Only One month ago I was so depressed. I do not think I`ve ever been so low. It was all because of my terrible breath. In the adult industry when we are shooting, before the scene we make sure that all our personal hygiene is a good to go. It’s the same thing when shooting a mainstream movie, before the scene, if the actors(and actresses) know they are going to be super close, kissing or a sex scene then they brush their teeth real fast.
Sometimes if things are running behind schedule you may just tell the person you’re shooting with “sorry everything’s running behind so I didn’t have an extra five minutes to brush my teeth so sorry if I have bad breath” on occasion the other actor will apologize before hand. Or we just pop in a mint. But most of the time we(actors and actresses) handle our hygiene before the scene. 😉

Everyone has occasional bad breath but some people have extreme halitosis. My best friend in HS was this way. She had some sort of disorder in her gut, I believe, it wasn't her teeth.
Yeah many gut issues cause bad breath. Unfortunately gut issues take time to cure so no matter how much you brush it won't fix it. Sometimes mouthwash and gum or candy make it worse due to mint or sugar.

Some people just have an odor no matter what they do. Things like this lead to isolation though. People seem to think that people with a smell are not trying hard enough or they just don't care, but the truth is that people with issues like this likely try harder than the rest and it still does nothing to change the problem. Years and years of trying this, that or the other thing hoping it will work, but it never does for some people.

Just read all the comments and the possible causes of bad breath. No one mentioned genetics. Halitosis gene? I’ve met people who never had the problem even if they were smokers and/or ate offending foods like garlic and onions and/or never brushed. I do the whole dental hygiene thing-including flossing, tongue brushing, gargling, regular dental visits-but I occasionally have the problem as my husband tells me immediately. Stress, as one person mentioned, is also a big culprit.

I brushed my teeth and tongue after I watched the video ..though I already brushed them this morning ..felt like I had to do it again after I watched it ..lol
I have never, ever had bad breath as can be verified by my hubby, friends and dentist through the years. Once when my husband had very bad breath and I thought he was sick, one of our dentist friends recommended CloSYS and a tongue scraper. He scraped his tongue and the problem was gone. He'll still scrape his tongue once in a while just to make sure he doesn't offend. It is NOT the food we eat usually but a bacteria on the tongue. Of course, good dental care is essential for good health also. But if this is a problem for anyone I highly recommend CloSYS and a tongue scraper. Plus DO NOT eat food that may not be pleasant smelling before going out in a crowd with up-close proximity to someone. You'll never be embarrassed again.

Omg!! The last guy I dated(my last ex bf) developed wicked, awful, unbearable bad breath the last couple months him and I were together! No matter how many times he brushed his teeth, flossed, used mouth wash, mints or gum, nothing worked! It came to the point where I had to keep at least 2 feet of distance between us because his breath smelled so bad! Every morning my whole apartment would smell like his bad breath because he would sleep with his mouth open! I threw up a couple times because I was gagging so much! During all of this he never even made a dentist or doctors appointment! His breath had a very sharp, sour, fucking horrible smell to it! And nothing could get rid of it! 24-7 his breath smelled so awful!! My guess is because he NEVER flossed for over 20+ years and didn't know how to brush his teeth correctly that bacteria had built up in his mouth and not going to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned, the bacteria probably hardened onto his teeth and between his teeth! And yes you read that correctly he never flossed! I literally had to teach him how to floss and I had to teach him how to brush his teeth! Lol wtf, I kno....

Apparently she had a problem with a valve somewhere between her stomach/ colon and her throat which wouldn't close and therefore allowed her stomach and shit to gas up and come out of her mouth.

Many people don't understand how horrible it truly is to have a partner with disgusting breath that never subsides! The smell never goes away! My ex bf wouldn't even make an appointment to see a dentist and a doctor. So we never knew what was causing his disgusting breath. Hopefully by now he has seen a doctor. But I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't. It's surprises me that I was even able to tolerate it for as long as I did. Unfortunately though all that did was make me completely grossed out by him so now if I see a picture of him I get completely grossed out! Just the thought of how AWFUL his breath was makes my stomach turn!

Ear Nose and Throat DR. I know that is where I learned II had a big sinus problem and everything in my nose and sinus' was horribly misaligned and closed up, broken and needed balloon sinuplasty. Also I'll wager he did not clean his tongue with a tongue scraper.
Some of us need help from our friends telling us how to fix our problem and some of us have fresh breath naturally. I dated one woman who 's breath was fresh as a daisy from the minute she woke up. Crazy huh? Meanwhile the poor girl was suffering from my problems.

Dee Cea My ex didn't know how to brush his teeth! I had to literally teach him in the bathroom, I had to show him how to brush his teeth. I had to show him how to clean his tongue, and all the other areas in the mouth! And then I had to teach him how to floss. If I didn't remind him to brush his teeth he wouldn't! It was ridiculous! I would try to make excuses up so he wouldn't have to brush his teeth, knowing how bad his breath smelled! When I say I actually threw up a couple times because it smelled so bad I'm not exaggerating I really did puke!

Besides people not bathing for weeks, there is nothing that is more repulsive to me than bad breath. People make sure you brush your teeth twice a day, chew mint flavored gum (or take breath mints) after every meal (well just the meals that cause horrible breath). If your mouth gets dry, make sure you take a breath mint, especially if you get the feeling from people that something is up. Better safe than sorry!
