      Just to point out, saying "lawl Windblight easy therefore weakest canon" doesn't mean anything. There have been numerous times in a game that a boss can bring about the end of the world, but are laughably easy to fight gameplay wise. Actual story trumps gameplay mechanics. Canon-wise, each of the blights are fairly equal in strength as are the champions to each other.
      Also of note, each Blight was made to counter each of the champions, Windblight was no different.

    • @Marnige
      @Marnige Před 3 lety +91

      @@IamCanadian3333 agreed. Plus a reason why windblight was easy was because link have the ability to slow down time by aiming in the air.

      He had skills of range and flight his opposite would have a tank like windblight
      You can also see this with the others
      mipha was a support character that aslos can use water as a defence and offence use
      Her opposite would have dps and ice
      Urbosa only loss because thunderblight had the power to be absorb lighting and use for speed

      Nope, revali was the best marksman no doubt abt it but the problem was the blights was made to counter every champion. Windblight manipulates wind which is why revali didn't even land a shot. Close combat is a big no no for revali if it's windblight. No matter how skillful his aim was, windblights uses the wind to stop the arrows.

  • @shockwave3864

    Personally, I’m gonna say link would’ve won that fight.
    Even with the strategical and situational advantage Revali had, he still managed to bring it to such an incredible close standoff.
    Link managed to correct his error after revali had baited his attack through the smoke in an insanely short amount of time, and he even parried his arrow shot at point blank. You can tell he did because of the metal clanging noise. Revali also had a *fully drawn bow*, and it would be literally *impossible* to aim and shoot the arrow in that trajectory and that slow speed in that amount of time. Link also gained a very advantageous position against him after blocking the arrow. Seeing as revali was upsidown during the shot that was parried, all link had to do was slash again and revali would’ve died. Link clearly can slash fast enough to achieve that and can react fast enough as well. Link is the more skilled of the two by FAR when it comes to close combat, so revali would’ve died for sure. Link definitely had that in the bag, but Zelda stopped the fight.

      Link certainly has faster reaction speed, as Revali couldn’t dodge Windblight Ganon’s lasers and Link does that for breakfast. However, that swing where Link parries the arrow wouldn’t have hit Revali. You can see how far away they are in the shot just before Revali fires and how he moves away from Link as he lands faster than Link’s sword actually swings if you slow the footage down. From the looks of it, while Link does have faster reaction speed, Revali actually moves faster. And while Link would certainly win a melee fight due to this also because of armour and specialty in melee weapons, Revali could just have kept raining down bomb arrows after disarming Link’s shield. Also that a sword won’t block a concussive blast like it would a solid arrow

    People saying Revali could have beaten Link, despite clearly a clank being heard, arrow projectile of falling down couldn't happen if shot in a different direction with a fully pulled bow, and Link canonically beat WindBlight Ganon, whereas it destroyed Revali to oblivion, so Link wins TBH. Moreover, it was Revali who had the advantage of Home Ground, starting the fight without any fair challenge to duel, and if Revali fanboys can't accept that Link Won, atleast accept that Revali was in a better position during the fight and because it is still so close(for some people) to become a debate of who won, I can easily give it to Link even for a draw against such an unfavorable surprise start to the fight.

      I have gone over this topic many times to all sorts of people, but I've concluded that Revali begrudges Link because he thinks he is privileged. This is the semi-in depth version:
      If you read his Diary and look at the way Hylians have treated others such as the Gerudo in history- Most Hylians are snobbish and self-centred, I'm sure the King's behaviour only proved his notions about Hylians too tbh. Revali thinks Link didn't work for what he has and got his role just because he was a Hylian. In the storyline, you can see Revali worked his aŝs off to become the best Warrior for his clan, to the point where he is in pain from pushing himself- Link on the other hand did train and go through pain, both emotionally and mentally, of course, but had talent from the get-go and fought off Swordmasters by the time he was 10. In the start, Revali wanted to showcase his skills and get respect and recognition from Link, (because even if he would never admit it, that mattered to him-) But Link stood there in silence never smiling or speaking a word to him. In his Diary, you can see Revali translated that as Link being a snob himself and that he was too good to even dignify the conversation with a response. After that Link was on his shït-list basically. I can't fault Revali for his dislike of Hylians as they were very privileged and controlled most everything in Hyrule, but Revali's mistake was his fear and miscommunication along with making assumptions without trying to communicate and understand further. Revali and Link would have probably been best friends if they were able to overcome this, as they both understand pressure and loneliness and how it feels to be trapped in another's expectations. The only thing here is that Revali coped with his problems differently than Link (both coping mechanisms that ultimately weren't healthy.)
      Thank you for coming to my Ted talk, and if you couldn't tell, yes Revali is my favourite Champion.

