- If you liked my friend Hy's immaculate 1993 Accord SE recently, you'll love this one too. I doubt you have ever seen (or will ever see again) an Accord EX quite this clean at 28 years old and 136,000 miles. Owned by my friend Jeff, I wanted to showcase it for my viewers. For more, see Drive to Five: drivetofive.com/2018/07/07/in...

These Accords are probably the best cars ever made.
Indestructible for sure!
anfahrt I agree
I have had 3 and i should have kept all of them.
I got one it's a 92 Accord LX, Sedan with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission. I'm scraping it because the floor panel, is rusted out and it's not worth it fixing it the Rear fender well, is also rusted out as well and the bottom part of the doors, is rusted also it's been sitting since September 2010, so I'm not gonna bother to spend any money on it. But I am taking all the parts out for a Manual swap in case I decide I want to get another one in the future it will be a 91 EX model, and if it's Automatic at least I'll have the Manual shifter linkage, Manual pedals assembly, Manual center console, and Manual clutcher Gauges. They're truly build to last forever I used to have a 91 LX I regretted scraping it
100% Agree
This is my absolutely favorite bodystyle of Accord.
Definitely
That car belongs in a museum!
They should make a Honda museum
There already is a Honda Museum
p
I have one with 50k miles from 1991 accord lx factory red
Unbelievably well maintained. This 1990 Accord was perhaps best looking Accord of all times.
Definitely one of the best in all the Accord's generations. They really got it right with this one.
While the fourth gen in the video is textbook Honda design and well engineered, the best Accord IMHO is the third gen.
u think so, i think all accords look great, but u are right this design got me hooked on accords
Real glass headlights too
And boy they can run.
Stock never goes out of style
Honestly I want to bring stock back
It’s not hard to tell when someone has clearly taken extraordinary care of their vehicle
The thing that gets me about this car is - it's an Accord. An everyday midsize sedan that was cranked out with thousands of production volume. Yet, it was preserved like a rare exotic. And that's what makes it special.
Tyson Hugie Your friends parents must be really ocd and rich.
Lol.
@@TysonHugie Definitely. Love seeing people take pride in their vehicles. I love my 1999 corolla. The reliability of Hondas and Toyotas of the 90s is unbeatable.

I keep my 2008 Accord in tip top shape, but this one looks brand new! Wow!!
It really is!
If they re-released these now, I would buy one tomorrow.
Katty Koo it would out last any new vehicle
That Accord has been really taken care of and looks phenomenal for a 1990 model. That would certainly turn my head if I saw it on the road.
BEAUTIFUL! One of my favorites body style Accords.... And yours is so MINT OMG!
Haha thanks, it's definitely one of the best kept still in existence! Thanks for watching.

