I usually grow our tomatoes in the media beds. This year I'm trying out deep water culture!

If I had a gajillion dollars I'd fully fund your farm. You do so much good and output so much content. I'm so happy every time you release a new video. Can't wait to see the tomatotonnage you produce this season.

There are many components to studying aquaponics. One plan I found which successfully combines these is the Keiths Ponics Site (check it out on google) definately the most incredible info that I have ever heard of. Check out this interesting site.

Ben had some cherry tom's in grow grips at his old aquaponic cafe & they did fine. They weren't tied up though, just cascaded over the raft & side of the bed from memory.
Looking forward to see how they turn out Rob. 👍

Thanks Rob for sharing, hope your greenhouse expansion plans from last year are going well. When the video first started with the tomatoes in the net cups I immediately thought about the grow-grips, you had me wondering. Thanks again for everything over the years!!!

Nice. I use bailing twine for my grapes. What i find is if you want to tie little things with it it is easier to cut the thing to length and then separate the twine into its threads. You get a finer thread to work with and its easier to cut it down when you take it down next year.

This video was awesome!!!!!!! One thing, it helps if you play some dramatic music or a scream whenever you pull one of the suckers off on camera.

How deep does the dwc bed need to be to provide enough room for heavy rooted plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers etc

Good job. Speaking about not getting videos out right away...I have a "Making Black and Red Currant jam" video I've been working on for 2 years. How about that? Procrastination at its worse.

How thick are your rafts? I can only get 1 inch thick foam sheets here. Is that thick enough?

  • @danielroden9424

they make plastic clips that clamp down on the twine and clasp the plant. 1000x times easier and more reusable than twine.

    • @Bigelowbrook
      @Bigelowbrook  Před 4 lety

I use them in the other greenhouse. With the twine, I can just toss everything in the compost when I'm done growing...instead of spending the time to remove all the old clips. Either way, it's probably the same amount of labor.

Do you supplement the system with any minerals? Some people say they can only grow leafy greens in aquaponics but you've just proven that to be inaccurate. How do you get the tomatoes to grow so well? Nice job btw keep up the good work!

Hi, just wondering where you get your grow clips from?

  • @pinelsf.comprofessionsherp5022

Hi, it's my second year trying to grow aquaponic tomato plants and they turn out yellow and produce very few tomatoes. Any advice ? Thanks !

Puta merda. Tinha de vir do exterior, respostas as minhas perguntas. Já dei o "Gostei" e me inscrevi no seu canal. Parabéns. \Google Tradutor ou|or Google Translation/Holy shit. It had to come from abroad, answers my questions. I already liked it and subscribed to your channel. Congratulations.