      Yes but this scene was not played with the intention of being watched on slowmo speed. You can clearly hear the metal clanging sound, indicating that link parried the shot with the small width of the side of his sword. Why would you put extra work into making the arrow go to the sword and launch up, if it would be too hard for a human to process when watching it in normal speed anyway, because the action is already too fast? So it’s not unfortunate, link did parry it. He’s cool like that.

    Revali straight up could have killed Link here. He had his arrow pointed square at the back of Link's head before he even began to turn around, and well before he started to swing his sword. Revali was clearly holding back & could have killed Link if he wanted to. Only the Link fanboys somehow see this scene differently.
    Some ppl are even trying to say that he deflected the arrow with his sword but even if you slow the video way down, the arrow is never anywhere near Link's sword. I'm honestly not sure why the arrow does what it does at the end, kind of strange.
    That was one sweet ass parry when he came rushing out of the smoke & parried Link's sword & went straight into that arrow shot at the back of his head. Link was a straight up dead man at that point.

    • @josiahestremera851
      @josiahestremera851 Před 3 lety +14

      Link deflected the arrow. You, clearly, see the arrow leave Revali's bow at a downward trajectory, only to shoot straight up in the air after the, very clear, 'clang' of metal on metal is heard. As per your first point, Revali, clearly, underestimated the speed at which Link would be able to turn around, and react to his attack, indicated by his supreme confidence at the battle being over. If Link hadn't reacted in time, he would be dead. You have no proof, whatsoever, that Revali was, in any way, 'holding back'. That is, pure, speculation, and fanboyism on your part. Purely within the canon of 'Age of Calamity', Revali had to be saved from Windblight Ganon by Teba. By contrast, Link held off all four blights by himself, even being so comfortable as to be on the offensive at multiple points within the battle. If we include the greater canon, (meaning BoTW) Revali is killed by Windblight Ganon, which Link slays after a 100 year slumber. There is no question as to who the superior fighter is, both in this battle, and outside.

       Josiah Estremera I think if you see at around 1.33 with 0.25 speed , from link's position it seems like he wouldn't be able to catch up with the arrow. Although the arrow itself just fly in different direction than the bow in immediately after it was released... i don't know, i personally think that revali deliberately fired to the air after hearing zelda's voice. I think if they both give it they all link probably would win, but in this fight it seem like revali does have an upper hand.

What we CAN see, however, is the arrow leaving Revali's bow at a downward trajectory, only to shoot straight up, after an audible 'clang'. These are the facts: Revali's bow was pointed downward, the arrow was seen leaving at a downward trajectory, there was an audible 'clang' of metal on metal, (the only other metal between Link, and the arrow being Link's sword) and the arrow, immediately shot up. I think it's very clear that the arrow was deflected. The burden on proof is on those who believe it wasn't. How, then, did the arrow shoot straight up if Revali's bow was pointed down, why was there an audible 'clang'? To believe that Revali, purposely, 'missed', or that Link didn't, in fact, deflect the arrow is in spite of the facts. Note that only you, and skins4thewin are using terms like 'not sure', or 'don't know'. Your point of view carries uncertainty, and requires speculation. Considering they went to Rito village to recruit Rito's champion the moment the Rito showed hostility they should have either backed down or figured out a way of convincing them their weren't a threat. The fact Impa and Link (I blame Impa more since it was her idea) decided to push through and continue to attack them (at a moment they were vulnerable) completely justifies Revali's 'rudeness' towards Link (and even the others) throughout the rest of Age of Calamity.

