For me, the best thing about ultimate was that it allowed me to root for Lima (Bayonetta players too) without feeling guilty cuz Bayonetta ain't broken in this game. I always enjoyed watching Smash 4 Bayo but I understand that she was broken. Now, I can watch Lima and Bloom and all the rest and enjoy the gameplay and character while knowing that she isn't Smash 4 level. If Steve returns for the next ultimate, I genuinely hope he's nerfed and I also hope that Onin continues to use the character even so. Because if Onin is still good with a nerfed Steve, then it will be just like Lima's arc here with a nerfed Bayonetta since Smash 4.

Just the difference between when Lima and onin get kills. Lima has to do some insanely executed combo with at least a hard read, makes it looks super epic, then onin just sort of swings over and over and hopes it kills his opponent (and because it's Steve it actually does a lot)
Steve is just an easier character while bayo is hard. You could say the same thing while putting a baby mode character vs another hard character that doesn’t mean shit besides steve is easy and bayo is hard
even aside from more representation in high-level smash (big fan of that btw, woo magi), samus stocks are definitely on the rise recently, i’d love to see more of that potential explored with icymist

It was a long and arduous journey for Steve. Alas, at the very end his shoulders gave out, and he could carry Onin no more.
