  • Even if it looks like a Rubiks Cube it is way different. The Twisted Cube 3x3x3 is an assembly puzzle. Six parts need to be reassembled. Sounds easier as it is. Due to the twisted layers, it's hard to imagine how to bring the pieces back together, after you took them apart.

I appreciate your methodology and approach. Like you said, in the beginning you were just going about it semi randomly but after 20 minutes you were smart enough to recognize that it wasn't really getting you far and if it did it was going to be pure luck and would be difficult to resolve a 2nd time. So you sat back and thought about what clues could help you assuredly know what goes where.

I bet this puzzle would be better quality if it had small magnets that held the pieces together. They only need to be strong enough so it doesnt fall apart immediately when you touch it.

For display I would put a very dark rubber band around the bottom cube, if that would be enough, to keep it in one piece. What also makes it a bit more difficult is that the two dark sides are not lined up to each other. You do have to realize that before starting which would help.

I get your comment about people mocking some puzzle, but you know, brains are and work in a very diverse way for each person. Usually we assume that a dynamo cube is harder than a rubic's cube just because the majority of people find them harder, but there might be some exceptions that finds a dynamo cube lots easyer just because their brain work in a way that facilitates that kind of problem solving. So if someone says that one of those puzzles you solve it's too easy, maybe they wil find extremely difficul something that for you could not be even a puzzle ^_^ I had that with some of my friends :D

Yes, I agree. Therfore, my difficulty rating is my personal rating only considering my own feeling. Anyway, I think the difficulty of a puzzle cannot be evaluated by looking at the solution. In general I recommend trying the puzzles before watching the solution.

It's an easy puzzle but also very complex
Once you get a feel for how it goes together then solving it should be no trouble at all of course I'm Shure that anyone who says what I just said might struggle with it at first
But looking at it if it were a 3 dimensional cube it's just simply building until you get a single uniform shape

3 out of 5 is the same as 6 out of 10. So 6 out of 10 may be too easy a rating, but it is at least in your "3 or 4" range.

I'd just like to point out that, as on the Aztec puzzle, if you simply "assume" some pieces fit together and later conclude they don't, you can have success, not so much because of correct insight, but more so because of limiting your options.
This isn't to criticize the method, but to point out that sometimes it's best to just start somewhere and adjust your views along the way.
