I’m cracking up because when she says she was the one that didn’t desire to be solo... I don’t feel that is true. I’ve listened to Dawn’s interviews and they have been consistent. It felt like between Terry and Sylvia Rhone they were trying to beat Dawn to the punch. When Terry’s album proved to be nothing that’s when Sylvia scrambled and cornered the girls and forced Dawn’s hand. Terry didn’t work so they were not going to let Dawn have a go at it solo. Crazy because Dawn clarifies and said that her solo project would have been after the what was to become of the EV3 project. They knew Dawn was special and after she left they could barely maintain. The four of them together was special and I don’t understand how you share the same management/lawyers as your production company and you never renegotiate your contract ever. There is a huge problem if SWV could make money their first album but EnVogue flounders financially but only looks the part. That is embarrassing. Every time Dawn tells her side of things Terry and Cindy were always opposition and were fine with where they are. There was something about Sylvia and the producers that seemed to be the divide of the group.

All of this is ACCURATE I WAS JUST LISTENING TO HALFTIME SHOW WITH DAWN ROBINSON… dawn needed left eye from Tlc in terry’s room for that impromptu meeting to discuss envogue’s direction on what would’ve been EV 4 & they kick her out just like that next day after Sylvia asked dawn for an immediate answer over the fact that terry album didn’t sell well so now it’s a No for dawn to have an album out ! HAD THEY STICK TOGETHER! Maxine would be kicked out 2 years KARMA… I love your response all true ! Terry doing that dawn is foul and at 60 neither her nor terry should still be TOURING NO ONE HAS HONORED ENVOGUE YET AND ITS 35 years almost as a group

@@derrickhobbs6463 All facts!!!! I went back the other day and listened to the EV3 album. This album was supposed to be them solidifying their spot as legends. They were supposed to only do one song with their original producers, and Organized Noize along with Martin, and Matias were supposed to move them to a new sound. We heard how Don’t let Go and the other songs by these writers and producers really stood out. Terry dating one of the original producers was a block for them. They sabotaged their own careers, and now have to tour for a living. This deeply hurts me because I’m a huge fan of the ladies, even Rhona because I loved the Soul Flower album. In hindsight looking at what was supposed to happen they were supposed to be Giants and untouchable because when Funky Divas dropped they were unstoppable!!! They were supposed to carry that moment to the finish line!!

It’s just crazy sabotaged and ended their careers touring may bring in a lot of money but realistically albums bring in residual income especially if you’re a writer on the album … poor ladies ! I envisioned terry & Cindy probably singing their last song ever on stage being close to the ages of late 50s early 60s?

@@derrickhobbs6463 I just feel they should be celebrated, and it just feels like those decisions after Funky Divas cut off their nose to spite their face. Even coming back together they were on the same thing with the new label. Just not negotiating when fans were hungry for their return. Songs like I’ll cry later, and Expiration could have been huge. It was a repeat cycle and 2 pennies per record. I’m not even sure how this works with streaming platforms!!

I knooooow. But basically Dawn was suppose to do one and they pulled the plug. I don’t think Cindy or Maxine really wanted to do it. But business wise I think they unfortunately saw how Terry’s album didn’t do so well and didn’t wanna take the chance of failure with Dawn. To them they saw Terry as their solo star so when it didn’t do well they probably assumed for sure Dawn’s wouldn’t succeed either. Which pissed her off and basically was the catalyst of her quitting along with managerial/money issues.
