I bought this one on ear headphone once, I think it was called "Monster Beats." it said in the paperwork for the headphone "some people are not hearing all the music." That was definitely true when I put those things on, it was a big muddy murky mess, I wasn't hearing all the music.
The Samsung case has at least a bit of purpose:
- it kinda protect the corner (rather poorly tho)
-it still let you feel the back glass - to appeal to those "who don't want to cover the premium finish with cheap plastic/rubber" (which would make me wonder why you wanted a case)
-it help you locate the poorly located fingerprint scanner (which a skin will do for similar/cheaper price without generating an eyesore)
poor design? absolutely.
pointless? not really.
