- After accepting the Albert Schweitzer award at Last Chance for Animals' 2017 Annual Gala, Philip Wollen delivered a phenomenal speech about the egregious treatment of animals and the destructive ramifications of their plight. The compassionate philanthropist described the impact that our food choices have on the lives of billions- human and nonhuman alike. @Bruno56 yes but there weren't nearly as many Neanderthals and cavemen as there are people today living today... and did you know that a cow will eat more food than it will ever give. It acts just like a penny which costs more to make than it is worth. They also produce more methane and greenhouse gasses than cars do. Eating cows and pigs and meat isnt about curbing hunger or sating your appetite, its about feeding your greed and not listening to the facts when they are plainly in front of you.

Sitting in the audience on the night he shared this talk last month left a permanent, indelible impression on me...and, I remember it being nothing short of electrifying. Philip Wollen is, without a doubt, my spirit human.
I love this. I can completely see how and why you feel this way about him. I've only just discovered him, via Facebook. Where has he been? Why has he not popped up in my life before? Regardless, he's in it now and that I am grateful for.

I have thought about this alot, Danielle. It can be done. We could crowdfund buying a country, but I came to the conclusion that it would be counterproductive. We need to be among the flesh eaters so we can rehabilitate them. We are actually in a perfect situation if you think how christian missionaries (I am not religious btw) in the olden days had to travel far and wide to spread their "word". All we need to do is walk out our front doors and we are surrounded by them.
