    Man, if that didn't give you goose bumps, then you must be undead. 👹 Before Ozzie, Alice Cooper, or Marilyn Manson, there was Elvis. The original bad boy of Rock and Roll who many wanted cancelled, arrested, or dead. 50 plus years later and there's still no one who can touch his greatness.

      I guess I'm the undead then. Perfect for the channel! 😂😂😂
      I think it deals with my connection to other types of music. I grew up with Pink Floyd, Ozzy, Metallica, and generally harder bands. I will never deny that hearing Elvis through this channel has made me a fan. I just don't have that deep seeded connection to him. He's an absolute legend and fantastic musician/artist.

      @Mike Macabre I grew up in the 80s and saw Judas Priest, Scorpions, Metallica. Armored Saint was my favorite band 🙂. At a young age I was introduced to Elvis's 68 Comeback Special and was always mesmerized. Check out 'Trying To Get To You' from this show. No one cones close to the magmatism this guy possessed, not to mention his voice. The cadence and tricks he could do with his voice are still copied to this day. Would love to see you react to this classic from Elvis.

    That was in Las Vegas at a Dinner Show, thus the subdued Audience.

    If you start watching a lot of Elvis Vegas performances, you will see that they are always quiet and subdued. Elvis performed twice and even three times a day at the International Hotel. My theory is that many of these fans in the crowd watch Elvis perform on somewhat of a consistent basis, so essentially they take his greatness for granted. If you watch Elvis On Tour from 1972 you will notice that fans everywhere except for Vegas act how you would expect people , while watching the greatest singer and entertainer of all-time.

      I've already reacted to If I can dream.
      However the rest I can't add to the queue. I'm about a month behind but when it becomes live it can be added.

    Believe me, the 2 Elvis concerts I attended in 1972 were not subdued in any sense of the word. LOL.
    Women were bouncing in their seats and screaming like crazy. At one concert he threw a scarf into the crowd where we were seated in the 3rd row. There was almost a brawl over that scarf...even my mother got in on the fight for that scarf.
    As to this cover, Paul Simon said in an interview that Elvis' cover was melodramatic but so was the song. Then he said "How do you top that?" If the writer and one of the original singers thinks Elvis' version is that good then I'm listening to him.

      @@MikeMacabre it's one of my most treasured memories. I was 10 the first time and the 2nd concert in Arizona was my 11th birthday present. We moved that summer so I got to see him twice in one year. The first one in Kansas was the first concert I'd ever been to.

    As an Elvis fan of long standing this type of performance it is one of the reasons I have followed him. However what amazes me is that the song is not familiar to you. Granted it is over 50 years old but Simon and Garfunkel's single sold millions and was number 1 everywhere, plus being a Grammy award winner, recorded by over 50 artists, etc. etc. Yes that's why I am surprised.

    • @MikeMacabre
      @MikeMacabre  Před rokem +1

      I do know some Simon and Garfunkel tunes but this one escaped me for whatever reason. Couldn't tell you why.