Best Honda’s built was in the 90s in my opinion
You better believe that
Tone Cold amen!
same with their motorcycles, the engineering and build quality have never been matched.
Yes, the 90’s Honda’s were their Golden Years! I Love the Acura Legends, Integra’s and Honda Accords, Civics of that era.
Don’t think anyone with half a brain would disagree with that
I had a 90 Accord EX-R in metallic charcoal, bought new, for 15 years. I can vouch that what you have in your hands is in pretty much brand new condition. Insane. I've owned nicer Japanese and German cars since, but this Honda is still the best car I ever owned. I'm a bit teary watching this! And I love that it even has the original brochure! I remember that one.
53 dislikes are jealous haters. Car is a gem and deserves to be kept like this forever. I would clear wrap it to protect that perfect paint. In the future I'm going to make mine near perfect condition. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I still have the color brochure. I love the way the A pillar connects to the door and fender. This was designed when Honda was under Soichiro Honda leadership. This was also when they splurged on little details like having the trunk carpet match the cabin color.
Beautiful! My favorite body style Accord.
Classic this was the "honda" back in the day. Was very popular. A favorite
Awesome car and meticulously maintained. Got me all tingly in parts..lol. I appreciate people who love and care for their cars. All STOCK BABY!
Yeah exactly! Hard to believe how rare it is to see a 100% stock Accord these days. This one just needs the OEM audio head unit put back in it to be fully showroom stock.
I have a 2000 V6 Accord LX 324,000 miles runs better than my 2011 Ford Edge
My God the nostalgia, I wish I could see this car and appreciate how clean it is
It belongs to a collector in Michigan now
When a vehicle never sees winter, an automatic car wash and is garaged, it will stay nice like this.
Definitely
Exceptionally well maintained gen 4 Accord. I had a 1990 EX in pewter grey pearl 5-speed manual that I bought new on July 26, 1990. After 285000 miles and 21 years I finally had to give it up-it hadn't been my daily driver since 1998. Puts a smile to my face seeing a stock vehicle in such great shape. Thanks for sharing!
this car needs to be put in a car club omg it is precious
It's amazing to see one as if I'm watching and old Motorweek episode! Literally looks brand new! Just like many, I love seeing preserved, clean 80s-90s Japanese cars because of their simplicity and good looks. Also, you just don't see them anymore because of all the modern variety. I would love to drive one if I could just for the experience. I ran into a 1991 Accord sometime last year at my Publix that was also in decent shape. It was metallic silver with a maroon velour interior. No rust and garage kept. It was her Florida car since she was a snowbird and had two houses. Of course it was an older lady that kept it since new. Being a car guy, I of course had a nice long conversation about it and appreciated the fact that she's maintaining and preserving it.
That's awesome. I love seeing well preserved older cars, and I definitely enjoyed lots of Motorweek as a kid. Haha. Thanks for watching!
I have never been a fan of Honda's but for its age it looks brand new. I remember when this style came out my grandmother's neighbor always brought Accords.
Fantastic! I had a 1993 Accord EX and it was a great car. I now have a 2002 Accord.
Sounds like you have good taste in cars!
That's amazing! I'm impressed and I love seeing people taking such good care of their Hondas. This looks right off the showroom floor. This will be a million mile + Accord in a few years, still looking and running like new, I hope.
Favourite Accord! Car looks so clean I’d love to buy it.
I had a white on burgundy EX-R
It seems a lot of people have memories of these cars. It is a blast from the past.
I cannot get over the fact of how beautiful that car looks straight out of the factory in 1990, great video 👍
It’s always great seeing well maintained older vehicles. Great vid!
Glad to see someone has a small Honda collection in AZ, id love to check it out sometime!
Message me, would love to have you stop by!
VTEC alley is there I thought
You guys out west are lucky with the no rust its crazy to see a car this old that clean
Yes I have rust right below the gas tank just like all others on the east coast but I Still love my Honda itsa gold 93 accord SE with 197k n it runs better than my 2010 accord with only 70k so I sold that 1!! N them new 1's have an excessive oil consumption issue!!??
Beautiful car, and you have an amazing collection of classic Acuras in your garage. I'm jealous.
Thank you!
Omg, every time I see that model 1990 Cordy I think back and see how well and lovely reliable car did give me the time I had it. I miss it. I really doo!!!
They definitely last forever!
@@TysonHugie they really doo, even tho when you hear the tranny doing sounding like if you would have a mini turbo. But that tranny it's doing it's 100% mission to accomplish you where ever you want to goo!!!🙄😁
i still remember watching this video, that color on a 90s Honda Accord looks very cool
It is a really sweet color!
Man this brings back memories! In December of '89, I purchased a brand new 1990 Honda Accord EX Sedan with a 5-spd manual transmission. It was green, identical to the one pictured in the brochure at 6:09. I remember getting many compliments on the car. People loved the color, although I can't remember the actual name of that particular green. Have driven nothing but Hondas and Acuras since. Just purchased my 8th Acura on 06/23/18, a Certified Pre-Owned 2016 Acura TLX Advance in Slate Silver metallic. Loving it so far.
Congrats on your TLX Advance! What ever became of your 1990 Accord EX? I wonder where it is today.
Was it Seafrost Green?
This 1990 brochure says the green in 1990 was called Hampshire Green Metallic and it was only offered on the EX trim level, and with the ivory interior. So that might have been it! Interestingly enough - the Accord shared a green with my Acura Vigor in later years (Arcadia Green). It's more of a teal.
This car is super gorgeous!!!
Thanks, yes it is!
Wow. That is my favorite generation Accord (I owned a 1988, and now drive a 2007). This is the nicest, most well taken care of example I have ever seen. Very nice!!
A time capsule to the early nineties, this looks fresh off the showroom floor.
Wow, that car is incredible. I have always loved the CB-7 Accords, and that red is especially beautiful. It's nice to see that someone really cares for that old Accord. It must be really cool to live in the southwest; here in the northeast, most cars by that age have acquired some sort of rust issue.
Yeah I agree, its awesome to see such a clean survivor that has been well maintained its whole life!
Unreal. Never seen one this nice. Its spectacular...
Thank you!
*HOLY GRAIL OF CB7* (1990-1993 Honda Accord)
I worked at a Honda store during the time these were sold new and indeed they are really amazing vehicles you can see that Soichiro Honda had his hand directly involved in the creation of this model. We miss you Mr. Honda!
Thanks for watching!
Love it.. I love when I see old Hondas in this good of condition. I live in the North East so not much lasts around here unless NOT winter driven. Such a beauty!!!
Agreed, this one definitely has never seen a snowflake in its life.
So sad to see these beauty done in by road salt. Hondas are just hitting puberty at 150k but the salt mix on the road destroys the metal
I had this exact car and color, mine had the manual transmission and came with a tape deck with six or eight presets on it. Had the same wheels, no stick on wood panels inside or the rear spoiler, but man does it bring back memories. I swear the car was so gorgeous with that color and wheels, that a dozen friends and family bought accords after seeing mine.
Michael Fitzgerald I owned the same in coupe. Also 5 speed. manual transmission. My my 16 yr old daughter inherited it as her first car, drove it for three years, then my son had it when he turned 16. Finally sold it at 300k for &1000. Seriously. PS. 2 teenagers first cars and the clutch was original and still had room for adjustment.
should of kept it!!

