I'm not sure how much of a difference "more air" makes against root rot vs temperature for example. Not sure any amount of bubbles will make higher temps work at all.

    Would have been nice to know the air temp at the end of a 100’ hose, and also dropping all the hose in a 5 gallon water bucket. But it was the review I was looking for, thank you Sir.

    I need this for my fishing live bait well. If the air is that hot I am thinking I could just put some someone underneath the live bait well to keep the water cool or just add ice to the. water. What other air Oxygen machine do you recommend ?

    I run tetra whisper pumps. They are only 100gph but they are quiet and they don’t run hot at all. Also use hydrogen peroxide or hydro guard. Hydro guard will protect against root rot and the bacteria that causes it.

    I got the same pump and I noticed after putting in nutes my water within 48 hours starts to stink. I am using Advanced nutrients. I am using a chiller also. Water kept at 65. No light leak in containers either. I use separate PH down for nutes. Is this the problem? Nutes are supposedly ph perfect. Should I not add ph down?

    I think you would have probably been better off buying a more powerful water pump to get the water circulating more, although that system may be limited by the size of the pipes

    Been thinking of going hydro and been thinking a lot about how I'm going to set it up.
    This week, we had a 3 hour power blackout. It happens. Storms, cars taking down utility poles, etc.
    It suddenly occurred to that soon after (how soon, I don't know) the air pump shuts down, the plants will die from lack of air in the water.
    I'm thinking a battery, battery charger/inverter back up power for the air pump might be a good idea. The same type of set up some sump pumps are using.
    What do you guys think? Too nervous, or is that being 'smart'?

    • @HowWeedGrow
      @HowWeedGrow  Před rokem

      They’ll survive for like 6 hours without air, I leave them fully exposed when swapping the Rez. The most important and unavoidable aspect is keeping the water temps cool. The air pump creates a ton of heat and this model is terrible for that.

    • @burnerjack01
      @burnerjack01 Před rokem

      @@HowWeedGrow Hey, thanks for the reply.
      Couple of points here: Leaving the plants exposed is leaving them with air and no saturating water. They're still damp at that point so to a diminished degree, they still have O² and moisture.
      Being in a bucket of still water risks drowning, but like you said, if you've got maybe 6 hours, it seems 'do-able' as it gives a homeowner time to get a generator going.
      My other thought on the water temp is: insulate the buckets and separate the buckets from the grow space with close fitting reflective mylar bubble wrap insulation and if at all possible, place the pulp in an cool area so it's sucking in cooler air or pipe the inlet to a cool space.
      Anyway, I think your channel is the most underappreciated channel out there.
      Learning boatloads getting caught up and really like you style. Talking about the drips had me rolling! Hilarious!
      BTW, I've heard lining the buckets with 5 gallon paint bucket cheesecloth strainer bags will keep dead stuff contained and keep those return lines clear. Peace out.
