    Hi Ashley, can you also use powerwax on acrylic paints or mix them together?? ❤

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes absolutely 👍 the binder in the acrylic paint will be enough with the Powerwax providing you don’t use too much wax 😝🌸

    And the binder is ???

    If you have an acrylic based painting should you varnish the bits that won’t have the wax on before adding the wax? Thanks.

      Hey sorry I missed your question… you would need to use a water based varnish if you did as the wax is water based… 😝

    Question…. Can I use the powertex fabric hardener on tissue paper and use it alone without any other additive… ie… powerwax acrylic paint etc.?

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  Před rokem

      I have used it on tissue paper stretched over a cane form… I sprayed the tissue paper with water first & allowed it to dry so it was as tight as a drum… them I carefully painted it with powertex… it made the form a lot more durable… no you don’t have to add any other medium… on its own is fine… an artist friend has also used transparent on paper lanterns to harden for a festival… she ended up recycling them for about 4 events over two years… they survived rain & wind in that period 😝I hope that’s helpful 🤩🌸

      @@powertexaustralia9230 this is sooo helpful! That was my plan to do the same thing a lantern for a local art exhibit. If you have any other suggestions or references or even ideas for making a lantern…please feel free to share…. I would be so grateful! Thanks!!!!!

    Can I use an acrylic matte medium as a binder? If so what would be the ratio? I tried the powerwax by itself and I can still scratch off the product days later. Thanks!!!

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  Před rokem

      Yes that should be fine… acrylic paints will also bind the wax I believe… I haven’t tried it because I LOVE the effect I get using the Powertex universal medium with the wax (especially the ivory) 😝after the wax has dried for at least a week you can use a soft cloth to polish it which will seal it…

      @@powertexaustralia9230 can I use the powertex universal medium transparent hardener as a binder with the powerwax on my acrylic painting?
      I want as much transparency as I can without adding a pigment of the sort.
      Could I also get the same effect with the white as I am not able to find the ivory on Amazon here in the USA

      Which product do you recommend as a binder that is clear for transparency

    • @powertexaustralia9230
      @powertexaustralia9230  Před rokem

      @@laytonchavis1220 I would experiment with a few different mediums until you find one that works for you and gives you the look you're after in your artwork... You can try anything you already have on hand such as Acrylic Gloss Medium, Clear acrylic gel medium, transparent Powertex, Easycoat Glossy/matt or Easy Varnish (from Powertex)... do a few small samples and play until you find a process that works... experimenting & playing with the Powerwax is the way to go... then apply your discoveries to your larger works 😜 I hope that helps 😉☺
