Thank you for stopping by the Ozzstar channel! -Glen
I knew a lady that had one of those.
She liked it so much she kept it in her night stand.
I guess she was afraid of it getting stolen.
🤣
The one with a spring detent, you take the spring and push it to the side with your thumb while you install or remove a bit.
Got one today for busting small amounts of concrete. Thanks for the review. My first air hammer.
You're welcome Jeff. It's a decent tool for the money.
THANK YOU, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO BOTHERED TO SHOW US HOW TO PUT THE ATTACHMENT INSIDE THE TOOL !!
That's how we do things here on the Ozzstar's Cars channel. 👍
I have had the exact Ingersoll for the past 5 years. What a great improvement over my old Campbell Hausfield. The only issue I had was allowing the bit to free hammer with nothing in front of it. The 3 quick release detent balls that retain the bit dent the leading edge and the bit gets stuck in the tool.
An ounce of precaution is good info to know. It's nice when a tool outlives its warranty.
I know next to nothing about air hammers. The info was a big help. Thanks
Glad the video was helpful to you Tony.
Great vid thanks....I was just looking at buying one, now I will. Call it thumper!
Great video. Thanks. I just bought this air hammer and was wondering whether the bit should move around after being installed in the quick mount. Thanks to your video I can see that the bit does move freely in the quick mount chuck.
I called him boogie, I looked at your video to get rid of the plastic thing, no idea what it was, you solved the problem, thanks ! Dave
Thanks a lot sir for the video. Just got one of these to add the the never ending tool collection. Gonna use it to pull the knarly, rusty and swollen fan clutch off of my old suburban tomorrow. That was a great review.
Right on! We can never have enough tools Jesse!
Great video thanks brother. I like Ingersoll Rand. Looks like a great air hammer. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother
Thanks Scott.
Thanks good video just bought one!
Air hammer is one of those tools that you can't figure out why you need - until you have one. Then you can't figure out how you did anything without it!
Absolutely, it can save the day.
I just got an Ingersoll Rand air hammer just what was like on your show it worked out just fine
What did you use the IR to work on?
Looks like a great tool. One of my favorite tools for removing body panels
What brand do you have?
I have an Ampro that I bought at Advance. It has served me well.
Congrats on 10K!!!
Thanks!
Good review, thanks
Your welcome.
Nice tool review ozzstar
Thanks Antonio, appreciate you stopping by the channel again.
Great video,
Love the comedy that goes with it!
Asplenia.
Thanks, it's always fun to have a few laughs.
Good video ! I have a Ingersoll Rand air with Matco on it ☺ Good air hammer .
It's all in the badge. If it works good then that's what really matters. Thanks Norm
Looks like a pretty good tool and should give you better service than little wimpy. 😀👍
I never unscrewed the spring, just flip the spring around the shank of the bit
exactly! LOL I was laughing while he was doing that.
First! Okay actually 15th but who's counting? I have had good luck with Ingersoll rand. It works for my needs. Thumbs up as always!
Thanks man appreciate it!
I was welding up underneath a flatbed trailer this week. I couldn’t get my chipping hammer in the tight space and I thought I will not go many more days without a good air hammer in the shop.
This model would work perfect for knocking off slag.
5:11 have you tried using the ear on the spring to just push it out of the way thumb to change chisels in a couple seconds? I have been doing it like that for years
Me too i have never seen anyone take the bit out that way
How do you tighten down to spec?? 9 inch pounds and the whole chuck 4 ft lbs. Is there really a way to do this??
What a tool I also like the new air hammer lol
You lost points for not smashing the like button.
I just ordered one for my diesel mechanic purposes i work on concrete trucks so we use these to chip concrete off to get to what we need to fix.
The tool works well for the price.
Just got this. It was three times as powerful as my cheap one. As steal at the price!
Do you have safety MC Hammer pants to wear whilst using it?
Yes parachute pants with about 10 pockets.
Can i use one of these to remove bolts from an exhaust manifold with the socket extension on the air hammer ?
There are many uses with this tool.
I'm a 60 yo noobie with air tools. The 114GQC is my first. Thank you for showing me the respect deserved by that plastic waste of space and time.
