    I never could understand her insecurity. She had
    taken this long to be with Castle, so he is scared too. He thinks after two failed marriages. She will run too. The writers never highlighted this, it is obvious.

    I don't think that he is clueless he just never
    knows how she reacts to things there is no doubt that he
    loves her he's proved it how many times and when a man stays with you
    not knowing if your going to be blow away that speaks to this is more that just
    two people dating.

      Indeed!!!! PLUS wasn't this in... "Rise of the machines" as I call it lol?! They already exchanged mutual "I love you"s (at looooooooong last but still!!! (;P)) if that doesn't say "dating" I mean seriously, monogamous, committed dating I don't know what does!! I'm glad they deleted this scene coz it doesn't make any sense!!! Kit's whole insecurities didn't make any sense!!! She shoulda just talked it out with Rich and figured it out as a couple!!! That's what stage they're at - the couple stage, past dating!!!!
      Now we all know Caskett were awesome, beautiful, strooooong, magic, REAL etc. etc. but sometimes the writing was a little hinky n'ais pas??

    It shows how she is feeling confused about where the relationship is going. However, I do think that the two should've sat down and talked about where things were going instead of continually working through the emotions. I feel the scene with Vaughn kind of takes this into complexity on how she feels. Although I don't agree with Vaughn kissing her in the first place, on the other hand, I think it adds more depth to what she feels for Castle. Again, they just need to sit down and talk it out instead of working through the emotions.

    One of my favorite all time shows S 1 - 6. Once they got together and the friction between the actors became an issue it lost much of it's charm. Kept needing to separate them with story lines. I've binged it twice during covid and still love it but the early seasons are the best.

    Ok. so as much as I love this deleted scene, I already knew and felt Beckett's feelings of confusion and fears and insecurities. She's been like this when it comes to Castle since the beginning.
    Food To Die For and the apple cart conversation always stands out to me when it comes to Beckett's fears and doubts and insecurities when it comes to Castle and their relationship.
    I loved the ending arc and even the Vaughn moment added layers to Beckettand her mindset. That was so in character, IMO.

    One has nothing to do with the other... Circumstances/situations arise everyday. Just because we did something on Monday doesn't mean we have to do the same thing on Friday if something similar occurs. I could learn from the mistakes I made on Monday and do better on Friday or I could have done it right on Monday and screwed up on Friday. Anything could have happened on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday that alters perception and behavior... I love the subtext and context of this show/characters.

    I have a genuine question. Why did kate ever have doubts about castle's fidelity? Like that played a huge role in her not wanting to take the risk and date him but when has he ever cheated or not been serious about someone he was dating for that to be such a huge concern for her?

    • @TheJCMlove
      @TheJCMlove Před 2 lety +8

      She didn't doubt his fidelity. She knew he cared deeply about her and loved her but Castle had *2* exwives and was known to be a playboy in his past. She wasn't sure how much of that was still in him. I think she was just realizing that she was Falling Hard for Castle, from the beginning he made her feel alive and brightened up her life in a way that she may have not experienced with others, Castle got past walls that only Beckett knew was there--- it made her want to keep him around but for her own heart protection, keep things at a distance.
      By this time in the series, she has let down all her guards for Castle, She wants to know that now that he 'has' her his desire for her won't dwindle or she could be wondering if even though she fell for him last, if she had fallen the hardest of the two.

      i always think of the convo she had with Alexis' mom saying he never revealed much of himself and that she(Meredith/Kate) was always giving and he knew everything about her but it wasn't reciprocated.And also yes Beckett is realizing she really loves him deep and hadn't felt thatw ay before with anyone and was in uncharted waters and fears he has had practice where she hadn't at this level.

    Castle is known to deflect/evade/ignore or completely miss the point at times when it comes to Beckett. Some fans blame everything on her, but there are two people in this relationship. This scene is really no different than past moments shared when one of them is trying to figure out what the other is feeling. This isn't something unusual for these two to experience. Misconceptions, misassumptions, miscommunication, and insecurities, fears, and doubts. Caskett in a nutshell.

    • @neha445able
      @neha445able Před 3 lety +6

      He was insecure was a reason. He had two failed marriages and Beckett could not see that. He thinks serious relationships do not work for him, so he was walking on the pace, Beckett dictated. And she did try to run to D.c, it was not for a job as her dad pointed out.

    Ever since I watched "The Squab and the Quail" again, I have been more than a little peeved at KB's lack of faith in RC's dedication to to their relationship. Considering that the planned sequence was "Still", TS and TQ, The Human Factor and Watershed, I cannot fathom a story arc that starts with RC putting his life totally on the line for KB, only to have her give into a temporary flirtation and doubt HIS FIDELTY to them. I suppose it was done to heighten the dramatic tension, but I believe that RC's explosive reaction to her interview was entirely justified in light of HER OWN lack of faith in him. This has left me with a very uncomfortable feeling for their future which only a WEDDING and LITTLE CASTLE BABIES will put to rest.

    • @Blondezilla90
      @Blondezilla90 Před 10 lety +1

      not to fret it was simply the writing that was lacking...they tried to put doubts into kate and ultimately the viewers....so they cud write watershed as a break up but end with a proposal...
      i think they never thought this story through....cause if whe nu think about it: had kate really attempted to solve it, it would have been solved in squab.

    • @andromedach
      @andromedach Před 10 lety +3

      Kate is a very close to a classic neurotic. While some point to her mother's death something else has to explain her fear of believing in others. Fortunately whatever was the cause seems to evaporate in season 6, specifically the end of 6x03 when she realizes how much he will give up for her (moving to DC)

    • @Ins4n1ty_
      @Ins4n1ty_ Před 10 lety +8

      andromedach Its not neurotic. She had doubts because they never talked about where they were going, she's just as dense as Castle when it comes to relationships. For Castle it's obvious he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, but for Beckett it isnt that much. Both of they need to actually SAY everything they feel because they're just blind when it comes to one another. That's the whole reason they didnt get together back in season 3 when they first kissed. Also, she has trust issues because of what happened to her mother, so she keeps her feelings for herself and thats why Castle had to fight for every single bit of trust.
      The fact that in season 6 she is more open and doesnt keep doubts to herself is because she learned her lesson and as she said herself: The walls came down. She's completely open to him.
      As mr. eyebrowstj also pointed out, Castle is VERY defensive when it comes to Beckett, because since she's the one he trully loves, she's also one of the only people who can actually hurt him deeply, and as they are both dense and tend to miscommunication, it has a pretty high chance of happening everytime a serious subject gets brought on table, so he evades these talks.

    • @leeny6319
      @leeny6319 Před 10 lety +2

      Rodrigo Capociama That would make sense only the trust issues are not consistent. What about the beginnig of season 5 when 3XK tried to frame Castle? If she should have any doubts she would have most reasons then and she didn't. I think she was affraid that she wants more when Castle is just enjoying the moment.

    To me, this scene almost seems kinda out of place with the episode, not sure where it would have gone. And the two of them have always had communication issues with each other. They seem to say want they really want to when they have one of the big fights or are in a dangerous situation. I think the way the finale played fell more in line with how they are with each other and the characters we have known over the last 5 seasons.
