Actually that's not true.The majority of the stuff that comes in is from visitors but yes there are a couple of dirty guards. They actually showed video of drones at windows and people reaching out grabbing stuff at another facility.

@GemVitale - I was at the Anamosa (Iowa) State Penitentiary when they discovered tons of contraband in the inmate cells. It took an 11-month investigation to catch four prison guards smuggling in drugs, weapons, cell phones, liquor, and a lot more.

This is not news. It's also pretty clear that the jail is not being maintained and they don't seem to have anyone on the roof, with a net gun. Bird netting is also very cheap. Maybe someone can share some of that kickback cash from the various music videos shot there.
This haul probably includes items stashed and unrecovered because the guy who stashed it is already out. Getting a date for the confiscated items might be interesting. But it would also show the incompetence like tree rings.

I started doing drugs 20 years ago as a teenage, got addicted to heroin. Spent my whole life fighting heroin addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

I work at Angola State Prison in Louisiana. That is way too much contraband. I can see a couple shanks,drugs,and phones. But this shows incompetent staff. Lazy staff will cost someone their life one day.

Worked as a CO for 4 years and we kept shakedowns everyday. Never did I encounter such an amount coming close to this. This is just pure negligence and laziness of not wanting to do the job.

I was also a guard. Once we had to do a whole pod, ceilings, heat vents, bathroom furniture, everything had to be dismantled and searched.

Not really when you think about it because inside any internet kiosk that you find in a public space there is usually just a regular off-the-shelf computer so once you have access to those normally concealed USB ports and the power strip that a lot of those things contain you have an easy spot to charge your devices. What's crazier to believe is that inmates were busting that open and opening it up and using it and none of the guards noticed anything suspicious
