  • I bought three different POANG armchairs from IKEA. I bought the cheapest one, another one in the medium price range, and the most expensive one. I wanted to see if it's worth spending more for the increase in comfortability. In this review I will be taking a look at what I liked about these IKEA armchairs and any problems that caught my attention. All of these IKEA armchairs were comfortable but one of these stood out the most.

    I currently own a poang with 2 cushions (the cheapest cushion and the hillared cushion). I only bought the cheapest cushion after my initial purchase due to the style. I love the simplicity and just the overall look of it. But just a warning...the cheap version will screw up your back if you're planning on sitting for more than 10 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend the hillared cushion if you're planning on sitting in this chair for long periods of time. It's really comfortable and your spine will thank you in the long run!

    I've had a Poäng chair for about 10 years, maybe a bit more. I bought the black-brown frame with the black leather cushions. The black cushions are no longer being made, but a dark brown is available. I didn't think the leather cushions were stiff. It's been very comfortable from the first day. I would like it to have more support, especially for the head. I often use an extra pillow for my head and sometimes my back.
    I also bought the matching footstool. It's very comfortable and I'm glad I have it, but it's sometimes a hassle to find a place for it when it needs to be out of the way. I wish IKEA had applied some of their famous ingenuity to making the footstool slide under the chair when not in use. (I'm thinking of hacking it myself.)

      ive seen images of people flipping the stool upside down and sliding it underneath the chair (could be from the front or back i dont remember). Try that.

    In one word… YES! The Pello and Poang are the comfiest chairs I have ever sat on. I used to think they were ugly until I sat in the Pello chair that my mum bought, and fell asleep! Me and my brother used to look forward to visiting mums to get comfy and snuggled in a blanket on that chair… now I’ve got my first Poang coming, £80 and free shipping, so worth it to me

    The dark brown with the blue Hillared cushion is by far the best combination in my opinion. So smart… shame they discontinued the dark brown I want it 😢

    I picked up a white leather Poang off letgo for $60. Cleaned the entire thing, cushion and wood with diluted Simple Green to get rid of any stains and sticky spots. Then Lexol on the cushion and Pledge on the wood. Great chair for $60!

      @@errorsofmodernism9715 Yes, but only after I took a dump in the chair and smeared it around with a rag. Why else would it smell like fecal matter?

    I bought the cheapest POANG. It looks nice, but I found it incredibly uncomfortable, It's not a leisure chair.

    On the cheaper cushion I still felt the bar in the back I went for the gray color with headrest and light colored frame(blue one in video). It's a great middle ground and imo the best cushion. Leather is nice but along with the extra price it's cold in winter sticky in summer and more maintenance. This material isn't the softest but seems super durable and it goes with alot of designs

    Este sillón es más cómodo que Pello? Compré Pello y como tu decías en la revisión comprobé que el asiento está muy bajo y eso me suponía esfuerzo para levantarme, aunque realmente estaba comodo sentado, pero no me ha gustado que quede tan bajo. Poang es mas alto? Me interesa saber si puedo sentarme y levantarme con facilidad. Quiero decir que me gusta mas la experiencia de estar sentado y no tumbado, com me pasa con Pello. Infelimente no puedo comprobarlo en una tienda fisica de Ikea, porque no tengo ninguna cercana. Buen video. Gracias.

    How's the seat attached to the frame? Is it a cloth or something? Durable?

    • @JL-bj1xs
      @JL-bj1xs Před 2 lety

      It's just simply placed onto the frame. But somehow really sturdy. Pretty much impossible to take off unless you flip the chair around or do it intentionally.

    So is the only real difference in the cushions and not the base of the chair? Do they all bounce the same ? I’m interested in this for my baby who likes to be bounced and not rocked like a traditional rocking chair.

    • @originalfurniturereviews2964
      @originalfurniturereviews2964  Před 3 lety +3

      Yeah, the frame of the POANG is the same for each price range. The difference is the stain and the veneer. The bounce is the same for each model, didn't really notice a difference.
