@@elenasmcanonico3163 good point :) I was talking about the scene in the final season, when Catra decided to leave and Adora shouted her name alone in the forest
"How much do you want her?" Well, Catra created different plans only for Adora to go with her to the horde, she faced what SW did to help her escape, she almost destroyed an entire universe only to have Adora by her side again and a remnant of things ... She wants her in an unhealthy way
no, not really, in S5 its later revealed she just wants to protect her, not leave her again, and its all backed up, she has abandonment and attachment issues, and OF COURSE it would SEEM unhealthy because really she needs to work out said issues, she never wanted her in an UNHEALTHY way she just loved her and wanted her to stay,
@@remwifeyy I meant that it seemed like that in the first seasons, Catra is one of my favorite characters and until I saw more of the past I understood a lot about her, it's just that I was barely going in the second season and with the marathon well ...
@@remwifeyy if destroying the world and everyone in it is not an example of unhealthy obsession, then I'd like to know what is. I believe she was unhealthy in her desire to have Adora stay by any means-- a selfishness that was all consuming, but that she got better when she learned what a healthy love would look like. One that is the opposite of selfish desire. She learned to accept that she wanted Adora to live and be happy even if that meant without them being together. (ie her sacrifice)
@@babybabybaby9201 no she wanted to destroy the universe because she had nothing lest and was abused and never knew love. She grew up in The horde and it was the only comfort she knew. She switched sides I the end because she noticed the gravity of the situation and realised there is love in the world and it is worth saving.
Well in Catras defense, not knowing if your girl crush is lesbian too seems to be very commen in the community. Even though their crush literally said "I love you, I never want to live without you"
Catra: Adora doesn't want me! Adora: *Takes on the single most powerful army in the known universe, that holds almost every civilisation in it's grasp for THOUSANDS OF YEARS, just to bring her home.*
I think 1 of the main reasons Catra couldn’t c how much Adora wanted her was because Adora tended 2 express herself thru actions rather than her words. And 4 Catra, who had only ever bin told she would never b wanted or valued by her superiors multiple times subconsciously brought herself 2 believe this. The phrase ‘Actions speak louder than words.’ isn’t always true in terms of how they affect everyone. Just hearing someone say out loud that they care about u, want u or love u can b eye opening in ways that r far more straight forward & clear than just performing an action that indicates or implies how u feel. In that respect, I don’t feel that words r given enough credit in terms of their impact.
I agree wholeheartedly. Actions can often be a lot more ambiguous than words, so it is always good to make your feelings clear, especially when they are positive ones. 😉 I would add that, in my humble opinion, Catra never really understood that Adora had left the Horde and not her: while Adora seemed fairly convinced she could persuade Catra to leave the Horde with her, it seemed to Catra like she just didn't care. Adora risking her life to save her was not enough to instantly erase years of feeling betrayed and abandoned.
@@NadCAtarun agreed. Adora also kept trying 2 convince Catra by telling her the reasons she should leave rather than telling her y she WANTED Catra 2 come with her (tho Shadow Weaver DID play a part by constantly emphasising 2 them strength & duty while putting down showing sympathy or vulnerability, which in turn lead Adora’s inability 2 c others points of view, hence y she struggled so much 2 understand Catra’s feelings - made worse by Catra’s struggle 2 b open with them). If Adora had said stuff 2 her like. ‘There’s something better for us out there than this. If we do this together, we’ll be okay.’ Words like that, while not guaranteed 2 change anything would’ve impacted Catra more than just ‘Come with me. You don’t have to go back there, we can fix this.’ The fact that Adora chose 2 leave WITHOUT talking 2 Catra about it 1st (& I mean reeeaaallly talk - not just that 5 min miscommunicated conversation they had beforehand!) & said ‘I’m not going home Catra.’ were what set the ball rolling in terms of Catra feeling left behind. Even if I didn’t have abandonment issues like Catra, I would still initially have the same reservations about leaving EVERYTHING I knew behind (especially if I hadn’t SEEN evidence like Adora that there was something better 2 live 4) By all accounts Adora made the right choice by leaving. She just executed it H.O.R.R.I.B.L.Y. (not 2 mention she did Lonnie, Kyle & Rogelio even dirtier by leaving the rest of her team without a word!)
