Very few people actually can commit to such schedules without consequences, and then very very few of those are actually good enough to actually succeed in it.
I was in a hardcore raiding guild in SWTOR when it first launched. I barely got 2 hours of sleep a night, we were busting through the content. It was stressful and it was hard. I decided I couldn't do it anymore. I logged out one night before a raid and never logged back in. Props to the people who can handle the hardcore.
back when I used to play in vanilla, I played in a hardcore AQ40/naxx guild. the raiding schedules were atrocious back then, we raided 6 days a week (mon-sat), 10+ hours per day just raiding, and in the time that was left over, it was used to farm consumables for raiding. sometimes we raided for over 20 hours on progress bosses in naxx, which was really exhausting and not to mention unhealthy, but yeah, at the time it was what I wanted to do, and I don't regret it, but I'd never do it again.
Keep in mind, that 2 weeks behind in time also are 2 weeks ahead of gear. Two weaks behind is without a doubt very good, but I would bet the top ten could be as time efficient as you with the same gear.
Raiding is silly easy, it is simply lack of experience for most players. And i don't mean a step by step guide to be memorized; no, that is not experience. I am talking about long time, gaming experience in general, and mmo experience. Being an exceptional raider is being able to view the encounter as a whole, to be aware of everything around your character, and to learn what I like to call a 1 minute time-zone. Always prepare for what is to come in a 1 min time span.
The amount of time that is put into a truly "Hardcore" raiding guild (for World of Warcraft at least) is insane when compared to the time a "Casual" player will spend. However, I think to truly appreciate the dedication to "hardcore raiding" you'd have to go back to pre-Wrath.* *I am NOT saying that people still don't dedicate a large portion of their time to raiding, it's just, in my opinion, the raiding content post-BC is on a different level.
I dont see Kripp going back either. But I have to ask because it makes no sense to me. What do you think Kripp "Stands" for? I'm seriously curious as to what and why you think he "stands" for something because I havent seem him "stand" for anything other than being someone who is enjoying what he does.
yea i go back and forth, sometimes i love playing all day every day and hate the outside world and my irl friends, and feel so bored with what they have to offer. then there are times where i just dont wanna play video games at all cuz i feel in the big picture im doing nothing productive in my free time where im working, going to school, or doing hw or projects. its really about prefrence. but either way im more happier playing video games that doing the socially acceptable things to do.
Well if a boss comes up were 1 class is amazing then thay need alot of that class for the fight and thay need to be geared - when Dragon soul came guilds like blood legion had farmed like 30 legendary staffs in firelands so thay could stack classes with that staff.
when i was really addicted to wow i used to play, mind u casually, on my days off from school like 6-18 hours a day, from when i woke up to sleep time, just wow all day long, i had alot of fun. i cant do that now, no motivation, i play very casually now, so 1-3 hours a night, and recently like 2 nights maybe 3 a week. things are to repetitive for me to really enjoy playing all night every night. mostly cuz i dread dailies and rep grinds... and thats all this expantion is.
I totally agree! I've been living out of the digital world for a bit now and i have to say real life is pretty awesome. Except life's monthly fees are much more expensive.
Kerafyrm wasnt a raidboss. You weren't supposed to kill it. Only heard of one guild clearing it ever and they got banned for bugging it out on a bridge or something
i think blizzard could make hardcore raiding alot more hardcore with putting a timer for instance clear then it wouldnt be about who got worlds first but who used there time most effective
Kripp is always ahead of the curve, anticipating the next best thing way ahead of everyone else. He's always min-maxing, this is why he is using chinese eyes. Kripp is in the know.
Most players in hardcore schedules use their vacation time for progression. Keep in mind, that once they down the content, their schedules scale back immensely and raid less than most people when they are on farm. And with sponsorships and streaming, youtube videos now, the players in top guilds can actually make a living off of doing this. Besides, nobody is worthy of judging anybody. In an online game, people take stabs at each other for everything. And people who judge are compensating.
on TorilMUD zones (raids they are called now) reset only when the server was rebooted. on a reboot there was a chance for a rare-load event called jot invasion to load. one day we spent 27 hours straight doing jot invasion. this was 1996. oh, we risked losing our corpses and our gear and lost levels in doing this. WoW != hardcore
I couldn't remember, but for some reason today, it came to me. He replied to "Porno make a kripp" with "omg lol you made my day." Or something like that. =P
Kripp, without fail, you are the most dishevelled gamer on the web. Honestly it's at the point where I feel uncomfortable watching these vids. lol. no doubt hc gamer.
I know you weren't, I was referring to the overall general hate that hardcores get nowadays. A player in a top guild may be the nicest, most helpful person in the world, and he'll get trashed just because he's considered "hardcore".
Anything in WoW is like that PvP and PvE are both easy as hell if you spend a lot of time doing either. I'd say getting 2200+ in arena is way easier than Realm/World first though, because you have a whole season to get 2200+, but you only have a week or so to get Realm/World first.
Not only. I'm not saying entertainment is bad. I, too, play this game. I love it. But i also spend my time on sports, work, family, eating (on time, not once a day) healthy food etc etc. You know how it is, too much of anything can be bad. I think playing 10 hours a day is too much.
Was not judging anyone. Just saying that a lot of people who might have been good enough to compete or at least be decent will never get the chance due to the schedule requirements. If you are top, you need to gear alts etc and get everything possible. If you aren't top, you nee much more time if you want any progression. This makes the game completely not enjoyable for anyone who is good and wants to play well, but cannot commit to such extremes.
haha I had few days when I played for 12 hours or so in the early WoW. But in the end I felt like I threw away entire day for nothing. I am totally not blaming anyone who enjoys that though, just not my thing.
I miss the WoW videos....
You could blind fold this guy with dental floss.
im playing wow classic and its awesome to see the perspective from back then. cheers kripp
Very few people actually can commit to such schedules without consequences, and then very very few of those are actually good enough to actually succeed in it.
I love how happy Kripp looks at the end of each vid
since im assuming your new here: welcome to youtube
It's crazy how powerful of a gamer Kripp is, but he doesn't throw it around really.
Hey Kripp, can we expect a DK/hunter guide anytime soon? would love one!
Love this video, its so true across diferent games.Hardcore gamers really need some more attention imo.
KRIPP! Come back for Legion!
No.
Kripps mustache has more raiding experience than most players

