Dude i don't know if u have read the general anatomy of computers or not but it would hardly effect your performance if you are running a better sets of hardware in which monitor also includes as refresh rate also matter. I am not saying that its cuz ur hardware that you are better at the game but hardware plays a role in it. Using cheap keyboard, mouse and earphone would hardly impact as using a cheap processor or capped refresh rate. I again wana say that i don't judge your skills but i question the way you are proving your skills to the person who said that you are only better as you are on a better hardware. So if you wana let that person know that you are better try playing your game on 60hz refresh rate with a cheap processor as valorant is more processor oriented that GPU.