@@sparxstreak02 Excellent analysis. 🤗 I would add that Adora was utterly shocked to discover the Horde is evil... but Catra had known that all along. So she didn't have the "surprise" factor to push her to defect, the way Adora did.
@@NadCAtarun True that. Catra’s view of the world was negative from the get go however. She didn’t think the world outside the Horde was any better than the 1 she currently lived in. (I’m LOVING these back & forth discussions! 😁)
@@sparxstreak02 Good point. Not only did she not feel shocked to find out the Horde was bad like Adora did... she also did not get the shock of finding out the outside world is awesome like Adora did (the food, the horse, the flowers... Adora had a pretty fun day outside ;) )
I think this scene is a bit misunderstood. Catra is aware that Adora cares about her greatly and wants her to stay with her (she isnt blind to all the times Adora saved her), but to Catra this is just Adora being her usual kind and supportive self. They are childhood friends and that means a lot to both of them, but Catra has been aware of her romantic feelings for Adora for a while. On the other hand Adora has not properly shown to her that her feelings are also romantic, only that she saw her as her closest friend. Catra in this arc also thinks she is holding Adora back from doing what she wants, which may be becoming the hero, which would take Adora way from her forever. She even says "She chose Shadowweaver" again. Shadowweaver's solution of self-sacrifice is in direct contrast to what Catra wants from Adora... to be happy and together with her. What does Adora want? Catra asked her and Adora never gave her the answer she needed to hear. After all this time Adora still needed her as a "comrade/friend" who would stick with her until she could fulfill her 'wish' of saving everyone. Catra feels her love is selfish and possessive and would only get in the way, so she runs away again. I don't think from all we knew at this point that Catra was _entirely_ wrong. Adora herself didn't care what she wanted, she only strived to fulfill her purpose. Her love for Catra was the sole thing that was truly a "selfish" want she had and she hid it from everyone, including herself. It took Mara's pep talk, Shadowweaver sacrificing herself and Catra relentlessly sticking with her till the end for Adora to finally accept her one true want.
If Catra spent her whole life being abused, then I don't blame her for having trouble accepting that people can love her. That said, she really put Adora through the wringer
Considering the same scenes of Catra and Adora's past in the first season, it can be realistically concluded that she was psychologically abused. That sad. I hope they will be happy.
Girl literally screamed her lungs out calling for Catra all throughout the entirety of the series and didn't even think twice before jumping from a bridge inside an alien ship when she realised Catra was probably not going to survive that fall. When Catra said that line, I almost threw my TV on the wall. But, yeah, I can understand not only being oblivious to others' feelings and insecure about them, but also being traumatized of feeling left out. Still, Adora showed her yearning just as much as Catra did. They just had extremely different ways of doing it.
Exactly. And that constant misunderstanding was part of their problem. They were unable to understand what the other truly meant because they didn't express themselves in a way that the other could understand. That's something they had/will have to work on.
I believe Catra, Adora probably doesn’t want Catra so much that she’s willing to destroy the universe along with the fabric of reality and everyone in it just to be with Catra
Yo, I feel with Catra's low ass self-esteem, and not always realizing when people want you around, but THE SIGN IS SO CLEAR THAT SHE WANTS HER BACK, THAT IF IT WAS ANY BRIGHTER, IT'D BE THE LITERAL *_SUN_*
1. Catra: adora plz stay Adora: I gotta join the rebels 2. Catra: adora plz stay I got nightmares cuz of horde prime Adora: of course I'll stay 3. Adora: Catra plz stay I can't use the fail safe without you there Catra: it'll hurt too much 4. Catra: adora stay, don't die on me Adora: okay These girls have huge abandonment issues... But we already knew that