Denis DeFrancesco my ole honda is on its 7th family member plus a friend owned it for a minute your statement is true, they will run forever if cared for!!!
great video! Wow it was a groundbreaking car when it was new, and stays strikingly beautiful today; the design, and in this case the condition of this particular car. This car was such a homerun when it came out. I really wanted one. Amazing how it was just as beautifully engineered inside (under the hood, etc.) as it was outside (appearance, feel, etc.). This owner picked the best car of 1990 and took the best care of it. Everything is impressive here!
Amazing, almost cried🥲 Love clean accords.
Me too!
That is a nice looking accord.
It really is - I am so surprised how well it's been maintained since new. Especially with all those records.
My first car was a 1990 Honda accord. I felt in love with this car because its so smooth to drive and has power on that gas peddal. 2 years a go i was looking on the internet when i saw a 1990 honda Accord EX exactly like the one i got for my graduation. I hsd to buy it for $1,200 dollars this car had only one owner who really took good care of this car. I am very happy to own the best car ever made...I AM A HONDA GUY!!
That awesome. I am too. Thanks for watching.
This looks amazing, my grandmother had one in the 90s this is Nostalgia

That's awesome, keep on rolling!
Me too, mine is 1997 Accord, 220k miles and still runing on standard engine!

I bought a 1990 Accord Ex as soon as they came out. It was a brand new body and everyone stopped me to ask about the car. Nice car and good memories.
I have a 1991 Accord SE and has 40K miles on it! Perfect condition like mint! Brittany Blue with tan leather interior. Brought it new!
That's awesome. Any videos?

dont be selling it anyway! no car would be as good as the accord.
I'll give you $25,000 for it
Nice. I have seen this guy drive one of the same Honda Accord for a 1,000,000 miles. His name is one million mile Joe and he has a 1990 Honda Accord as well. They were extremely well made. Hard to find a example with the same condition like yours.
You're absolutely right - these are bulletproof cars. Unfortunately Million Mile Joe passed away awhile back. I'm not sure what ended up happening with his Accord but I hope someone is taking good care of it.
@@TysonHugie wow I am so sorry to her that. He was so happy and proud of his 1990 Honda Accord. They definitely don't make them like they use to
Love to see people taking care of their cars like this.
Agreed!
I look at the new Accords now and I could just cry when I think of this beauty.
The design has definitely aged well over the last few decades.
Wow! Clean stupid clean! To bad it's auto but still immaculate! Stock Honda's/Acura's are gonna be super rare to find in the future. I'm with you on that! I love seeing clean stock Japanese 80's,90's cars!!👊✌but i also love custom modified j-tin as well!😉
Definitely. I just love 80s-90s Japanese stuff of any kind, but when I see something special like this one it makes me happy. I have a whole list of cars on my "want to own" list, haha.

