Hi Rakshita, you'll need reference letters in this format for 'any' work experience in the past 3 years which you wish to claim CRS points for. If one of your prior jobs isn't at least 1 year (1,560 working hours) in the past, you can provide more than 1 reference letters to make up for that, provided your NOC code was similar for both jobs. Hope this clears your confusion. All the best for your application; have a great day!

Do we have to follow the same format as an employed person or just an acknowledgement / appreciation letter from clients would do? Getting this format from a client would be very tough and many elements from this don't apply for self employed such as hours worked, salary, internal duties etc. Kindly advise.

Hi Jason! one question about work experience; let's say I worked as a dual student ( combination of an apprenticeship in drafting and studies to become a civil engineer) for 4 years of which the first year was full-time and the following years were part-time ( only working in semester holidays and on project weeks) and after that, as I hadn't finished studying civil engineering, I have been working part-time, all in the same company. Can I count this all to the same NOC if the work I did was similar/same? Would this count to the civil engineering NOC if the tasks match even though I didnt have a degree yet and my position was basically a "working student"? Thank you in advance!

Hello! Very useful information! What should be the date of the reference letter? Should it be prepared before creating a profile in an express entry or other provincial program or right after getting the invitation? If the title of my work position doesn't sound like those listed at NOC website, but the majority of my duties suit the noc code, can we write an actual position title as it is in the reference letter? Or should it be the same as listed at NOC description?

    • @DreamCanada
      @DreamCanada  Před 3 lety +1

Hi Viktoriia, the date can be randomly set to the date you receive your reference letter from your company; there's no validity as such. Its advised that you get ALL your documents ready JUST AFTER you create your Express Entry profile, WHILE you're waiting for your ITA. This is because some documents like a PCC, etc. take time to get issued, and you'll get just 60 days after your ITA to submit all your documents online. You can write a different job title (whatever you're working as currently in your company), just ensure that your duties and responsibilities match at least 4-5 duties mentioned under the NOC list on the IRCC website. All the best for your application; have a great day!

1.Regarding work experience , the company with whom I worked initially have been acquired by other company so while getting the Experience letter from new employer , is it advisable to ask the new firm if they can mention the company name transition in the letter or do we have to support any other relevant documents to Canadian government ?
    2. Also, I have a Canadian work experience through the same firm ( onsite experience) . I believe this can be counted as a Canadian work experience. The duration of my onshore assignments are multiple for 3-4 months every time . Should I ask the employer to mention this foreign assignment details also in the same work experience letter or is there are any specific process that I need to follow to declare my International work experience.

Hi Mr. Jason! Your videos are very well explained and we dropped the idea of consulting an agent for the PR process following your videos.
However, I do have unusual problem which is, I was hired for a position(Teaching Assistant) in a school whereas my actual roles and responsibilities is that of a Data Miner and have never taught the students even once. They have not given me a promotion or change in designation as that means they have to pay a higher salary. Although I can get the Work Reference Letter with all the duties and responsibilities I had during my tenure, the job title would be that of a "Teaching Assistant". This gives me a lot of anxiety as nobody would believe that I was doing Data mining work the moment they read my title and that it is no way related to my actual work. Please guide me if this job title would be a problem? Although I have read that job duties are more important than job title, mine are way different from each other. Hence, please guide. Thank you. Waiting for your reply.

Or should I only submit one from my current company after completing 1 year?

I have just finished my 1 year work experience. I joined this company in June 2021 through staffing service and they hired me full time in December 2021. I am working in same position since I joined. Just wanted to know how it works for the reference letter. Should I ask my company HR to include that I was working 6 months through staffing service or ask staffing service for a letter?

    Hi!
I am loving your videos. They are like tutorials, surprisingly detailed and yet crisp. Great job.
I would like to know if this reference letter is required from EVERY employer I worked with?
I have 5 years of experience in the same field (2.5 years in company1, then 1.5 years in company2, then 1 year in company3, then spent 6 months in a startup accelerator program).
As express entry profile takes into account only "3 or more years" of experience. Is it okay if I show 3 years of experiences that I want to claim CRS points for? Also, these experiences will have a gap of 1.5 years (for my company2) as I am worried that the employer in my company2 wasn't a nice person and he may not agree to provide this letter.
It would be great if you could put some light on this scenario. Thanks in advance.

However, I spent only 3 months in one of the companies. two questions here q1) Is it mandatory to get a reference letter from all the companies? q2) Since, it's only 3 months, I can list it in the work experience section but not provide a reference letter. q3) If I get a reference letter from my current employer, he might know that I have plans to switch companies/countries, etc. Is this how everyone does it?

      1. No, it is not necessary to obtain reference letters for all your jobs, just the ones you're claiming CRS points under the work experience factor.
      2. No need to list it at all.
      3. Current employers usually provide reference letters without problems, but in the case that they refuse, you can ask your immediate supervisor or any other superior/HR manager to send you the letter on a company email thread.

      c) In addition, my employer will not provide salary and benefits detail in the reference letter. However, I have the salary slips as proof. Should I attach it as well (citing the reason in the explanation letter?)