My air compressor runs at 150 psi. Gutted this air hammer in a week. The only one to hold up is Big Nasty's brother! I should say that I'm a heavy portable welder and work off a truck.
That's some serious air hammer PSI.
Good video. Could you share the information on the air compressor you used to shear the bolt? Air pressure, gallon size, HP, CFM? Its my understanding that these tools require a good amount of air. I am trying to understand what kind of compressor would do the job. Also don't want to spend too much money on a compressor. Thanks in advance!!
I don't recall the CFM but I use a 20 year old Harbor Freight 21 gallon compressor. Works fine for what I use it for.👍
OZZ hi I have the same air hammer still in the box and has not seen a air hose yet I am looking forward to trying mine out. did you oil yours befor you used it? im doing a lower ball joint soon on a ford escort . the last one I did it took me about a 1/2 hr to get it off with a bfh and pickel fork bc I did not have a air hammer or a ball joint removel tool but now I have both
Even though the air hammer should be pre oiled from the factory I do oil my air tools before using them new. Good luck with the repair! Tool oil: amzn.to/2TvMC8o
Looks like you got a good replacement for lil wimpy.
The spring design is a push to the side design I've never seen anyone unscrew it. That's what the tabs are for.
I only have the harbor freight air hammer... big nasty costs too much. I was wondering if this IR is stronger than the HF?
Not sure, HF has been stepping up their game lately.
The Harbor Freight air hammer is really weak. I just bought one. Compared to a good air hammer it feels like a toy. All the reviews said it was badass. Evidently all the reviews are by people that haven’t owned a good air hammer.
I have the same one and I've busted my share of stuff - no need for anything else unless your really into busting more stuff than me.😅
What's the piece called you put on the bottom of the tool to connect it to your air hose
It's called a 1/4" male steel plug.
thanks for the video, well done... curious about the selection of the short barrel instead of a long barrel. Maybe just the cost?
Long barrel, bigger is better. 😁
The short one has its place, but I think 90 percent of people don't need the short barrel.
You don’t have to remove the aping in wimpy to change the bit. You see the ears on spring. You pry that over to the side to change the bit
If i ever take Lil Wimpy out for a job I'll have to try that.
I was wondering if you put any No 10 oil in it before you used it. I just purchased one
Yes occasionally I squirt some dinosaur juice in there.
I've never used an air hammer . is this model powerful enough to cut rivets from a truck frame ?
Depends on the chisel and the how hard the metal rivet is.
The spring is quick if you know how to use it. You do not have to take off. Push spring over with thumb and remove/install tool.
Glad I have a quick release now
The user manual says that the tool is coated with some kind of protective coating inside and out which should be removed with a suitable cleaning solution prior to lubrication and first use.
Does anyone actually do this, and if so, what cleaning solution needs to be used, the manual is a bit vague about that.
I put a few drops of tool oil in it and go to town. No issues.
Helpful video. First time using an air hammer and mine came with no instructions.
With the "Smaller" Air Hammers, you use the End Tab to push it aside to Install/Remove bits!
You don't have to remove the Spring every time.
Do you know of an Air Hammer that "locks" the Chisel Bits, to keep them from rotating durring use?
Just my 2 cents,

Wow that is a lot of information. Are you a tool designer engineer sounds amazing?
@@ozzstars_cars
Not a Tool Engineer, I just "tend to OVERTHINK EVERYTHING!
A bit OCD as my wife says...
Almost finished with my Engineering Degree though.
Hope you are doing well.😊
Thanks for responding,

Nice, but that claw hammer though😉😂😂😂😂
lol
can you get tie rod removal tools for this?
Yes a pickle fork kit like this is very useful amzn.to/2MC0jjg
Why is it that air hammers never actually come with the hammer bit?
Actually this air hammer comes with three different types of chisels. I didn't catch it on video but it was under the cardboard packaging.
The Best air hammer that I have used is the Japanese made CP-714 the CP-714 made in China are not as good the CP is expensive. I have used air hammer almost every day because I have worked in the past doing front end suspension work and over the years I have used many air hammer and my favorite!!!