$28K spent on maintenance for 130K miles! That’s equivalent to $1K per year which doesn’t add up. Regardless, beautiful car.
I'll send you the Excel spreadsheet if you want proof.
Dealer washed and waxed oil change tune up tires alignment leather care. I can see 1k a year easy.
Tyson Hugie No need, that is just quite a bit a year to maintain a Honda. Based on mileage, that is 4800 miles a year. One or two oil changes and a tire rotation is really all it would need maintenance wise. Even if it was professionally detailed a couple times a year, that's $300-400 annually at most. So I'm just curious what the big dollar items are which net the $28K.
@@ctdrone timing belt and tires. Water and oil pump at time of timing belt probably.
Modified 504 The 2.2 SOHC called for the timing belt and water pump, every 90K, or 72months. So there should be 4 TB/WP changes on that accord based on the monthly schedule. These services, on average, cost $500-800. So even at $1K a pop, that's only $4K of the 28K. I would expect in the AZ climate to change tires every 3 years or so, but with the low mileage, that is a guess too. So even if this car has seen 8 tire changes, that's on average $350 for four tires and an alignment. That's only $2800 of the $28K. Again, these are all guesstimates based on average costs and maintenance schedule intervals.
I would buy one of these in a heartbeat over anything comparable being made today. Digging the Legend coupe as well.
Seriously, they were extremely well built!
My friends mother in the UK had an Accord just like this (same colour and same wheels), the only difference was the leather interior and manual transmission. I really liked it! This one in the video is fantastic!
Thanks! It was a pretty sweet ride for sure.
This should be a classic and this year's cars with both money
Nice Accord, there is something about the simple shape, the nice detailing, the impeccable build quality, it makes most other 1989-1991ish family cars look really dated in comparison. This has just kind of a quiet, timeless, low key sort of look to it.
Buddy had one of these in high school, automatic sedan, maybe an LX or EX, I can't remember, had power windows, locks, etc. Even though it had a bunch of miles on it and the paint was falling off it, what impressed me is that it still drove like a new car, handling was great, steering was very tight, felt light, tossable. My 3.8 V6 Buick Regal was faster but drove like a pig compared to the Honda.
Totally agree. I miss that simplicity.
he must've had the LX cause anybody that own one of these or knew somebody that had one of these 90-91 EX's had that Sports mode and lock up torque converter along with that engine you would'nt of had no chance, obviously it wasn't tune properly, but in that car's prime it would've drugged you, those cars was capable of reaching 140 mph. i had many looking at the back end of my 1991 Accord Ex sedan aka "black stallion"
That Accord is beautiful. My first car was a 1991 Honda Accord SE.
Thanks, it sure is!
I had a 1990 Maxima, very similar rims & rear spoiler just like this as well as similar square/boxy design... really reminds me of it. The 90s cars were truly exceptional and built to last. Thank you for this video! I really enjoyed it
Thank you - glad you enjoyed the video!
I also love older cars
Me too :)
"the club" inside is priceless🤣🤣
I know. The owner left me that and I can't even figure out how to operate the damn thing.
First car was a 1990 Accord EX, manual. Was originally my moms.
Every once in awhile, I’ll STILL dream about that car. Haven’t seen it since January 2001. I wish i had just put money into whatever needed worked on and kept it. Still miss that thing
There's still a chance for you to buy another one!
@@TysonHugie - unfortunately this one's an automatic. It'd HAVE to be a manual...lol
Tyson. I usually do not comment on vids like yours based on your content. However, your Honda Accord is amazing. I can relate, as I proudly own a 2003 Lincoln Town Car in white diamond pearl paint over tan leather. 96,000 miles. Thanks for letting me get my approval out.
still see them in 2019
Totally, they are bulletproof!
Mint! Better than my cb7
Seeing your Legend really makes me miss mine.
Maybe you can get another one
I bought my wife the same model same year grey in color, one of the greatest cars ever created
Awesome!
🤔These are the best Accords ever especially if it’s a EX Manuel transmission. I had a 92 Black Accord Coupe 5sp in high school, 1997 was the year with 80k, I so wish I kept it 😤. Anyway this one here is flawless 😬
Agreed, the only thing that would make this car absolute perfection would be a stick shift!
Tahvyy- I too had a 1990 Accord Dx coupe 5 speed manual my junior and senior year in high school. Loved that thing and miss it to this day . I've since moved on to late model American muscle (I have a 2016 corvette Z06 manual, a 2018 Camaro Zl1 6 speed manual, and a 2016 Cadillac ctsv 8 spd auto. I prefer the more simple times tbh
Agreed. I had a 93 accord ex coupe stick shift.
@@dabeast1246 Same. 93 Accord EX coupe 5 speed in Rosewood Brown Metallic. One of the best cars I've ever owned.
I just bought a 1991 Accord coupe garage kept ex, manual 143k for $1300 burgandy interior, I feel like I won the lottery and humbled.
Wow , *You remind me of my Childhood, My dad had it too 1990 Black color* , Thumbs Up if you had one of these....
The wife and I used to own a 1990 white accord ex. She cried when we finally gave it up.
Great cars
I drove one of these back in the day. It was a fantastic car and it began my love of Hondas.
Flawless!!!!
How in the world can anyone take this good care of a car? How do you manage to not get dents and dings in the body in over 135K miles!?
Trance88 Yeah, cause other drivers can be douchebags with no regard to other's property in parking lots. So to go door dingless is hard.
Easy, you don't park near anyone and look where shopping carts are etc. Mine has no dents on the entire body either.
My explorer has over 228,000 and not a scratch or dent anywhere. It has a lot to do with original paint quality. All cars get hit with road debris but a quality paint will repel scratches and dings from road debris thrown from other vehicles.
Trance88 body work and repaint
Thanks for sharing this vehicle. It bring back memory of my 1990 Accord LX build in Japan. I had to sell it with 240K miles on it. One thing I missed is the slanted front windshield that gave you this view while driving.
I had a 1990 Accord EX in the 90’s and this is a perfect example of an unscathed stunning example. Love this review. 😎
I miss these simple and clean styled Accords. They have become to big, expensive , and gaudy. I also like the 1986-89 generation with the pop up headlights.
There was definitely a nice simplicity with these cars.
There's a blue/blue 5-speed '86 on my local Offerup right now with 47K. And it looks it.
Amazing! Props to the owner for taking such meticulous care of the car! I wonder if the dealer can even service the car that old properly anymore? My independent mechanic will work with OEM parts for my older Acura.
Well, there's one thing to research. The car's current oil change was actually 3 years ago but only about 1,000 miles ago I think. So it's time to get it done right away, just for the sake of time. I am not sure on parts availability. I would imagine for a car that was produced in this volume there are parts somewhat readily available, whereas for cars like the Acura Legend or Vigor there are a lot more challenges with discontinued items.
True, Accords are common cars, so probably parts are still available, even from junk yards.
When it comes to oil changes time is as critical as mileage...
I better encourage Jeff to get it done soon. Question for you: 5W20 or 5W30? I saw both called out in the records.
I've always used 5W30 since new...
Amazingly beautiful. I had nine 92 93 accords .I love these cars. Till last year I had a white Honda accord EX. All original. These are legendry cars. Burgundy with alloy wheels, Oh My God. Its a beauty. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
You bet. Glad I could bring back some memories.
Made respect on your garage ! Instant like, love seeing older cars well maintained.
Hell no that's from the 90s.... lol Honda just released this car..... this is super nice

