- In this video we are working on the John Deere 450 again. The front idler pulley outside bushing and housing have failed. We are breaking the track chain loose and removing the old idler, installing new wear pads, installing a new idler assembly. We also reinstalled the chain but my camera battery died.

One bad thing about crawlers is they can be a high maintance piece of equipment. good video
Yes sir we don't use it that much but it great to when you need it. There is a lot more maintenance than tires for sure have a good one!
@@mtrunk8570 BUT when you get caught up it ain't that bad.
Had one just like it. They are so dependable, (I'm talking 450C, 450B has dry brake clutches, which means that the brakes are always out on it) people would not keep them up like they should...
I had a mechanic that use to work on Tanks when he was in the military. Cool stories. If I remember correctly they had 3 people doing a track job. That master link loos like a giant bicycle chain. I was always fascinated by tracks vehicles. Nice share my friend. Have a good week.
I could only imagine the stories thanks so much for your visit and support!
I get tired watching you work my friend! Watching and Supporting - LIKING another video!
Thanks I know you do your share as well!
Just found this series. Nice job on the pin pusher. Welded master pin is pretty common( I've rebuilt several dozers and loaders). Next time just gouge the weld with a torch and pin can be removed.
Thanks I guess that never crossed our mind thanks for the tip and comment.
@@mtrunk8570 no worries. First one I came across I spent a while cussin and thinkin: then gouged the weld. Surprisingly easy. 9 times out of 10 when you see that the original master link was heated to release the pin and hole got wollered out a bit when pin was driven out so pin was welded in(hopefully just on the outside of the link) to keep it in place in the sloppy hole which is why it pops out easy when you gouge out the weld.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching!
Home engineering at its best!
Some time you just have to make it happen.
WOW, thank you for your video, I am learning more every time I see one
Thanks for your comment David.

It was a great feeling after all that work!
Thanks for sharing this video, great 👍🏻 job! Greetings from your new friend here in France
Thanks so much for your comment and stay warm!
Might s well get a seal for the slack adjuster while you're right there but now it's running already.
the next time you want to push out track pins use heat
Torch would have helped for sure.
Those are complecated work and really hard one.
Thanks so much.
Excellent job guys! I like your pin press idea. Did you say what year your 450 was?
Sir by any chance fo you have a video on how to compress the spring for the track adjusting
Well done with little modification after getting the Track separated...No way that job gets done without all the Xtra heavy equipment!!
Yes sir a lot of work went into this project thanks for your comment!
tks for sharing, so good job
Good work my friend.
Thanks
Great work!! 👏
Thanks
I can't understand why all these track videos don't break the track at the rear sprocket. Als, makes reinstalling the master pin easy peasy.
not much room to work back there but would be nice if the chain was stabilized.
I bet that would be a very expensive repair if you guys didn't have all that heavy lifting equipment handy so you could do it yourselves!
Yes we've done that before you get a little for a lot thanks for your comment!
so nice can we be friend
looks quite some job there mate