I've met people that don't believe their own worth and will never believe that anyone really cares for them and no matter what you say or do you will never convince them. Some people are just broken and no amount of love will ever fix them. :(
I think Catra just don't believed that Adora can be actually in love with her. She ( Adora) was thinking about them like friends because Adora is type of "I just need to help everyone, it doesn't matter what I actually feel or want, because if I don't, I will be nothing, who I am without She-ra? Nothing " - proof: she always needed to do everything on her own, she even call She-ra as "she/her" not "me/ I ". Catra just wanted to be with Adora in romantic/ or sexual way but didn't know if Adora is into her too in that way. When Catra gives Adora the sword, she really didn't do this because she likes Adora, she just wanted Adora to leave, cause she knows she will never be with her, so better if she's not around, maybe that's why she wanted to hurt her and finally became a villain "Adora is with me or she's nowhere near me, because I can't stand it anymore". Both have their own problems.
Catra:"Adora doesn't want me.. not like I want her" Adora: clearly states that she wants catra around Catra who has been physically and psychologically abused her whole life by being told no one wants her especially Adora: "did you hear something?"
"Adora doesn't want me... Not like I want her" I paused and rewind that over and over again and tried to read catra's emotion because I kept getting these gay vibes throughout the show and then she said that!! And is like "I'm I being delusional or is she being gay?"
Horde Prime: Destroying all opposition to Horde Prime will bring peace to the universe Me: Sure, that's technically true, I suppose Catra: Adora doesn't want me! Me: bitch you wrong
@@roborosvki7938 I strongly believe that Scorpia tried to use a phone by holding a stylus and tapping on the screen but she missed the like button because her claws were too big for her to see.
I see a lot of people "making fun" of Catra not realizing that Adora does in fact want her even though she nearly broke her legs for her but honestly I can totally see Catras perspective. They are always just quoting the "Adora doesn't want me" Part but forget the "not like I want her" one which in my opinion is the important one and changes the meaning of what Catra says. Like I guess when Catra says "Adora doesn't want me. Not like I want her" she means that Catra wants Adora in a romantic kind of way but Adora only wants her in a friendship way. I think she knows that Adora wants her in her life but either totally misinterpreted Adoras actions, didn't understand Adoras actions or just didnt want to believe that Adora likes her more than a friend.
So, imho, it's actually way worse then that. Recall the context around that statement. Adora's picked up the failsafe and signed on with a maybe-kamikaze mission with Shadow Weaver which besides pushing damn near every button Catra has it's a plan that doesn't actually need Catra. Bow and Glimmer tag along only to be left behind after Adora basically says she's going to die doing this. With that being the plan Catra's not needed to make the plan work, she's being asked to be a spectator to Adora either getting dead or having a Big Damn Hero moment. She doesn't want to be an enabler to Adora's Martyr complex and frankly I think that was the right call given easily available information. When Catra finds out that Prime is going to make Adora's plan more dangerous she immediately turns heel, recruits Shadow Weaver of all people to help and gets herself into a position to help Adora survive this damn thing. Where Catra might have screwed up, but mostly Adora did ( if she had the info the understand the importance ) was in separating Shadow Weaver's maybe-kamikaze mission from the whole 'Catra is a distraction' bit. Realizing that Catra was in fact the key to bringing She-Ra out and thus improving odds of survival definitely change the dynamic but I'm not sure anyone knew that and I'm sure Catra didn't know that that's what Adora thought. TL;DR The problem is Adora's Martyr complex and Catra can't fight that by just hanging around and saying good job as she marches off to maybe die.
catra: im depressed and i overtink you don't want me if adora had lisend to her this shit was a lot easyer but adora needs to jump of every object she sees to save catra

