Omg the one about not feeling butterflies and them being the one reminds me of that quote the grandma said, "Never fall for the ones that give you butterflies, bc they are a sign of fear and un certainty. I have tourettes, I constantly apologise to people for my tics because they are generally just distracting noises and movements. My two friends have snapped and yelled at me multiple times for it so I suppress them around them now, I obvs apologise when a tic slips past. I've been hit by one of these two people for it multiple times and this one of the two constantly makes fun of me for it even after being asked to stop.
My boyfriend is the first and only person in my life that for some reason told me off for apologising for the tics, I had previously always suppressed them around him until one bad day happened and I told him I have tourettes, I expected a break up or for him to ask me to suppress them around him cause they're annoying. But he didn't
He keeps calling them cute and he recently learnt that his favourite of my tics can be triggered, when people find this out they normally abuse it and set me off all the time, but this man literally ASKS if he can 'make me do the thing' as he calls it. It's not a harmful tic so I do say yes everytime, if you know sweet anita and the popping tic she has, its that one.
Edit as of 20/07/2022 : I'm going to college, those friends are out of my life I did the slow cut off, trying to slowly stop talking to them. They didn't even notice nor question it when I stopped speaking to them.
Hopefully I might make a friend in the course I take that isn't mad about the tourettes, however its unlikely cause I can barely handle leaving my home anymore.
HOWEVER I HAVE A TIC UPDATE THAT IS BOTH ANNOYING AND KINDA CUTE IMO
I watched too many parrot videos and now I have the kissy tic which is adorable when you're with your partner, however it is not so cutesy when you're walking to Tesco's and start blowing kisses to people.

I felt this on a spiritual level…..no pun intended. My childhood was filled of people (kids and adults) making fun of me because of my faith and beliefs. As I got older it turned from out-right bullying into silently judging me, or disrespecting my beliefs by trying to pressure me into doing things that they KNOW is against my faith. I don’t judge other’s religion, I don’t stand outside holding up pickets signs or looking people in their face and telling them they’ll go to hell. I share my faith with people, especially when I see someone going through a hard time, but if they tell me they’re not interest I let it go. I treat everyone with respect. But the second I refuse to do or engage in something against my beliefs all of a sudden I’m “weird” or “so and so has the same religion and they do this so what’s the big deal if you do it too?” Or “Wow, you can’t do a lot. Life must be pretty boring for you.”
Some of these I’ve even heard from past bosses and managers…..after I’ve filled out a job application that tells me I won’t be discriminated or judged for my religion. I’m still trying to get out of the habit of saying “sorry” for not doing something against my religion.

My dad was yelling at me earlier this week because he thinks that I wake up and just lay in my bed until someone yells at me to get up. I realized that hearing his footsteps going up the stairs and hearing the doorknob be turned wakes me up when multiple alarms going off at the same time doesn't even wake me up. Like, a tree fell on my house, my siblings or uncle wakes me up, and I can sleep soundly until they get to the door, but their footsteps don't wake me as fast as my dad's, I've literally just hopped out of my bed and stood in the middle of the room when he walked in because he gets mad if I'm even sitting down. Anyway, that kinda sucks.
I am slightly concerned that I could relate to so many of these.
Oh and the one where it says if you want to be in control all time and also let other people be in control all the time then you have both mommy and daddy issues, so there's something new :/
Also one person commented on here that they keep a notebook and laptop open just in case their parents walk in, and I do that same thing. It absolutely sucks that so many of us have had to adapt like this to survive in our own households.
Also, here's another one. Every time I'm around anyone and I'm talking for longer than a couple minutes to say something, I start thinking, wow, I'm probably being really annoying and they don't want me around, so then I apologize for being annoying which makes me feel more annoying. I think I know why this exists, but it still sucks. Anyway.

the memorising footsteps one is so accurate 😭
basically at night when I’m supposed to be sleeping I’ll close my door and sit on my laptop at the lowest brightness and when it’s 10pm my parents will come up and I can always tell that the heavier footsteps are my dads, and then he goes downstairs. However, it’s not as easy with my mum because the only give away she’s coming up the stairs is the final creaky stair because she’s so light footed so when my dad goes down I’ll wait about 2 minutes before my mum comes up, or I’ll just play until I hear the creaky floorboard lol

6:20 this is exactly how I feel. That's why I feel so guilty for going to therapy, for coming out, for even thinking about feelings. And 5:18 I've always been told I'm annoying I've seen the stereotypes on the internet that tell me I'm terrible. I've never had true friends and so I've never really had anyone to tell me I'm a good person so I've always thought of myself and not worthy of love of friendship and that no one likes me and that I'm a terrible person who acts like the center of attention and is self-centered, annoying, and stupid but tricks people into thinking I'm smart. Every good thing someone thinks about me isn't true I've just manipulated them into thinking that because I crave attention and think that no one is better then me.
    That I'm a burden.

My parents are fine but I've always just memorized their footsteps cause its easy. My older brother is usually mumbling something and stomps, my oldest brother makes noises and has big feet, my dad is heavier and has bigger feet, and my mom is just different from the boys.

  • @getitwonyoungbestgirlperio5388

2:15 oh boy, I always do this, actually I always hide EVERY SINGLE THING I do from my parents, not cuz I am doing bad stuff, but cuz they would literally yell at me nonstop for just sitting in the sofa less than 5 minutes when they are home, calling me lazy and useless till I go to sleep and even when I'm in bed trying to sleep they scream things to me. I can't even stay still in a place of this house without my mom coming for me and beat me or yell at me, and i'm honestly so sick of everything. If I don't hide something I bought they say i'm being so "egoistic" spending my own money that I work for in a simple bag of chips instead of bringing something to the table for all of us to eat, they do this to me since I'm 14, now I can't relax without feeling guilty and hearing my mom's voice shooting hurtful words
