@@the120ist I have the original matte screen on mine. Luckily no focussing problems. I thought about a new screen (split or Kiev etc) but why rock the boat, eh? It seems such a delicate balance that I'm happy to live with mine. I worry that the mere changing out of screens with pull at the foam and result in a need for replacement etc. I seem to nail focus most of the time, even close at F2.8. Keep up the good work, sir!
I'm getting into them a bit more you know. I've always leaned towards bigger more technical cameras, but the results from that Nettar were pretty good actually, and I've got a Balda Baldix sitting here on the desk next to me which is also supposed to be pretty good. Will be getting out and shooting with that soon!
Was in Cape Town and saffa last year, what a beautiful place and people. Had a simple little Pentax ME as the companion, Eager to get back with different gear 📷
Thank god I got that close, otherwise I would have come back with nothing!! I did tell my driver that basically we don't stop unless the animals are literally on the road. Lots of other people were stopped watching animals maybe 20m back from the road, and we took a look, but we didn't hang around. Still got pretty lucky!
wow, what a nice trip especially for the little time you had to go out shooting. did anyone comment on the posh snake skin finish of the bronica? thanks for sharing allways a pleasure to see your videos.
Thanks man! I was pretty happy with what I saw when I developed that roll! They looked good in the viewfinder, and I was lucky with the light in those shots, good angle and it was a little diffused with some thin cloud, but you never quite know until you have the negatives in your hand right? Loving the S2A at the moment though, I feel like that camera is purring like a kitten right now!
Mate I loved the video, and the animal photos were just happy shots. I am rather surprised at how well your Zeiss Netter handled the colour Ektar film. Cheers.
Thank you! I was pretty surprised about the Nettar as well. I only took maybe 6 or 7 frames with it, and they were all pretty good. I’ll be taking that one out for a proper run, when I’m focusing all my attention on it. Could be an absolute steal for people getting into MF, you can pick them up for pennies!
I could probably have got away with it, but the main problem was that I didn’t know what film was in there. Or how long it had been in there. It could have been anything! I have no memory of putting it in! So the best thing to do was pull it all out, bin that film and start afresh. Irritating, but maybe I’ll learn my lesson and be more diligent about putting some tape on the back of a camera when I put a roll in!
@@the120ist fair enough! I used to stick a small strip of masking tape on to the bottom plate and write a wee note with permanent marker. Too many cameras to use at once :)
Frustratingly I already own a 135, a 150 and a 200… I just didn’t take them with me because I didn’t think I’d be shooting wildlife! I was expecting mostly landscapes and some street stuff. Ah well… there’s always next time… maybe!
This was fun. Thank you. Now I'm getting out my Bronica S2A, you've inspired me.
Did you put your S2A away??!!?? Shame on you!

Awesome video dude! I really liked those black and white photos of the elephants!

Note to self, get a prism finder for my S2a before I go on safari.
🤣🤣 what, and deny you the pleasure of watching me trying to contort my increasing bulk out of the car window to use the WLF??
Just one or two frames wasted when you opened nettar, right? Backing paper protects those already taken

So do you have the 105mm or 150mm lens now on the shopping list? :D
