Richie Sambora, one of the most underated guitar players of the world.
Huge Bon Jovi fan... Richie was my fave..he walked away for his reasons just like the incomparable Steve Perry walked from journey...no judgement folks.. these passionate incredible musicians had their reasons & should be permitted to make their own decisions. Don't judge anyone til you wear their shoes.🦩🦩☘️👻
Pretty clear where the real musical talent of the BJ machine is. Richie is a huge loss and the band has never been the same. since he left.

If Jon hadn't raved about the "What About Now" album, maybe Richie would still be in Bon Jovi today. Richie doesn't play some passages on it (he wrote them, but he doesn't play them on the album, he couldn't) and then when he heard the recording, he said it didn't sound like Bon Jovi and quit after 2 concerts in Cleveland

Bon Jovi would have never had succeeded without Richie in the band…. Jon was just the showman who knew how to handle a crowd,,, Richie was the true musician and vocalist all the way around and could have spun circles around jon anyday of the week in the music department…..Richie was the main reason I always went to see Bon Jovi back in the day Richie was and still is a beast on guitar…..
God gave to each a talent both have their own but the two together were special now it’s torn He could sing on with Bon Jovi He let him but wasn’t enough Bon Jovi will make it on his Gid will bless him wait and see I love his voice his personality I love Richies guitar playing his singing but he needs Jovi’s voice to back him the two had it all I’ve followed them for years love Bon Jovi love Richie but Bon Jovi has my heart along with band hope they don’t let this split get to them cause they have fans true fans

Same. Startet playing guitar when I was 16 years old. Long long time ago. Without Richie Bon Jovi is not the band I loved my whole life.
Although I play the guitar because of Richie I never played at least one Bon Jovi song except "Wanted dead or alive". ^^

Richie is a iconic guitarist and voalist. I often wonder what he would have done had he went solo instead of with Bon Jovi.
He did go solo...had many albums, but couldn't live up to the phenomenal power of Bon Jovi, so unfortunately he basically flopped. Rejoined Bon Jovi, and left again. Recently said he wanted to get back on the road with Bon Jovi. Hopefully he does 🙏

It certainly wasn't his best moment, his voice clearly says that, but though this isn't his best performance, he really leaves his soul on that stage! It's there to see, he sings with passion, he feels the lyrics and he tries hard to do his best... No man can say so much through his talent like Richie does.
If he sang this when he did the Stranger in the Town album, he would have nailed this song. The passion is there, the hoarse voice is shadowing this man's true talent, for those that never heard him before. I always thought Richie is his prime, was better than Jon by a long shot. Listen to Stranger in this Town!

He has many attributes, but he has put in too many years, he's not a quitter and sometimes we need to learn when to. Richie went out on a limb not knowing where he'd go and he is now going his way, and I am happy for him. But no matter what, it was JBJ band that made them all millionaires so they all had backing when they went out on their own.
