Hello ma'am iam mbbs intern few days ago I injected injection pantoprazole into a patient's cannula,but solution is not going inside the cannula ,then I put a little force on injection for it passage through cannula ,but suddenly injections solution come out of cannula splashing through my eye and face but iam not sure if patient is hiv postive or not ??? Later I washed my eye with saline water.my question for you is that ??? Should I have to get tested for HIV ????? Please reply

Mam , agar hiv patient ko pus formation huwa hoga (abscess) on hip location , toh pus nikalte time jo needle use huwa prick karne ke liye agar us needle se percutaneous injury hogaya apne finger pe toh , kya hiv transmission ya infection possible hai?
1) prick jab kiya toh udar se red and white colour pus nikalta bahar
2) percutaneous injury is not so deep.

Today I got pricked with a lanchet used by a patient who already got tested for hiv (and came back negative), there was no visible cut or bleeding but i have a prick sensation and pain in the area, should I be worried?

Hello can you answer my question, I got poked by a bur during a procedure (Apico surgery) But the bur was clean. But it poked a hole in my glove and gave me a small little cut the size of a bur. and I didn’t change my gloves and the patients blood might have got into the glove hole, I’m really scared idk what to do? But I really don’t know if the blood touched the cut, bc I didn’t realize until the end that I had a cut. The patient is hiv positive as well.

Hi mam 6 years back patient husband is dead at the time he has HIV positive after that her wife tested two times she gets negetive and 15/04/2022. Also she tested she get negetive at that time she have tifid fever in hospital taking treatment then I going to visit to home and giving flued t the time by mistake niddel is stuck but one thing is that needle is not given to patient. If you are sure there was not even a minor cut or break in your skin im any way...you should not worry..

Yesterday I was trying to flush canula(dried up) with DNS of an ART patients but I got splash in my eyes ( as aerosol or droplet) from the syringe filled with dns and canula, washed my eyes immediately with clean water and started tenofovir + lamivudine + nevirapine within 2 hours, how much it will be effective and do I need to continue pep? Please tell me.

Not a problem..it should be generally taken at the same time..but it's k..u can take the dose..just don't skip it..n try not repeat the same later..

I had sex one day before means yesterday and it was anal sex done using condom, but the condom failed unknowningly and i got scared about that, acutally the i am not sure about partner HIV status ( whether she had or not ), acutally they are not homely people they are like business (brrothal) people and i got scared for that and i went to consult a specialist and they said no need to worry about this, and i asked to start PEP then they said okay it is better to start PEP very soon its already 13 hours after sex and it is good to go with this, then i said ok and they given me only one type of medicine and that too for 30 days ? is it enough for me to get rid of expousre if my partner has any kind of HIV VIRUS ? please give me reply mam. thank you
Hello. Thank you for this video! Very nicely explained. I am a RN and I just got a needle sick with an HIV pt yesterday. At the time of exposure, I did not know that he was HIV positive so I did not clean my hand thoroughly. Then I did after 15min later. I started Truvada and Isentress yesterday. I am scared of contracting it and scared of the side effects. Is there anything I can do to lease the side effects and to make sure that I don’t contract it? Thank you so much!
That's fine .not a problem..u started PEP right within 24 hours..just take the medications on time every day...don't skip any dose..n if you feel any side effects of dizziness or fever..then you need to visit a physician for routine check up and cbc to watch out for neutropenia..

hi, a needle accidentally pricked me on my finger just now while i was fixing a shirt. it bled but i stopped it by washing and applying pressure on it. i have a hiv+ cousin and we live in the same house plus i think he's on meds for a year now i guess. the needle that i used was used by my grandma and aunt a lot of times before me and i think my cousin hasn't used it for days i think but not sure. and i only got pricked after fixing the shirt so it went through different fabrics already. and there were no traces of blood on it from what i saw. am i safe from the possible transmission??? i dont want to be paranoid but im scared. im only 19.
You need to start with PEP within 24 hours..as there was bleeding..if you feel that the needle has been accidentally used by him as well anytime and if he has been pricked..wen in doubt PEP is alwaz a good option..I m assuming it's a sewing needle..

@@hyukjaelee3305 usually it's fine as the virus doesn't stay on surfaces for so many days...so the possibility in your case is low..but there are studies which say that there may be a possibility of survival if the temperatures are quite low..
@@fortheloveofteaching-drshi5011 i asked him and he hasn't used it for a month now. we live in the Philippines and the temperature here is quite high. plus it's summer so it's hot. actually i don't wanna tell my grandma and aunt about my worry or fear because they think im too paranoid (i had a history of health anxiety tbh) and i think my cousin isn't aware that i know what he's going through. i just need a peace of mind without taking pep if possible huhu i heard that if they're taking meds, the viral load is decreased so the transmission is lower? im sorry for asking so much but with this scenario, is my risk low to none?

Yes..it needs to be taken with the meal.and with lots and lots of water..moreover it needs to be taken at the same time of the day daily..if the dose is skipped try to take it as soon as poosible..dont double the next dose..seccondly, plain paracetamol can be taken for fever and all but ur doctor who prescribed PEP needs to be informed as it may be due to a low W.B.C count or due to the side effect of the antiviral medications or due to seroconversion...

It depends on how old the cotton is..and if there is dried blood on the cotton..and it's not freshly used on some patient .the chances of transmitting is nil as HIV virus doesn't stay outside the body for long..

Mam patient status is unknown she is a accidental women with minor trauma and I gave her tt shot mam there is rush in minor OT sudden I feel scratch like sound but it wasn't hurting I'm not feeling any type of pain or gloves ke upar se dekha toh tear nhi tha but when I wash my hand and apply spirit it pinching like feeling on back thumb now mam I don't know ki wha phle se skin break thi ya..... But also scab formed but very tiny like needle point mam so worried
So wenever u r in doubt we should always start PEP..u can always discontinue later..how many days back did this happen? And you can request the patient to get tested..mostly it will not be a problem but just for precautions and be assured u can can do that..

Yes bilkul ho sakte hain..ekdum ho sakte hain....don't worry that much..coz it was a light scratch..chances are very low..n its a take away for the future..only thing u can do is get a cbc done after every 1 month and then after 3 months..and HIV test done too for an year..coz sometimes the infection may be latent..to be assured.

Agar apke gloves porous h to chances h ho sakta h...try to use surgical gloves instead of diagnostic gloves..n doosra scratch se ho sakta h..but chances bohot kam hote hain and depend karta h apke scratch ki intensity par..n agar ake scratch p khurant ya scab banta h matlab bleeding huyi h tab chances hote hain kunki blood se contact hua h but chances kam hote hain..still hum PEP advise karte hain..

Mam does hiv need certain amount to transfer from infected person to normal person
Yes it depends on the viral load of the infected person..as per the studies and literature available..when the HIV viral load is undetectable..even though the patient is HIV positive..chances of transmitting the infection is nil to negligible..

It's k..u can get urself tested at one of ictc centres and if u don't have any symptoms..then it's fine..be careful from the next time..