Gorgeous color, and I loved those as a kid. Still looks good.
How is this even possible?? 136,000 miles and 30 years but still not even 1 single scratch??? It is impossible to believe.
It's for real.
The owner must live in the Southwest. Just can't almost impossible to keep a car that clean in other parts of the US
Yes it's here in Phoenix.
The Pacific Northwest is quite kind. We have our share of rain, but if a car is garaged it is of little consequence as long as you attend to keeping the rear wheelwells free from dirt buildup, which I consider proper maintenance anyway. Little snow and no salt. Summers are warm and sunny but with none of the blazing heat/UV that destroys anything and everything to which it is exposed. I see at least one every day here, often several.
best Honda's ever made …..I own a 93 ex 5 speed, with 250,00 miles still running strong
That's awesome, keep on rolling.
Absolutely AMAZING! My first car was a 1990 Accord DX, blue with black bumpers....it was so stripped down, it didn’t even have the Passenger side mirror! Kudos to your buddy for preserving it! Definitely one of the best designs from the Accord lineup! Thanks for sharing Tyson!
You bet! I'm so glad there are people out there who can appreciate these cars as much as I do. Some car fanatics post videos of exotic supercars and highly modified customs... I'm over here geeking out at a pristine, stock, cookie cutter midsize sedan haha. Thanks for watching.
Tyson, I’ve been watching your videos for years! It all started when I saw you on I-15, in Salt Lake City in your Legend(years ago). I appreciate your love for stock! Love your vids man! Definitely want to see your collection up close some day.
Wow, what! I can't believe I was spotted. Did we meet in person yet? Haha. Yes I used to drive my Legend through Salt Lake all the time. In fact a good chunk of its 561k miles were from weekend trips between Logan and St. George because I spent 2 years in northern Utah for school. Small world. My parents owned an Accord Sedan of the same year, trim level, and color. Very fond memories. It ended up in a nasty wreck with an early northstar powered Cadillac which totaled both cars. I was about 8 years when it happened. True bummer.
