NG3 Razor's Edge Ultimate Ninja Speedrun (Karma, WR)

- My second attempt at speedrunning Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge (2013) on Ultimate Ninja difficulty, with a 50 minute improvement over the first one.
Plenty of deaths and mistakes, but still a very, very good run. The Goddess behaved beautifully at the end, which was a big plus.
Done on an Xbox 360.

Mi segundo intento de hacer un speedrun de Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge (2013) en Ultimate Ninja, con una mejora de 50 minutos con respecto al primero.
Muchos errores y muertes, pero aún así un muy, muy buen run. La Diosa se portó de maravilla al final, lo cual fue un gran punto a favor.

Ah, the Ultimate Ninja difficulty, the top of the top for those who wants to get the platinum. I love challenges but that one was ridiculously hard, even the evil ryu and goddess boss fight.
For me NG2 was harder, but this one is indeed very hard! Thanks for watching :)
I don't like this difficulty either. But all 1 vs 1 bosses are totally fair (including the evil ryu)

Great run! I really hate the last boss second phase. The first phase is easy just takes a while to fill the True Inferno. Her blade always gets me unexpectedly even when I know it's coming lol. This difficulty is nasty xD
Thanks! Yes, canna can be very obnoxious lol. If she starts spamming her energy balls (really spamming, not just the constant pouring), your health's gonna go in a flash. And word! the blade is terrifying. I was really lucky, since she never did more than a couple slices on a row; there're times she does 10. Thanks for watching and having subscribed! :)

Thank you! I don't think my skills on the run were ultimate by any means, I made plenty of mistakes and died a lot, but I appreciate the compliment a lot :). There were players back in the day who could put this run to shame, and if it wasn't for the removal of the karma glitch, I bet there would be new players who could do that too. Thanks for watching!

I really love this game.. Though i dont like ultimate ninja difficulty. Because it feels like a chore than having fun.. Nice run btw.. Death at firts boss was unexpected lol

It feels like climbing the everest with teeth and nails while playing that difficulty. But those who already accomplished that difficulty are legends.

@@TheREALHugo4 bro , I already platinumed sigma and sigma 2 , and finished un difficulty for RE recently , what I mean is , you don't have to be a legend to do that , everyone can do it if you desire so
This game without Razor’s Edge is a real stinker but the concepts and names they had for things are some of the coolest around.

I always have those issues with the spinning attacks either with the sword or the Scythe I prefer the x x x x and Y always do more damage in my opinion.
I am actually playing through this right now and enjoying it except for the bosses being nightmares
They're not so bad :). You just have to learn their openings.
@@Grayson1048 yeah I am trying I ended up cheesing ayanes but dash heavy then lvl1 charge and just did that over and over. Besides that I died like 14 times. That and the Dino were giving me ulcers

What's the input for the scythe circle you keep doing? Is it just like dash triangle?
You spin the left joystick once and then hit Y or triangle. The dashes are not mandatory. Thanks for watching :)

Hola! Muchas gracias. La respuesta a tu pregunta es doble:
Por un lado, uso las armas a su máximo nivel desde el inicio porque hago el glitch de karma infinito. Lamentablemente, quitaron el glitch para la versión de la Master Collection, sólo lo puedes usar en X360, PS3 o WiiU.
Por el otro, una vez que pasas el juego por primera vez, de la segunda en adelante puedes elegir comenzar la historia con "default settings", que te da todas las armas y ninpo en su nivel más bajo. Lo de que las armas estén restringidas hasta más adelante en el juego sólo ocurre la primera vez que lo pasas.

Word. I'm a big fan of it. Both it and the original NG3. But people hate on them both. Let's hope the Master Collection brings a little love to it.