That scene where Adora shouts “CATRA” makes me tear up every time
Which one? Because Adora yells that more than once, and, thanks to her VA (Aimee Carrero), all of the times are capable of making one tear up.
@@elenasmcanonico3163 good point :) I was talking about the scene in the final season, when Catra decided to leave and Adora shouted her name alone in the forest

@@sauronelexterminador That's fine, I didn't know.
@@remwifeyy she was going to literally DESTROY THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE ro have Adora. If it isn't unhealthy then I don't know what is.
@@babybabybaby9201 no she wanted to destroy the universe because she had nothing lest and was abused and never knew love. She grew up in The horde and it was the only comfort she knew. She switched sides I the end because she noticed the gravity of the situation and realised there is love in the world and it is worth saving.
the whole “save the cat” episode was just adora realizing she’s in love with catra
I mean half of Catras lines were “HEY ADORA”
And Adora says Catra more than she says Bow, Glimmer, and Adora combined.
Catra: SheDOESN'T want me!
Adora: *Bassically risking her life for catra every time catra is in framework*

"Adora doesn't want me"
You are not the clown, you are the entire circus.
Bruh this video is underrated
Catra: Adora doesn't want me!
Adora: *Takes on the single most powerful army in the known universe, that holds almost every civilisation in it's grasp for THOUSANDS OF YEARS, just to bring her home.*
Catra: Adora dosen’t want me! Adora: risks the whole universe to save her
Yes, I want her that much
And Catra.
I-
How much do you want me-
Catra: *Adora doesn’t want me!*
That sounds a very heartbreaking moment the way she actually cares about.
When catra says”AdOrA dOsEn’T wAnT mE” I jumped off of my bed and I yelled and my mom think I was vrazy
Adora: *literally cannot think straight when around Catra*
Catra: "Nah I'm probably not that important to her."
I would add that, in my humble opinion, Catra never really understood that Adora had left the Horde and not her: while Adora seemed fairly convinced she could persuade Catra to leave the Horde with her, it seemed to Catra like she just didn't care.
If we do this together, we’ll be okay.’
Words like that, while not guaranteed 2 change anything would’ve impacted Catra more than just ‘Come with me. You don’t have to go back there, we can fix this.’
The fact that Adora chose 2 leave WITHOUT talking 2 Catra about it 1st (& I mean reeeaaallly talk - not just that 5 min miscommunicated conversation they had beforehand!) & said ‘I’m not going home Catra.’ were what set the ball rolling in terms of Catra feeling left behind.
Even if I didn’t have abandonment issues like Catra, I would still initially have the same reservations about leaving EVERYTHING I knew behind (especially if I hadn’t SEEN evidence like Adora that there was something better 2 live 4)
By all accounts Adora made the right choice by leaving. She just executed it H.O.R.R.I.B.L.Y. (not 2 mention she did Lonnie, Kyle & Rogelio even dirtier by leaving the rest of her team without a word!)
@@sparxstreak02 Excellent analysis. 🤗
I would add that Adora was utterly shocked to discover the Horde is evil... but Catra had known that all along.
Can we just agree to catra being her most said word
Godd you don't how happy I'm to find a reasonable take on this scene after seeing the dumb one's.
@@fstormsso many dumb ones. It’s like.. emotionally complexity is only allowed to male characters

And when Catra cuts open a door and Adora blushes I-,,,,
If Catra spent her whole life being abused, then I don't blame her for having trouble accepting that people can love her.
That said, she really put Adora through the wringer
Considering the same scenes of Catra and Adora's past in the first season, it can be realistically concluded that she was psychologically abused. That sad. I hope they will be happy.
Adora: "Catra please, stay. I need you."
Catra two minutes later. "aDoRA DoeSn'T wAnt mE!"
The important part is "not like I want her". Catra probably thinks Adora just wants to be friends
@@cyberink7093 true

2. Catra: adora plz stay I got nightmares cuz of horde prime
Adora: of course I'll stay
3. Adora: Catra plz stay I can't use the fail safe without you there
Catra: it'll hurt too much
4. Catra: adora stay, don't die on me
Adora: okay
These girls have huge abandonment issues... But we already knew that
Adora always loved Catra, but she needed time and a world destroying threat for her to see she is IN LOVE with her.
Catra:"Adora doesn't want me.. not like I want her"
Adora: clearly states that she wants catra around
Catra who has been physically and psychologically abused her whole life by being told no one wants her especially Adora: "did you hear something?"

Catra: adora doesn't want me
Adora: jumps off bridge for her.
YES, WTF--
LMAOO ADORA BLUSHING AT THE HAND HOLDING I MADE THAT HAPPEN
TL;DR The problem is Adora's Martyr complex and Catra can't fight that by just hanging around and saying good job as she marches off to maybe die.

well to be fair adora only wants catra when catra is right in front of her. While catra wanted adora the entire time they were apart. It was extremely unhealthy both catra's obsession and adora's "out of sight out of mind" mentality. It didnt become a more healthy i guess thing until season 5 and even then it wasnt until the last few episodes that adora realized she wanted catra even when she wasnt around. I know im taking the joke too seriously but everyone always gives catra shit about this and the "you left me" thing. Adora wasnt going to go back for catra even when bow and glimmer let her go.
