I don't believe all cops are bad and evil. I also believe that cops are like teachers, underpaid. But cops get to see the ugly in the world. The shooting, robberies and a whole bunch of crime scenes after crime scene. PTSD is gone for years and years ignored. If you are dealing with it, then your career is over. Like the military, it is not allowed. I can't imagine the level of emotional issues some have. They should be seen twice a month to deal with the ugly they see. Maybe they will have better control.

With the guns that I owned and the ones my brother left behind when he died I had over 30 guns. A part of this story I see as an excellent reason why departments should not have unmarked patrol/police vehicles. Not only does the use of unmarked police vehicles make it easier for creeps to impersonate legitimate law enforcement, but it makes it easier for legitimate cops to behave in corrupt even criminal behaviour.
When law enforcement makes claims of their primary concern to be to ‘Serve & Protect’, then why is stealth utilized?
When a marked patrol car in a neighbourhood indicates an established police presence, scaring criminals away. Instead the cops want to make the arrests (understandably), but then the primary concern is REVENUE.
*years back as a child I was taught that if I was ever lost or in trouble to ‘find a policeman, he’d help.’ Back then police vehicles were black and whites with a easily distinguishable red light on the roof. But now? How would a child in need of help find a police officer?
**and I do not consider ‘ghost letters’ a ‘clearly marked’ patrol vehicle. I saw 1 police SUV where you could not read the letters on the all black SUV until you stood 5’ away perfectly in line with the rear bumper, move 1’ and the letters disappeared. How does that help my wife recognize that the vehicle pulling her over is a legitimate police vehicle?
Making it dangerous for the public all because departments prefer stealth to professionalism!
Only purpose for an unmarked police vehicle is surveillance. But that vehicle should never be used when engaging the public.

GOOGLE missing persons in the emerald triangle or Humboldt county or Mendocino county. Majority is weed related.