@@thirdeyedesigns9284 What makes you think the game is underrated? The dialogue is janky and out of character for Ryu as a character. The combat is limited in the base game by pay wall, you couldnt even by a used copy of the original games because you couldn't play Multiplayer. The lack of ability to use items to restore HP and Ninpo force you to change the way the game is played, limiting players options of playing aggressively, trading currency for items/upgrades. You repeat bosses more than in NG Black. There are significantly less enemies to fight in NG3, the break up of Combat with these close up cinematic shots and quick time events break up the flow of combat. Interviews on the development of the game really show the flaws of NG3's concept coming to life.
EDIT: Removal of essence, that was also fucking dumb.

@@BigPapaAnimal eh too each their own I suppose. I recently played through it after avoiding it for so many years because of the bad word of mouth and had a great time. The removal of health items was a pain in the ass and made ninpo use more of a way to get health back than an attack. Overall I fun while chopping through enemies.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is still the best by far though IMO.
@Grayson1048 at 3:36:02 how do you do that setup with the kusarigama on the black alchemist?
You throw single shurikens at them until they block them with their sword while standing still, and then you use Forward-Y with the Kusari.
why 360° Analog stick + y while sliding never works for me

I really like this game except for the bosses. A lot of them are whack. The final boss feels improperly programmed. I can never beat her with upgrading my health bar so replays feel aggravatingly limited.
Agreed, definitely not the best bosses in the series. But the Regent is cool the 4 times you fight him, and Protogoddess and Epigonos are also good bosses, I think.
I've never had a problem with the Goddess at the end... but it is a limited battle indeed, both phases.

What attack is that you keep spamming with the scythe. I can’t seem to do it
360 Y/triangle. Spin the joystick once and then tap strong attack. Sorry about the spamming, but it's the best attack in the game, based on its damage/duration/invincibility frames. On UN difficulty it's a must.
You can get hit and grabbed in between attacks, even if spamming continuously, so be careful.
Dude is there anyway you can explain that glitch duping points for upgrades? This run is insane nice job man 👍🏽

Basically, you activate it by pressing the SELECT button at the exact frame Ryu touches a scarab, you’ll hear the sound effect of picking a scarab a zillion overlapping times, while you earn 5000 karma for every frame that passes; that’s 300 K every second.
You can move the left joystick while the glitch to check how much you’ve acumulated at any given point, but it’s not mandatory.
Unfortunately, it was removed in the Master Collection, or so I gather.

Basically, you activate it by pressing the SELECT button at the exact frame Ryu touches a scarab, you’ll hear the sound effect of picking a scarab a zillion overlapping times, while you earn 5000 karma for every frame that passes; that’s 300 K every second.
You can then max out all weapons, or the ones that you want.
Unfortunately, it was removed in the Master Collection.

Well, it’s only Normal difficulty, so it wasn’t really tough. But Ultimate Ninja sadly can’t be done on True New Game, and speedrunning it without the glitch would be very, very, very hard, most likely surpassing my skills.

Man,how to kill the goddes using only dragon sword?I complete the whole game using only one sword,but this boss is too complicated.I don't wanna take the scythe or lunar staff,or any other weapons to beat her

@@Grayson1048 dude,i get it.But my tactic was not like yours.I just stand in the end of the rooftop and was waiting until the enemy come close to me to heat me and after that press counter attack. It helps me cut the enemies much faster with only two strikes to take them down.Repeating Izuna Drops against them too hard for me,they always blocks the attack
@@alandark360 Sounds like a good strat! They don’t block the Izuna Drop if you launch them with on-landing 360Y.

Idk if people realise this but the Dragon Muscle suit is a reference to the Guyver suit and you can see the resemblance to the two suits.

I'm just curious, how come unlocking all the weapons immediately is allowed in a NG run? Like to me that sounds more like NG+ stuff

You’re half right: indeed it’s not a true new game, but it’s not ng+ either, since I had to buy everything despite it being unlocked. It’s kind of a “ng+ lite”; however, this diffculty can not be played on a true new game, since it’s not available with a fresh save file, and unlocks are carried over after completing the easier ones.

Well, that's because you're wrong, I guess.
Well the damage says it all. When he gets hit the HP bar essentially evaporates and the enemies he fights are different than the ones on normal so I guess that's all that needs to be said.
