- Finally got the classic car that I have wanted for a while! 1969 Camaro came home with me a few weeks ago. This is my first car older than the 90s, so if you notice anything I didn't feel free to comment below! Looking forward to creating more content on this car!
Love it. Old cars are fun to cruise, but inevitably its coming apart and getting upgrades. No guilt.
Amazing transformation Chris!! Have enjoyed getting to see you turn the Vintage Camaro into an incredible piece of work!! Pretty freaking Gnarly the way you have incorporated just the right amount of late model technology to such an old platform!! Again, absolutely amazing build man 👍🏼
Originally found this channel from cts v but now just binge watching all videos. Good job, keep up the good work
It has the up graded 8.5 10 bolt rear end which is much stronger than the 8.2 10 bolt that probably came with this Camaro also the unibody has been tied with what looks like Competition Engineering frame connectors which is a good add on to any big block powered Camaro with a manual transmission. Nice looking 1969 Camaro that has alot of potential 💪👍🔥 !!!!!!
Starting from the beginning as I am with all your stuff and thoroughly looking forward to the journey. 👍🇬🇧
Love the car! Looks like the perfect candidate for what you want to do with it.
1. Yes that is a manual choke under the dash
2. The steering is called recirculating ball and that big thing at the end of the steering shaft is the steering box. This is where inputs are turned to slop haha
3. Those are aftermarket subframe connectors (I don't think any stock '69s came with them)
Awesome. Thanks for the info man!
Nice car! Looking forward to the content.
Nice find! Ironically I have a black C6Z for my DD and also have a black 67 RS/SS 396/4sp, but it's a convertible. I'd love to mod my 67, but I don't want to devalue the car and being a vert it probably doesn't make much sense anyway. Definitely need to upgrade those brakes! The tires and likely worn bushings are probably causing the car to be all over the road, although the steering ratio is nothing like the new cars so it will feel weird regardless. An OD trans is almost a must. Instead of going LS, I think it would be cool to keep it more period correct and do a TT BBC. That 402 (30 over 396) could still be used, or go larger. The BBC has a LOT of potential. 2k hp is pretty easy to hit with turbos...
you keep mentioning it...but WHAT did you pay for it?!?! Give us others who are are goaling for a 69 a look at what we can expect. Thanks and love the content.
I paid $23k for that one. But sold it a month or so later for which is closer to market value for that car
@@ChrisSullivan69 Wow. Maybe I just dont know who to search like you, or looking in the wrong places. But I'm not even concerned about matching numbers or anything original. Just a rouch shell that works being that I want to restomod it. And I cant find anything for under 40k. Whats your secret? haha. Thanks for the previous response.
@@christoler6547 As i explained in the video, this was posted for less than 15 minutes before I reached out to the owner. gotta be quick to get a deal
Subframe are all aftermarket..:)
Drove back to your house. She was creeping. 😂
Haha! You're following in my footsteps. I had a 67 Camaro SS and now and E55. What's next?
Loved watching this. I got turned on to your channel with the CTS-V videos. That was a great series. I love '69 Camaros. Will you make a playlist so I can watch them all and not miss one?
Chris - You mention in this video that the steering is terrible. Out of curiosity, do you recall how this felt and whether or not the ridetech setup on your current 69 is that much of an improvement? I’m on the fence on ridetech vs a new front subframe with rack and pinion.
Where’s the ls7 from the black car? Would be a nasty N/A option
down in Tampa giving life to another z06 that dropped a valve
I'll have my dream car, a 1st gen, 67 or 68 ss, rs/ss, yenko, whatever v8 i come across. Just as long as it's a 7 or 8, NOT a fan of the 69...
Your loss
Nothing like old school muscle💪 and in a 1969 Camaro I have 2 plus a 1970 Camaro 1968 Nova & 1965 Malibu all but one manual transmissions 😎😁
X44 COPO, ugly yellow #57, now MIDNIGHT BLUE.
3 pumps 🤣🤣
