    Having this, or something like this, as a kit would be a great way to get a stat-monitoring dashboard for your pc. Old phones like these are everywhere. Literally have a pile of them right here next to me.

      And who would provide the support for every single old smartphone display (remember, they have all different connectors and they're too tiny to solder with a bunch of wires)?

      @@tomw6301 is there any way to find the pinout of the screen connectors?

      @screen-protector Před rokem +1

      @@romashul9672 there's always a way ;), even if you have to blindly look which one is which. The question is, is it worth ;).

    • @romashul9672
      @romashul9672 Před rokem +2

      @@screen-protector maybe im just not looking hard enough for a pinout, I would manually test every pin if i weren't afraid of destroying the lcd panel somehow.

    • @screen-protector
      @screen-protector Před rokem +3

      @@romashul9672 Maybe first learn about the LVDS signal to understand what HGV, HGL, VDD or AVDD with clock are. This will give you a rough idea how displays are working in general. Then is worth learning about MIPI type of displays and understanding the difference in between these two ;).
      Now you can find some display which you don't care much about and try to look for a datasheet for it online. If you can't find it, at least you can try to guess your pin out based on your new knowledge.

Without this file find the right place for every single component is really hard. So I want to ask you if you could share .kicad_pcb file for rev1. On the git there is only PCB layout for rev2.

    I am very new to all this stuff. I want to make a project with a raspberry and cell phone LCD. I was thinking about using a small raspberry pi zero (because it is the smallest) and a phone LCD for a display. I'm trying to make a small leather notebook about the size of a wallet have a built in display. I'd like to have the LCD display a calender where I can make events, the time and weather, possibly other things in the future. would I be able to do this project with a raspberry pi zero? or would I need something else? I don't really know how I am going to do this at all yet so all info would be great! thank you and awesome videos!

I mean, I have a quite capable Galaxy S20 that has a broken display (still works connected through USB-C to HDMI) but it goes to sleep often in dex mode. I would love to be able to maybe take the motherboard and components and connect it to say a laptop 14/15 inch display from a broken laptop, and turn it into a mini DexPC. so basically convert the S20 ribbon into a LCD compatible ribbon, or just taken the motherboard connect a ribbon to a board like yours but for output to monitor instead?