This guys pretty much said it all, i've been there and looking back at it now. It freaks me the fuck out. lol

Kripp, your life is fascinating to me.

Your decline in health isn't worth it, that's for sure.
"nods head in approval as he states who is he."
You get a kickback from streaming and ad revenues. How do your guild mates support themselves if they're raiding 10 hours a day?
you were talking about ambershaper weren't you
that mustache looks like he pulled out his eye brows and glued them above his lips
kripp looks like a conquestador here sporting the stache..
so Midwinter is now called Madwinter?
Scheduled maintenance must be a pain for hardcore raiders.

hmm, so what is your understanding of useful?

What's the point of raiding alts?
Kerafyrm wasnt a raidboss. You weren't supposed to kill it. Only heard of one guild clearing it ever and they got banned for bugging it out on a bridge or something
Bro, Chemo Krip needs to be coming soon.
@FMAlch3mist Movember? Damn I like that month :3
It's the nolife stache, it's basically a badge of honor
i think blizzard could make hardcore raiding alot more hardcore with putting a timer for instance clear then it wouldnt be about who got worlds first but who used there time most effective
Shouldnt the troll be changed into a panda now?
Kripp what kinda job do you have ? :D
Kripp is always ahead of the curve, anticipating the next best thing way ahead of everyone else. He's always min-maxing, this is why he is using chinese eyes. Kripp is in the know.
That's freaking insane guilds lol I can never raid for that long or do it all over again with alts.
Brazzers, Kripp. Brazzers.

I love sleep too much to do these things. Also, food, I like to eat slowly and enjoy my food.

WoW != hardcore

That "face of Anonymus" is a mask of Guy Fawkes....
Don't know if baked as fuck or chronic sleep deprivation. Definitely didn't notice this shit back in the day lol
Also mandatory rip hardcore kripp 😢
I would like to see Kripp in Vodka, he is too good to not play at top level!
Believe me, if I could put my life on hold for a year, going super hardcore is exactly what i'd do... Its the dream!

I couldn't remember, but for some reason today, it came to me. He replied to "Porno make a kripp" with "omg lol you made my day." Or something like that. =P
Do you know what Movember is? Look it up. Canadian's are more familiar with it.
you must stash your moustache in the must-stash
1. What does "olts" mean? "Bring in another set of olts." "SIX raiding olts" etc? Sorry, I've never played wow. Still need to watch them Kripp vids!
It's Movember!
yes he does have a degree, a degree in providing commentary, knowledge, and entertainment to like minded fans.
Kripp, without fail, you are the most dishevelled gamer on the web. Honestly it's at the point where I feel uncomfortable watching these vids. lol. no doubt hc gamer.
You're on to something, when it comes to eating slowly. Check out "slow food" on wikipedia.
That's weird. Even Nihilum raided 6 hrs/day max back then.
pass the dutchie, mon~
Doing Movember proud!

don't watch kripp video for 3 months come back to see he still looks crazy as fak lol
Oh and there's also PTR testing.
they raid about 14-18hrs a day
Not only. I'm not saying entertainment is bad. I, too, play this game. I love it. But i also spend my time on sports, work, family, eating (on time, not once a day) healthy food etc etc. You know how it is, too much of anything can be bad. I think playing 10 hours a day is too much.
Comments on Kripp's videos have been getting progressively creepier.
I bet you are very useful to society.
10 hours of world of warcraft? Sounds like an average day to me.
ahh, ok :) Thank you!
He does.
but the drops are BOP so I don't know why you'd do that?
I thought you got yourself a job, how are you still able to raid that much? Do you not sleep at all?
Hey Kripp, please pay attention not to die while playing too much without resting properly !
RiP wow Kripp, you were a god 🙄
if you can sleep 5-6 hours a day you can hardcore raid+work. I know a guy in our office who does just that XD
Can't even concentrate on the video because of this moustache :D
Alright. Thank you :)
Hey guys, Krippasian here
Anyone here did BC content like Sunwell and BT hardcore? THAT shit was intense lol.. x.x
still talkin' about that Ulduar world first huh...

true, but people are going to do what people are going to do, whatever keeps you happy. :)
No shave November.
you did the right thing
haha I had few days when I played for 12 hours or so in the early WoW. But in the end I felt like I threw away entire day for nothing. I am totally not blaming anyone who enjoys that though, just not my thing.