Just ordeded this model. I have a Ford 3000 tractor that I need to remove a broken wheel stud, cant wait to see how it works. Also thought of a couple of other problems that this might be the solution.
It's a helpful tool to have, many uses.
A bit of lube to break-in the virgin tool!?
Of course, 6 drops. 😉
is it just me or it working the same as old wimpy with the exception of the quick change made it no seem so great?
It has a little more power than Lil Wimpy, and much more comfortable to hold when using.
I have one that’s made by Mac that looks just like that, it must have really been made by IR.
Probably a good possibility with a larger price tag.
how to fill oil?
Add 5-10 drops inside the air chuck fitting.
Sorry no bueno not for me I mean nice gun for 40$ but it barely cut a 5/16 bolt I definitely need more power then that glad I watched the video it looks great for cutting body panels or something light but I’d def consider it a light duty air chisel
Bigger is better! The $300 air hammers are the bomb!
It could be "Miss Nasty" because that tool it's prettier than "Big Nasty". I like that: "I'm yelling because I have the earmuffs on". Nice review but I have to admit, I bought Big Nasty about a year ago. I couldn't help myself. But then I realized I didn't have any of the accessory tools with the bigger shank size the hammer required. So yeah, it got expensive. I think you'll be happy with your choice of air hammers but I'll always have the tool with the bigger shank size. That should make you stay up all night. (ha ha)
Wyatt now we know yours is bigger than mine. lol Have a good weekend!
Good video Glen semi nasty haha
haha Thanks man.
I r is ok most jobs it will be fine... better then astro of that size. set psi to 150 miss nasty sounds good
Yeah I was only running around 95 psi for this demo. Miss Nasty is sounding like a popular name so far.
1st BOOM
You sir are a 1st BOOM master!
Yes i am lol
I have an IR about the same size as yours (forget the model) and i call it a piece of Sh??t. I'm sure the new one is better than "LiL Wimpy" however. I think that size really does matter.
Size sure does matter, we can put that rumor to rest. haha
Dance planer! Dance!
Vibratory effect moves, on the 'dance' floor. haha
anyone use this in a shop professionally? is it durable and strong enough?
It's very durable but if I used an air hammer every day I'd go with a $300-400 model which is more powerful.
dude that has names for his tools.......lmao you gotta be the first
I thought we all name our tool(s)? Haha. Thanks for stopping by the channel.
Wow Pennsy accent coming at yas
Close, NY and Delaware.
Name her "Cheap Date"
lol I like that name! Mind if I use it?
I like the tool feels good in hand but is weak
It is weak in comparison to what? For the money this air hammer kicks butt!
@@ozzstars_cars well in an automotive setting this air hammer is good at being loud. I have one and I used it to try and get the rivets out of a lower ball joint on a 07 Silverado. Loud was all it was. I have a bigger it and it punched it out. Also on the studs for a rear axle and same situation. It's not bad for a starter hammer but if you are gonna need some beans then you need a bigger hammer. A true long barrel. In a pinch it will do but if you want power and are trying to make money spend the extra 100$ and get the hd max or go astro. That's all I was saying. As far as body work goes it's a good hammer. Not trying to be disrespectful to your channel that's just my opinion. On another note I have been watching your videos and you got good content. Keep up the good stuff.
@@justinisom6161 where can I get an Astro long barrel air hammer for an extra $100
@@ozzstars_cars Amazon the astro Thor long barrel air hammer is 105$ plus shipping and handling.
@@ozzstars_carsThor air hammer at auto tool world for 102$
Bruh take a long walk
You're right. I could definitely use the exercise.
How does this tool work on human flesh?
I haven't tried that yet.
Have you been removing the spring for 20 years, just push the retaining spring over with your thumb.
Haha Not anymore since Lil' Wimpy retired.
you reviewed an "Air" hammer tool and did not "hammer" anything. How about loosening a control arm or something? a real life situation.
I guess you missed the bolt being sheared off?
Don’t waste ur time with this air hammer…
Why would you say that? If you make a statement back it with facts so we can understand.
For 10,000 rupees I wont buy this thing
That sounds expensive.
hey, on the airflow adjuster bolt, which way does it lessen the power? counter clockwise or clockwise?
In less out more. I think.
