INTP- my favourite quote was "if you make people think that they're thinking, they'll love you; but if you make them think they will hate you", it reminds me of how people subscribe to theories instead of doing their own research, and would rather have something handed to them regardless of if it is true.
That also struck a chord with me, but in relation to all the grifters and reactionary 'intellectuals' going around these past few years.
I really liked that one, too! I'm guilty of taking shortcuts sometimes, disregarding things that seem unnecessary for me to meet my goal, in an effort to be efficient, but I also deeply value when someone knocks me right off my well laid tracks and pushes me to a different, more accurate/deeper place... even if I am annoyed with them for it in the moment. This is something a dear INTP friend has done to me several times and it's one of the things I appreciate being annoyed with them for, lol. -INTJ
Makes me think of making an MBTI test rather than going into functions. Plus: truth hurts. So people don't want to hear it.
INFJ- I see a lot of Ni and Fe in that quote too, or at least those functions play a big role in my memories it evokes. In our hyper-polarized world, nothing upsets people more than asking thoughtful questions and taking a holistic stance, separate from the presented false dichotomies
What you are saying is very true. Especially when it comes to finding out real news these days. You can’t believe almost anything you hear until you do your own research. Many people like to take a shortcut by just blindly trusting the media, without even considering weather they are trustworthy or not. Many have also stopped thinking for themselves and just allow others to dictate how they feel about certain matters. I really wish more educational fields would teach people how to actually think, instead of simply teaching people how to memorize information from someone else’s brain.

Ni itself can be a decent planner as it's attempting to simulate a possible outcome via by narrowing down options

Thank you for directing my thoughts towards something. Life is a bit much for me now so this helps. 🙏🏻 I will try to search for quotes that resonate with the functions and share them. But for now I will share some quotes that seem like precious lessons for every person.

The idea of someday commiting that I myself could/should create a platform of creative content in which I take audiences on a guided tour of the pages in my small number of accumulated quote books is a relaxing one -- but also, to quote a former tour-guiding trainer of mine: "they don't pay to be read to." And so I guess I shall have to contribute individual quotes at a time in the most constructive way as is fitting to each individual occasion! Let us hope that in the future this INTJ has the spontaneity and presence of mind to do so! 💪 But already I digress and to put relevancy into practice I will start by my reflection that my tour-guiding trainer was likely a splendid representation of the ISTJ personality - although that quote may lean more ENTJ✓
There were probably some cognitive biases involved, but I could almost type myself based on how much I relate to each group of quotes.

Hey Nathan, I’ve been thinking recently about Fe. My analysis is that it’s like social duct tape, or a spare tire. It smooths over an issue enough to keep the group dynamic functioning for a while, BUT you also shouldn’t use duct tape or spare tires forever. At some stage you have to do the hard work and fix things more comprehensively. Thoughts?
I am an INFP so I can't talk for Fe users anyways I find myself too agreeable often. I hate having to confront someone even if what they do bothers me. If a small thing happens over and over again, it will eventually lead to anger (internally at the very minimum) in the long run.
I had talks with high Fe users to talk about what went wrong but I still haven't told them my true feelings about them, so I guess they are probably more willing to fix things.
Edit: In my opinion it just depends on the person. Is it worth trying to safe the friendship? If so, you have to talk. If it isn't worth it just let it go.
Fe has awereness of the mechanisms which regulate human interaction and the impact of actions on the social sphere. Look at it like a deep knowing of the vibes.
If you look at conflict managed with Fe, well, in pathological cases there's no conflict at all as Fe becomes fully subservient to either the interest of the group or the keeping of social harmony.
A well developed Fe can manage conflicts by developing compromises and looking past position to discover interest and offer solutions that create new harmony instead of being needlessly attached to the previous one and thus incapable of living through a conflict.
To sum up, people pleaser Fe can't handle conflict and just tries to patch things up, while developed Fe goes deep into the roots of conflict and tries to create harmony
It is true that it's important to know when to switch off your preferred functions. When you're accustomed to approaching in an Fe-like way it becomes very difficult to stop. The main reason for this is that the character of your relationships are forged in that Fe image. To suddenly become disagreeable would look like a big character change even to the close people in your life. I would recommend two different approaches. The first is simply to cultivate disagreeableness as a trait and to use it when necessary. An extra little tactic would be to flex that disagreeableness every now and then just to show people that it's there so they know that your usual Fe approach is by choice. The second approach is more of a philosophical one. If you're going to approach life in an Fe way then it's likely that people will take you for granted quite often. If you reconcile yourself with this in advance you can then craft your strategies whilst accounting for this. It's an approach of acceptance ~ Nathan

I put this comment on this video because it's the most recent one about the cognitive functions you made.
I've come to a realisation that I don't understand why there are only 4 cognitive functions in ones stack instead of 8, (all of them). Every personality type has a relationship with all 8 cognitive functions and in my view should belong somewhere on ones stack.
I think it's very well possible to have multiple dominant functions, and/or multiple polar functions. I think it's also possible that functions that are exact opposites don't have to be in the dominant and polar slot per se.
At least speaking from personal experience (I'm an INTJ), the cognitive functions in this stack are imo right where they should be but I also really use Ti in my daily life, not only abstracting, connecting the dots but also pondering why things are the way they are. Ti and Te are not mutually exclusive, I think they can actually really enhance eachother. They might be both in my secondary slot. It's perfectly possible to first ponder and do nothing and when things are figured out then take action.
On the other hand, Fe is my polar function, but I also think Se is. I don't like adjusting to outside situations and I really like shaping them to my own liking. I'm way more in tune with Si, than with Se, strangely Si isn't even in my function stack... Why not...
In order to really understand your own personality, I think it's important to not only learn about the 4 cognitive functions that come with your stack, but your relationship with all 8.

I´m an INFP (with Fi as my first function) and I have that Coco Chanel quote in a frame at home :D
INFJ- idk about half those Ni quotes, esp “The only way to predict the future is to build it”. That’s much more Ne and /or Si. Ime, Ni with Fe can be scary accurate with predicting the future, but it works by noticing sociocultural trends and knowledge of history that emphasizes bigger sociological forces (not great man bs). Also Ni sees multiple paths to the same effect; wouldn’t use “the only way…” like this. So to make that quote Ni, could say something like “one way to predict the future is to read/watch a lot of quality historical fiction and see how it’s similar to the present.” Or related, “those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.”
Audre Lorde quotes often have a lot of Ni and Fe. Here are some examples that demonstrate Ni (with Fe):

I agree with what you're saying here. To me the quote used in the video capture the determination and the will of Ni. Although as you say Ni is often observing trends and patterns, when it's locked onto a goal or vision it can be a relentless force and needn't always be passive ~ Nathan
@@lovewho thanks for clarifying! Context is key for Ni. That determination comes after A LOT of time/energy deliberating and confidence building, but it might be the main thing other people see. Depending on where we are in the process, Ni looks either really indecisive or really stubborn. With the wording of the quote, I was thinking about how we “just know” what’s going to happen but can struggle with doing anything about it… but once we see a viable path, can be pretty relentless
