- Our last grazing pass on our warm season Eastern Gama Grass field. Isaac looks like the Pied Piper leading the cow mob into their lush grass field. We had a mile long dusty cattle drive to get the mob to their new farm.

I wouldn’t be surprised if next year the cattle eat the grass along the road first. That fresh rock dust will be a great mineral rich fertilizer that should sweeten the grass even more.
Had plenty of that this year!

Thanks for the video! You are definitely managing your grass. It cooled off here yesterday. I think high was in the 50s and this morning I think it was in the upper 30s. It was mostly in the 80s this week. I’m looking into getting a bale unroller from you this year or maybe next year. It will make feeding hay and moving bales around easily. Now we do everything manually for the most part with a help of my tractor. The tractor is a little out of commission. I need to fix a hydraulic leak just need the time. I worked on the tractor earlier already but it took me 4 days to limp it along. Now I need to replace a very challenging bolt which is causing the leak. Nice thing about older tractors you can work on them yourself but it might not be mechanical friendly.
In Scotland in the last 36 hours we have had 3 inches of rain.😊
Field looks great. We in the Northeast are experiencing heavy rain again today. Wish we could send some to you in the Midwest.
Thanks for the video Greg, beautiful scenery with cattle on grass. Question about the fence you have near the road…is that 2 strands of high tensile wire? Or just 2 strands of polybraid?
4 strands
4 strands of Hi tensile
Greg it's best not to mention the name of the road because some of us have a memory like an elephant. Lol
#40 got a bad 👁...opps 😂
whats the latest you have seen fresh grass growing? i'm in canada near montreal, i'm hoping i can graze until mid-november at least, especially with temperatures the way they have been recently. no sign of a frost in the next 2 weeks either.
I’m in Nova Scotia, I’ve been told the grass will continue growing ( albeit slowly) until the first hard frost. Looking like we are gonna get a couple more weeks until a frost as well.
@@nicholasmacinnis1486 nice. less $$ spent on hay this winter. if we keep getting temperatures like this we'll be grazing year-round soon in canada
When I lived in Chertsey, Quebec they said there was something that made it a bit more mild, for the summer. I went swimming outside every day. Wonderful
Looking good 👍🏻 would cattle and sheep drink city water with the chlorine they add? Thanks
City water is limed to prevent corrosion. It comes out of the tap with a pH of 9 plus. Adding a quarter teaspoon of vinegar per gallon adjusts the pH to 7.
The Chlorine will evaporate overnight. So it shouldn't be a problem.
Good information thank you!
@@drewk5929any organic material and it forms Choramine T. Nasty stuff.