They were all the way over at Lanayru Promenade at the time, and Revali had to fly across pretty much the entire map to reach Medoh. By the time he actually arrived, he would have been exhausted, not to mention the fact that the guardians turning against them would've caught them even *more* off guard - and who knows how many of them Revali would've had to fight off on his journey to get back to Medoh. Keep in mind that right up until it was far too late, it was always assumed that the guardians would be Link's personal escort army as he rushed the castle to take on Ganon - just as it went 10,000 years prior.
      So by the time Revali arrived, supplies would be low, he'd be tired, he was pretty unprepared.

      1: They were killing his people and invading his home town so his anger is completely justified, 2: Link would get cooked because Revali can shoot 13 targets in 3 seconds. 3: He has bomb arrows with a multi shot bow so he can hit a larger area. 4: Link can’t use bullet time because he needs some sort of height to activate it. 5: Revali is way too fast for Link

  • @the_great_tigorian_channel

    Lol, all these people arguing over a non canon alternate universe event. 😆
    But seriously, the evidence is obvious and the general number of likes on comments backs it up... Link was in no real danger and he wasn't trying to kill Ravioli. That overgrown turkey drumstick, on the other hand most certainly was trying to kill Link. Link is superior in the opinions of true fans and Ravioli's clear display of jealousy proves it, otherwise why be jealous? 😏

      “Non canon”??? The events that don’t abuse time travel are canon(i.e this fight), aoc takes place before botw, meaning this fight did happen. It probably explains why Revali is so egotistical towards Link

    Slow it down linger than 0.25 and you'll see a diferent story, thre was no parry, the arrow just decides to change routes... Links arm was not even close and Revali did not change aim either... The arrow decided that down was up or Revali flicked or the animators got lazy... But that metal sound was off or it was just ther for special effect and drama.

    Lol at these comments.
    The link wank is crazy
    Yes reval if had the intent to kill he would of won this cutscene fight And let me explain why.
    At
    1:12 reval gets rid of link shield
    1:13 reval literally has link in a position where he could of shot him dead but what does he do instead?
    1:14 He shoots explosive arrows missing on purpose. Note link does not react to the attack at all meaning if reval actually shot him head on with real arrows link would of checked.
    Link only reacts to the attack atfer the explosions start going off and hitting the ground.
    So yes if reval was serious the fight would of ended here. Y’all can stop saying link “ won” this cutscene fight because they were both either holding back or only reval was holding back.
    And btw at 1:24 the only reason why link reacted to the attack was because reval took the chance to gloat by saying “ but I’m better”
    If reval didn’t do that link would of just got shot.
    So It’s clear that reval cocky attitude was his downfall as he gloating about his abilities the whole fight looking down on link. If y’all stopped being link fanboys just for a second and payed attention you can see that link would of lost at two points during this fight.
    Now this is only for the cutscene fight we have no idea what happened during the gameplay fight but it’s clear link had the advantage somehow.
    However because we have nothing to go off of other than link having the advantage I can’t really tell if link was holding back or serious. The only person we know that was holding back clearly is reval because he was playing with his food.

      Link fighting to kill has been seen with all the blights and monsters take links abilities in botw and apply them hear. Link can dodge thunder blight canon during the speed marage dance thing it does. If that link whos the same link as this one in a weakened state then wouldn't link here do the same? Link is also blinded yet only hears a few words that's not enough to just attack the person in the exact direction they come from which is what link actually did. Link here isn't serious and isn't going for the kill but still used his precise reaction time. Link also turns and parries the arrow. Though people say link should have got shot anyway because of the party angle link still parried it regardless. Ravioli shot before zelda said to stop. Meaning the battle eas becoming life or death. And link again fights thunder blight canon in his weakened state making peak link from aoc even more capable. Also I dont like link much compared to other characters but I have to give him all of his abilities anyway because if you think this is enough to put down link I'm sorry but thats just a bad conparison.

    • @redacted606
      @redacted606 Před 2 lety

      @@NicklausHaynie because wind blight ganon needed to be close to the divine beast on order to keep control of it, so in the end range was wind blights downfall, also in age of calamity wind blight doesn't need to be in medoh because its not possessing it so it can move freely.
      So in other words all the blights are at their peak when not possessing the divine beasts bit the still have lost of their power its just wind blight ganon who got the most nerfed.
